Re: Vikings 2020 season
you can argue
1. Right call to go for it. ... love aggressive call to win
2. Right call to kick FG ... no play in nfl worth 9 pts
Starting to get some positives out of this team on the offense ... defense will be better next year with players returning. And young guys getting experience

If 25 had read the block of 30 better he would have had the 1st down for sure and likely scored.
None the less 25 is a horse as the #1B tailback.
I would not to give Wilson a shot at an OT win. I would have also went for it. I would have not ran a QB sneak though for a 2 pt conversion try.

I would have kicked the FG. At worst SEA comes back to tie the game. Maybe someday they'll put way their end of game defensive scheme that keeps preventing them from winning.

You're assuming a Vikings kicker makes a big FG late in the game that would seal a win though....

My comment to my son yesterday was “ this loss was Detroit Lionsesqe...Vikings late game foul ups snatched defeat from the jaws of almost certain victory.” His response “A brutal loss in the moment as they had the game in the bag several times. At the end of the day this is not a contending year regardless though... so in the grand scheme it’s not the end of the world.”
Re: Vikings 2020 season
I am OK with going for it on fourth down there. I question why they ran to the right when running to the left had worked so well in the two long drives in the fourth quarter.
If anything, Zimmer needs to be taken to task for the play calling on Seattle's two fourth down conversions in the final drive.

Samia plays right guard. I don't have nearly as big a problem with his run blocking in a zone scheme.
His pass protection is.....brutal. He gets both over powered and out "quicked".

The gap between the worst NFL team OL in a state and the best college team OL in a state has to be smaller in MN than anywhere else.

I love the wishful thinking around here haha. Even if the Vikings do stay in the running you just know that it will come down to a Gary Anderson Dan Bailey field goal and he will nail it (to clinch a 2nd tier first round pick)!

Yup. He doesn’t have the moxy to be a Top Tier QB. It doesn’t come naturally to want to make plays when it isn’t perfectly structured.

Re: Vikings 2020 season
You could argue that Cousins is a very similar QB to Tom Brady and there are stretches of games where Cousins plays just as well as Brady. The problem is Cousins doesn’t make his teammates better and in the clutch Brady steps up and gets way better....Cousins disappears.

I hate nothing more than following up an incomplete pass on first down with a run up the middle on second down. It never goes anywhere. Always forces a third and long. Just keep passing.

AJ Terrell knew exactly where the ball was going, he didn’t have to cover his guy who would have been wide open. Just go to where Cousins was looking. Read him from the snap.

Falcons D had 2 interceptions in the first 5 games of the season. Cousins has thrown 2 in the first half. Dan Quinn has to be watching this game and saying “if we would have played MN in week 5 I’d still have a job”.

Spielman has made good decisions at many positions but gets an F at QB. Extending Cousins was an awful decision, not having a backup on the roster they are developing for the future is almost as bad.

They need audience participation. Have a BOOO button on the TV remote to pipe in to the stadium. That would get the public opinion out when Cousins takes the field.

I don't understand why people still watch for four hours every week. They suck and don't deserve your time. I just keep an eye on the score and pray they go 1-15 because they won't win a SB with Cousins, so why waste the time.

Re: Vikings 2020 season
This D would be significantly better with Pierce and Hunter playing. Can’t put that on management or coaching. This offense is compounding bad QB play with boring AF play calling. Dalvin Cook was obviously lipstick on a pig cause they have nothing without him.Beauner wrote: ↑Sun Oct 18 1:17 pmEspecially considering we lost Rhodes, Waynes, Alexander, Griffen, and Linval this offseason. And started the season without Danielle Hunter, Michael Pierce, and lost Anthony Barr early.Butters Stotch wrote: ↑Sun Oct 18 1:00 pmNever said that, but nice try. Just unlikely Zimmer would be fired in the first year after signing the extension.ScoobyDoo wrote: ↑Sun Oct 18 12:57 pmWhich means they can suck for another 3 years. You still watch MLB don’t you? And the Twins have a historic post season losing streak & ya still have rosy colored glasses regarding the Pohlad Pocket Protectors and these epic all time post season losers. There’s your answer HUGE EDIT... thought that post was from Beauner, not U Bonin2/

We like football? We are Vikings fans? We watch the games that are on? This is right up there for 1 of your dumbest posts ever and that’s a high bar.

Re: Vikings 2020 season
I don't watch the Twins. They don't deserve the time or money either... I watched one playoff game because it is a pandemic and it was on during work so why not turn it on in the background. Didn't need to see any more.

Guys, it's not that the Vikings are doing bad. The Falcons are just doing really, really good.

Re: Vikings 2020 season
If you can't find other things to do I can somewhat respect wasting your time watching. But I'd suggest if anyone still spends a penny or more on tickets or merch on any of the pro teams in town, why not spend it on our favorite program Gopher hockey or even Gopher football instead. Those teams have upside. The pro teams don't deserve any money from any of us.
Of course my suggestion is spend your money on Gopher hockey because the Big Ten has basically killed the program and it's depressing to go to the empty arena every weekend during non pandemic times. It's also hurting recruiting. But I'll continue to buy the highest donation season tickets because I support the program and not the conference.

I reorganized my closet yesterday and found Wild and Vikings t-shirts buried in there. I was legit shocked.Bonin21 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 18 1:36 pmIf you can't find other things to do I can somewhat respect wasting your time watching. The refs certainly aren't the problem but man can they be a pain in the as*. That was no where near a penalty how does the ref even throw that flag?
And that helmet to helmet early was brutal as well.

Sean Mannion. Then Jake Browning and Nate Stanley are on practice squad IIRC.gopherguy06 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 18 1:31 pmWho are our other QB options at this point? Like who is the backup

Re: Vikings 2020 season
Both Browning and Stanley have their upsides. Not sure I expect either of them to be a full time starter in the NFL but I'd rather have either of them as the backup on this team instead of Mannion (if for no other reason than to see if they can provide a spark in dumpster fire games like this).
Edit to add: if I had control of the roster, Browning would be the backup in the NFL and Stanley would be on practice squad.

Wahsington goes for two to win instead of tie to give the Giants their first win? Good. Keep losing Vikings.
