The other day, the Padres scored 7 runs in the bottom of the 9th to win.

That's why you don't stop scoring.

Just your standard, everyday, 3-2-8 double play.

I saw it on FB and there was some discussion if he tagged the runner going back to third with his glove only of if he moved the ball there before tagging. I could not tell and given the ump was in good position I have to assume he did.

No batter faced Seaver more during his 20-year career than Brock did, and no pitcher faced Brock more during his 19-year career than Seaver did. The two faced off 157 times, with Brock going 38-for-152 (.250) with 10 doubles, two triples and a home run. Seaver struck out Brock 21 times and walked him four time

Milone for the Braves gives up 8 in 3.1 innings.
And his team is winning 29-9 right now over Miami.

That’s what I’m reading too. I met him once outside the Dome after a game as i was walking back to my car. A friend had a seizure in the left field seats early in the game and I spent the next few hours at HCMC with him until I could reach his family. He was out chomping on a cigar but was plenty happy to talk baseball with me for a couple minutes. He just seemed like the really personable guy he comes across as.

I just read he ends his career with 84 ejections...7th all time. He’s in some lofty company there

Showing my age here, but one of my most vivid baseball memories of my youth is rushing home from school and catching the last three or four innings of Gibson's 17 strikeout game against the Tigers in the '68 series. Great big game pitcher.

When he squares a ball up, the ball comes off his bat with an absolutely ridiculous amount of velocity.

Glasnow didn't even bother to look back to see the arc, and the catcher barely glanced up before lowering his head in disgust.

It's really too bad Lamet and Clevinger got hurt at the end of the regular season for the Padres. Clevinger tried to gut it out in game 1 but had to leave the game due to elbow/biceps issues that caused a significant drop in velo.

Those two at the front of the Padres rotation would have made this Dodgers series an absolutely phenomenal series. With Buehler-May-Kershaw going for LA and Lamet-Clevinger-Davies for SD, that would have been an absolute gem for pitching matchups.

I look forward to this rivalry expanding over the next couple years, because the Padres are not going anywhere and either are the Dodgers.

Tampa reliever hit a batter, walked a batter, and gave up a one-out single in the 8th inning to load the bases. They bring in their closer who gets out of the bases loaded jam with a double play ball on the first pitch. That had to deflate the crap out of Houston.

Fans of the Yankees and Dodgers don’t even comprehend that their teams have the tables massively tilted in their favor. Most teams are competitive on a rotating basis, their team is always competitive. f*** them and it’s almost better when their hopes are extra high and then dashed. Unfortunately the Dodgers are so good they might still win.

The Dodgers bats woke up late last night and ummm.... stayed alive today. That was a very impressive first inning.

Unable to watch but saw the box score. Wowza! Desperation can be a powerful motivator.

Not sure I'd call it luck with their lineup. They're really really really good.

Atlanta's pitching staff has been massively underrated all year. Their whole team has been TBH.

I’m cheering for the Rays. Astros-Dodgers would probably be pretty interesting to watch, though.

Dodgers looked like they were about to do another 11 run inning. Come on Braves, make the comeback happen

Kike Hernandez and Bellinger both absolutely destroyed HRs to give LA a lead going into the 9th.

Gonna be interesting to see if Roberts keeps Urias out there or goes to Jansen on three straight days.
