The Bat Signal is up: Answers Are Needed.

Bruce wins with loaded teams, very good coach. Given the “ Win Now! “ edict, he doesn’t have the resume of lifting a team of limited talent to even a playoff berth to inspire confidence, does he?
Well...it’s a lot too late to summon Jacque from retirement. Bruce will be lucky if he makes it to Thanksgiving the way these dregs are playing. And after each & every mounting loss...nobody hears the slightest peep from Mikko, Ryan & Zack, simply no accountability or leadership on display from the Captain group ☝️
Suter talked at length after the game last night. Parise talked at length I believe after game two and took a lot of heat from the comment warriors on Twitter and athletic because he dared to talk about getting to know linemates on the ice.

Lol. Honestly with all the issues and the start of the season the last thing I would have mentioned was hearing a peep from those three.

I get it though, its pretty much habit at this point. When in doubt...

And THE Captain? Mikko.? What I was particularly referring to is how they duck a post game tv interview on FSN after losses like Gorg or Audra have Ebola :( :biggrin2:

Yeah. We have heard this all before with this group. Show me on the ice. Suter looks like he’s playing in da beauty league at times. Koivu with his drive by poke checks in the neutral zone. Koivu could crushed Hornquist with a legal check in the third period. Nope. Same old crap.

Put Spurgeon back with Suter. Brodin does a better job of covering for Dumba when he starts running around.

When you try to recreate the Wings formula with old players that are not nearly as good...
And then you see what happens to the Wings but you stay all on the same guys and they continue to get older.

It's been obvious for years this team won't go anywhere meaningful until Parise, Koivu, and maybe even Suter are off the books
Lead us out of Loserville, Bob.
104 big four seasons with no finals appearance
Times advanced in playoffs last 15 seasons: Vikings 3, Wild 2, Twins 0, Wolves 0
1967 last football conference title, 1982 last basketball conference title, 2003 last hockey national championship

Never did get Leipold signing 2 guys to 13 year contracts.

Let's do the report card from my list before the season.

1. Health - A+. This team is healthy. One injury so far to a replaceable player.
2. Dubnyk - C-. Already pulled once in 4 games but has played well enough to win 3 of the 4.
3. Breakout from the youngsters. F. Nothing from the youngsters has been encouraging except maybe Ek and Ek is just giving us what we already knew he had. Fiala really need(s) to work out. Turnover machine with him continues in spades.
4. Avg. play from the vets. F. Koivu, Zucker, Hartman, and Foligno are the only ones giving anything noticeable right now. Zucker is scoring like Foligno, Hartman, and Greenway are supposed to score.

So, far a big D+ on the list.. Not surprising to be 0-4 right now.

Best bet right now is to concentrate on defense only. Go full trap. If they start getting some confidence shutting teams down maybe they'll start accidentally winning and getting some confidence. This team used to be a defensive powerhouse. Now they can't score and can't play defense at the same time.

I thought I heard Walz say that in Guerin’s pre-season meetings he told the team “You are not paid to play, you are paid to win”. Made me chuckle.
Evidently that speech and all the kum by yah fluffing in the Rockies has fallen on deaf ears.

Yeah, the only way to watch a hockey game at this point in time is to be at the rink. Are you serious with any of the garbage that you post?

If there's one thing we can all agree that the Wild are doing right now, it's that they're generating juice out of their back-end.

I'd be mad they didn't take Caufield if they didn't make such a solid pick of Boldy.

My goal for the team is to win the lottery.

Having Kaprizov, Lafreniere and maybe Boldy come in next year would be fun.

Wow how did you find out that he scored twice? Were you in Boston? Moron. Caufield scored 2 PP goals. one was a tap-in and the other was a great snipe. At 5 on 5 he got destroyed all night. Was just pushed aside in puck battles and spent most shifts watching BC pass the puck around his zone. But, I'm sure a great hockey mind like yourself already knew all of this.

Did I just see that Fiala has 4 SOG in 4 games? How is that possible? I could accidentally get 1 SOG per game and I can barely skate....
Close, 5 shots in the first 4 games. I know he is a fan favorite whipping boy but there are a handful of Wild forwards who should cause more concern right now.

Well we are 0-4 and have given up a ton of goals. Small win

So far after 2 periods, we have 5 power plays and not one goal to show for it. Best opportunity on the 5th power play was actually Ottawa's.

Rask scores. 2 points in 2 games. Looks like he will earn a 3rd straight game in Toronto.

Nice win today. Liked the defense pairings. I would to see Stalock get 35 starts. Pretty consistent effort with no big defensive breakdowns. A lot of ridiculous stick penalties.

Stalock has earned the opportunity to play until he loses it. 26 shot shutout is a level above for this team right now. I don’t think he’s a long-term starting goaltender, but he’s earned the right to prove me wrong.

No surprise on Dubnyk as we always tend to play both goalies on back-to-back nights. That said, I still think Stalock has earned the opportunity to play more than on the first night of a back-to-back.

I'm not at practive, so I obvioulsy don't know the full assessment, but not sure we have much to lose.

Fiala isn't happy he's a healthy scratch tonight. Going to be tough for him to turn his turnover mode off. Could be a long season.

It's a horrible thing when a team that can't score can't defend at the same time.

Can you say fire sale before the deadline? Sure you can ...as we thought before the season started they are in absolute no-mans land, not young, the older pieces won't be here when we're good again and absolutely no future goalie, and a lot of the youth we do have looks nowhere near ready to help

Oh yeah, and I'm usually the positive one...

Trade Dumba for a young goal scorer and try to get the Russian goalie Askarov in the entry draft.

Did I hear Walz just say "all the games the wild have lost so far, they weren't able to come back in." ?!?

He's really laying it on thick trying to put lipstick on this pig, but he didn't need to go Madden on the bit
