Thanks for the info!

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014-2020: Here's Your Damn Thread
Strange year indeed. Nearing the end of the season, and it's clear Gibson is not a rotation pitcher that can be counted on. I doubt his ability out of the bullpen.
Dobnak has taken Gibson's spot. Duffey might be the most surprising guy on the staff this season.
Dyson, the guy the Twins needed at the trade deadline, looks like he's out for the season. Twins pretty much got almost nothing from him this year....that's Buxton, Pineda, Adrianza and now Dyson all officially lost in the last month or so of the season. Pretty tough for any team to absorb, but the Twins winning a division title would be pretty sweet, despite the setbacks.
I still don't have confidence in the pitching staff and think it will be their undoing, but this team does seem to pull out wins when they're down.

I also like that the Twins were relegated to the annals of Detroit’s stadium. Could be a bathroom, maybe the loading dock, maybe an empty warehouse somewhere.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014-2020: Here's Your Damn Thread
The way he's pitching lately may mean its not just as an opener. He's gone 6ish innings the last couple starts. It may be a scenario where they say Dobnak is going to open and go until he gets over 80 pitches or lit up. With the way he has been pounding the zone and getting outs, 80 pitches could very well be into the 6th inning vs. the "traditional" opener who goes 1-2 innings.Snowcool08 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25 8:06 pmDobnak would “start” game 2, but only as the opener. The idea would be to be a bullpen game like they have done recently. It’s a bad idea to do that in games 3 & 4. It would be too taxing to the bullpen on back to back days. At least with games 2 & 4 they would have an extra day off to rest.fightclub30 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25 7:05 pmPeople are saying game 2. It's garbage time when one playoff team rests its roster while the other plays call ups. But the Twins' back of the bus had a lot of fun out there today...zero pressure and free swinging.

NYY add one more in top of 9th. 6 HR on the day. Twins down by 2 HR with 2 games remaining.
I'd take beating them in the playoffs over the regular season HR record 100 times out of 100.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014-2020: Here's Your Damn Thread
For me, 100 wins is even better than the HR record. I had thought we had a chance at the HR record and wouldn't sustain for 100 so I was focusing on that.
100 lives on forever, whereas obviously the HR record could be broken soon. It could also never be broken so who knows.
Yankees own us in the playoffs, but 100 is a crazy season and awesome first year for Rocco.

I'd say game 2 is odo/severino
Game 3 is dobnak then bullpen vs Tanaka
Who knows...

Aaron Boone has said that Paxton might be his only true starter. Might go with bullpen for the other games. I’m guessing he throws out Severino or Sabathia and has a very quick hook in those games.Bonin21 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29 7:48 pmAny predictions for games 2 and 3 though? Also I'd assume because yankmees we will be the 7:30et game not the 4:00et
I bet the Twins go Dobnak in game 2 and leave Odo for game 3 at home.

Boone basically says other than Paxton he's going bullpen games. Severino just came off the IL and has thrown like 15 innings. My guess is he starts game 2, goes 3-4 innings and then they turn to the bullpen. My guess would be that's how Rocco rolls too except with Dobnak potentially going 5-6 if he's locked in. Then either CC/Tanaka to start 3 with similar plan as the Severino game against Odorizzi.Bonin21 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29 7:48 pmAny predictions for games 2 and 3 though? This is basically my guess too except it might be Tanaka instead of CC given the Twins lineup strength against LHP (even Kepler has really good numbers vs LHP this year).Snowcool08 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29 8:27 pmAaron Boone has said that Paxton might be his only true starter.
