Such bull crap, I wouldn't be surprised to see the patsies had conversations with him to get booted from oakland so they could sign him fa because the Steelers wouldn't trade him there.

AB to Pats, let’s see if he’s interested in actually playing football...
I cannot fathom this news...the ONLY way would be if the following conversation happened

AB, NE Patriots here. We win Super Bowls. Here's how it's going to go. The GOAT will tell you what route to run and you will run it. After the play hand the ball to the ref. Open your mouth once, tweet, instagram whatever and you will be bagging groceries in Des Moines by week 4. We clear?
That is exactly how the convo went, IMO. Bill B is the Phil J of the NFL. It wasn't like AB SIGNED with OAK, he was traded to OAK. He had no say.

It was in an instant, this just feels like it was planned from the get go. Besides, the Pat's organization isnt really known for being rule followers

The NFL has actually changed rules due to Bill's attention to the rulebook: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/125 ... bstitution

Although I consider myself a half full, conspiracy theory guy, I don't buy it that AB had this all planned out. It was starting to go sideways in Pittsburgh, and even though he is a multi millionaire , I don't think he would purposely drop that much money to pull this off. You knew if anyone would sign him this year, it would be NE.

I don’t buy the conspiracy here, when Brown became available for only money (no trade) then BB signed him. BB and Brady have created a culture there that can afford to take chances like this. The pats are in a no lose situation. One of 2 things will happen, he will play great and not rock the boat or he will
act like he has been and they will release him immediately. 9 million signing bonus to Kraft is like $50 to us. Well worth the risk.

Nobody will sign this head case
Patriots are on line 1. ;)
I would argue that Brown, Mayock and Gruden are all equally to blame for handing the situation poorly. If other teams see it that way also then they could justify making a run at him but he will be missing out on a lot of “guaranteed” money. Seeing him on the NE sideline for the Sunday night game would be soap opera-esque.
While I think Antonio could be suffering from mental illness, concussion issues, possible drug problems, Oakland has a coach that is part Reality TV Star, a GM totally green and who looks overmatched and an owner that appears to make poor choices in the barber’s chair and in his management hires. Congratulations, Vegas, you now have the Yang to the Golden Knights Yin.
Some desperate team will maybe pick up this PUNK...but it won’t be NE or the Vikings ☝️Way to piss $30 mil down your leg AB 😂
This post aged well
At least the Vikings.. have some integrity. AB is still a PUNK.
Are you talking about the same Vikings team that stood behind Adrian Peterson? Talking about integrity in the NFL is hilarious

The Pats can afford to take this gamble. I wouldn’t take it, AB is taking on water at a breakneck pace. These types of situations are usually indicative of serious mental health issues. If he shows up wearing fatigues and speaks of “ Going to War!”, keep him away from the kitchen knives.

This is all going to be fun. I predict more Ocho Cinco than Randy Moss in New England.

It would be interesting if Brown orchestrated this to get out of Oakland and go to New England. He certainly signed quickly after getting released. Maybe this was his plan. This assumes quite a bit about his intelligence obviously. 🤷‍♂️

Eagles favored by 7, up 12 late. Washington scored a touchdown with 6 seconds left to cut the deficit to 5. Ouch.

By that I meant, they have multiple receivers who could implode at any time. BUT they did reign in Randy Moss so....

Assuming all are behaving, how do you game plan for receiving corps? Who's the 1,2,3 and 4 receiver? I think on any given week it could be totally flip flopped, because they can.

They will stay in line because they want the ring. If they get in the spotlight of the SB they can parlay that into more money down the line. If they can hold it together for a season they have glory. Seeing as NE is in the SB every other year with or without them they also know they have zero power.

Unless AB is as unhinged as his behavior is suggesting he is. Mentally ill people not receiving treatment don’t typically fall into line.

I’m convinced all this bad behavior was an act to get out of his contract in Oakland. He still has some prima donna to him, but he’ll control it in New England.

He isn't mentally ill...he is just a primadonna jerk. Every thing about this is calculated which is why he recorded the call and posted it. This is Favre to the Jets 2.0.

AB was an underdog when he came into the league. Then he gets paid, and he turns into a diva. He went after his teammate Ju Ju last year because he won the team MVP. I stayed away from him in all my fantasy leagues this year, and I normally don't root against people, but I hope he crashes and burns in NE.

I’m not defending AB as he pulled some indefensible $h!t last week but Mayock handled the whole thing extremely poorly as well.

I also didn’t understand why they went from an extra 15 minute quarter to a 10 minute OT. If another 5 minutes eliminates even 1 out of every 4 ties it’s worth it. This has to either be TV driven or they are actually fine with a few tie games.

Is it possible that rooting against the Saints is becoming more enjoyable than rooting against the Packers?

I believe they did it for player "safety". At least that is what they sold it as.

Bill O’Brien has got to be the DUMBEST COACH in the NFL. Way to play soft D and give the Saints a chance for the game winning FG. What a moron ☝️

This. It wasn't like he was a FA and signed with the Raiders. He was traded, then realized, "I don't want to be on this team."

I'm going with "no"

Doesn't mean they might not be second on the list currently, but there's a pretty good gap between them.

Packers and Patriots, in that order. One being more a homestate thing, and the other being they are in my team's division.

Never really hated the Pats, myself. I completely understand why people do, but other than the camera thing with the Jets way back when, they've never really bothered me too much.

I just hate 'em because they keep winning the division titles that OBVIOUSLY should belong to the Buffa--

I tried to say that with a straight face, and couldn't. Of course, it could be worse. We're not MIA or NYJ.

It isnt like ties happen that often. Since 1974 (when sudden death was put in) there has been 25 ties total out of over 570 OT games.

Could easily be a statistical blip, but, from 2012-2016 (after the last OT rule change), there were 5 ties over 5 full seasons. So far, in one full season plus one week with the 10 minute OT, we've seen 3.

Oops!
Story came out this morning that the accuser offered him a 2 million dollar settlement and he rejected it. So now she's taking it to civil court (not criminal). She's meeting with the NFL tomorrow IIRC.

What a cluster F of a situation.

He must feel like he is going to be able to get cleared if a $2 million settlement was all it took to make it to away.
