Polanco becomes the 8th Twin to hit 20 or more HRs. A new record.
And we're very likely to see at least 1 more get to 20 before the season ends.

Bert was a key cog in giving this team it’s first world championship. That means something to me. He can stay in the booth as long as he wants as far as I’m concerned.

Bert is a powder keg that is ready to blow. He has a history of burning bridges on his way out of various teams and towns he has played for. He is obviously unhappy that FSN cut him to 30 games. This will not end well. I don't mind him for 30 games, but can't take him for more than that.

I can't find a list, but the '27 Yankees had a mark of .872 (Twins are currently at .843 so won't beat that).

And then a broken bat looper into CF and a chopper that died right behind the mound. Detroit hasn't found a barrel yet but has runners on the corners.
And then a ground ball to Arraez for a double play to end the game.

He can’t swing a bat. He can run and catch. I’m sure he’s close to a full return. Like another week or so. With the rosters being as big as they are, might as well put him on for spot duty.Bertogliat wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01 9:40 pmWhat’s the deal with that? Serious question. Re: Minnesota Twins 2014-2020: Here's Your Damn Thread
Essentially what Snowcool said. September rosters expand so the team activated him because even if he can't swing a bat yet, he's still the fastest player in all of baseball so they've got a weapon as a pinch runner if needed (no more Adrianza pinch running!) and can play CF as a defensive replacement late in games until he gets the all clear to swing at full strength. I'd imagine he's still doing all the rehab/recovery stuff he'd normally do before/during/after the games but it's just an extra little weapon that Rocco can use in a tight game.Bertogliat wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01 9:40 pmWhat’s the deal with that? Never change Gardy. Never ever ever.
Bases loaded 2 outs. Kepler coming up.
Gardy goes "DERP THIS GUY BATS LEFT HANDED SO I GOTTA GO GET MY LEFTY PITCHER FOR THAT LEFTY-LEFTY MATCHUP! DERP!"
Kepler is hitting .294 against LHP and .240 against RHP
Kepler hits a missile to left to score 2 runs and give the Twins a 4-3 lead.
Good lord I'm so happy he's not the Twins manager anymore. And I'm so happy a divisional opponent was dumb enough to hire him.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014-2020: Here's Your Damn Thread
What I loved about that half of the inning was 1- Rocco inserts Wade in as a pinch hitter and he works a key walk 2- Arraez with a big hit 3- Cave beats out an infield hit....all three of those guys are young players, and they set the table for Kepler, who has been clutch all year. I also liked that Kepler burned the Tigers on the shift.Beauner wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02 3:02 pmNever change Gardy. Never ever ever.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014-2020: Here's Your Damn Thread
Twins have been getting the situational hits, but not tonight. Left way too many guys on base early.
Berrios wasn't sharp early. I have pretty much no confidence in him as a post-season shut down pitcher. His fastball velocity is down and that clunker slider of his comes out at the worst times.

Because Boston stays at home (vs Yankees) and the East Coast teams, especially Boston and New York, and their ratings/attendance are FAR more important.
