Ryan Johnson was the one to be determined. I think there's potential one more could be added by the time the season gets going... but we shall see.
What is the holdup with Lafontaine?
It's not official yet--transfers and international players aren't as simple as just signing an NLI.
Thanks for the info

For some reason I really felt Bob was going to pull off the Brink flip, I guess I was wrong. Personally, I'm a little bummed on this miss.

I’ll say Brock Faber.

If he commits somewhere else, Fleming, since Biondi will never flip. Or Isaac Howard.

Personally I want to flip Faber really bad.

I think as a group we will want to flip Nick Pierre and he will be the next Brink like obsession

It’s a lot easier to flip recruits who previously committed to you at a school (you formerly coached) like Brodz, etc, than simply flipping a player, especially one committed to top program (like Denver or tUMD). But let speculation begin now that flipping Brink is officially OVER...never made sense to me in the 1st place, his Dad played at the U, if you can’t get a former players son to originally committ, why would he flip later...

Expecting Lacombe to go early today. Brodzinski/Huglen/Loster/Pitlick at some point as well.

Lacombe 39 to ANA

Bob brings in two top 39 picks to address the D that had fallen off a cliff under the old regime.

Which Gopher commit that wasn’t drafted is most likely to be picked in second year of eligibility? I’ll say Pinoniemi with Warner close behind.

Both Pinoniemi and Warner (you can also loop Braccini into the group) will play senior year of high school followed by a full year of juniors and will likely arrive on campus in the fall of 2021.

Haven’t heard anything official on what Braccini plans to do this year but even if he decides to play juniors this year I don’t think it’ll accelerate his arrival on campus due to the number of recruits and the lack of forward losses going into the 2020 season.

Braccini will be back and trying to prove himself in the Lake Conference.

And ya I think all three plus Mittelstadt and even Nevers a second year would be good, but that will create a backlog for 2021 with some players that look talented enough to come in right away. Let's see how Tussey and Nevers progress.

Braccini will be back and trying to prove himself in the Lake Conference.

And ya I think all three plus Mittelstadt and even Nevers a second year would be good, but that will create a backlog for 2021 with some players that look talented enough to come in right away. Let's see how Tussey and Nevers progress.
Also Chaz Lucius. Does he wanna come in fall 2021 or as a package deal with his bro? A lot of this is way too far down the line to be putting much thought into it. I am excited to see how Chaz stacks up against real competition next year.

I didn't mean Tussey and Nevers were guys to come in 2021. Actually meant they could be out on the numbers game. Ya Lucius would want to come 2021. I imagine at least one of Broz/Miller/Knies would hope to be good enough to come right in, too.

Nevers will probably play 3 full years of juniors AFTER he graduated. I hope he stays with us and doesn’t transfer cause he’ll probably be an effective player with that much seasoning.

I just know 100% of the players in the pipeline will not end up in a Gophers jersey. Just how it works these days. Could be high end guys that do something else or guys that don't pan out.

It depends how you read the sentence. I was going to restate it but figured it would be obvious.

100% of the players will not end up in a Gophers jersey. That means 90% or 95% or some other number will.

Personally I want to flip Faber really bad.

I think as a group we will want to flip Nick Pierre and he will be the next Brink like obsession
I will be surprised if Pierre ever plays college hockey...for several reasons.

I think technically the last time would be Miami landing Alec Capstick a few months ago.

Ratzlaff selected for Hlinka.

Broz, Miller, Tussey, Knies, and Williams were also eligible.

Uncommitted Edina goalie Louden Hogg was also picked, as well as UMD commits Biondi and Kaiser and SCSU commit Bushy.

Kind of a random thought I had but is it a d**k (can we say that here??) move for Bob to steal some of SCSU’s best recruits when he switched or is all fair in whatever whatever I forget the quote.

Is it just seen as flipping recruits?

Ultimately it's a business in which he's a highly paid leader who needs to deliver results. Unless he thinks doing so is going to hurt him in some way I don't really see why it'd be off the table.
<GophDogFan> yep, so sad... you have a new moment, when your uncle gets mad because you got the best of him. the last straw was when i told him that UND's hockey program is like crystal pepsi: Nobody every liked it.

Probably depends on whose ox is being gored but I think most rational people would view it as something that will occur when a coach changes jobs, regardless of the stature of the program he's going to / coming from.

I guess it has been a while since we've had a coach leave for a better job at a stronger program. Holtz?

For a lot of these recruits the coaching staff is a key factor in their decision. I would think many of them want to make a switch. We see it all the time when incoming kids de-commit after a program loses its coach in the off season. If a coach they really like moves to the marquee program in the state, it's a win-win.

Nah it is standard operating procedure in college sports. If they havent signed an NLI they can flip whenever they want to anyways.

That is college athletics. Zero problem with it. Get with the times
