I was kind of excited for a 11:30 AM gametime when I first read this post.

Figured it would be a good excuse to avoid some work stuff! 7pm works better though.

I would assume so. I'm expecting a bit tighter of a game. I think our speed will still really help us but we'll also still need that grit. Carl Fish might work well in a match up like this

MSU doesn't look like the team to beat, but they also don't look like the caboose team anymore. Hard to tell with so few games so far, but with OSU and PSU significantly weaker this year and Danton Cole in his 4th season coaching in East Lansing, MSU might be the best of the 3 "State" schools in the conference this year. Next week's series at Michigan might be the big one, but we need to take care of the little brother first.

UW handled PSU pretty easily 6-3 and 7-3.

I wouldn’t assume Michigan is the front runner. It may be a 4 team race.

They'll be fine for Michigan State... I would be suprised if we don't seen a ton of Johnson, LaCombe and Faber the next two nights since they'll get a break before the USA camp can get going.

Edit-- Jess Meyers says Brinkman is out with an injury. I hope it is just a short term, 2 game type.

Another very solid first period. Johnson is so much better this year, very calm with the puck, jumping into the play, he has made great strides from last year.

Overall the 3-1 score did not truly reflect the margin of play the Gophers had. There were a half-dozen or so tremendous opportunites - especially early on - that very easily (and maybe should) have resulted in Gopher goals.

It's their play without the puck that has me excited. They never stop moving and now that tBob has them buying in it's fun to watch. You could see glimpses two years ago, last year it became more apparent, and now...dang! I only wish I could see them in person. Oh well.

I used to take games like this for granted. Controlling the play for almost the entire game against a lesser opponent. Not giving up many scoring chances. Producing a lot of our own chances. Great in almost every facet of the game.

Michigan State will have a punch back tomorrow. I would like to see us take that punch and then bring the fight right back to them.

A couple years ago, I struggled figuring out who the Gophers best defenseman was. This year I am struggling again but for the exact opposite reason which makes me very happy.

I work at night locally because my business dealings are 90% US based. Therefore it requires a lot of creativity to watch US prime time events live and still have a normal life otherwise.

I think they tried to get him on the ice out against the other team's fourth line and the shift after killing a penalty. He didn't get much TOI, but more than his first game.

I meant to add a comment about Ben Clymer last night. Was never a fan (and in fact sometimes he drove me nuts!) but I have to say that his commenting skills and overall demeanor are greatly improved over as recently as last year. So kudos to him.

Pause the tv and try hard to start at the right time.

I believe it's an FCC thing, in case someone says a naughty word. Every station has a delay, so the producer can use the "dump" button and omit the offending word from going on air.

Traditionally that "dump" delay has only been 7 seconds. The radio broadcasts of the game is several minutes behind the TV.
