For those arguing the three stars, Mann was announced as the first star.

I’ll g back to what I said all season, they’re just inconsistent. They show flashes of greatness and periods of utter not. But I think that’s ok, that’s their youth and hopefully means next year they elevate. Still a lot to play for.

Can’t say the Gophers didn’t have ample opportunities to win that game. A 5 minute PP at the end of the 3rd period and came out of it with only 3 shots on goal.

Are we better off to lose tomorrow night and be a 3 seed, get a home series against anyone but Wisco? Or maybe a pairwise tie?

At this point, last place Wisconsin is 27 and sixth place Michigan State is 24, so it's not like there is a big difference. Winning games and helping their win percentage is the biggest area where Minnesota could help themselves.

What happened? I was told we didn't have to worry about Michigan. :)

I guess this is the young MN lineup that *almost* won a Big 10 championship.

MI got a belly full of losing last week. Not surprising they started strong. So is MN down to winning the tournament for a sniff at the NCAA?

Second as far as playoff seeding goes, yes. If we end up with the same amount of points we are co-champs, though.

We needed two points tonight, but only got one. The good news is were still #13 in Pairwise and can be B10 Co Champs tomorrow with a win. The bad news is we lost a possible Bye and will probably play a red hot Badger team in the first round

We can still hang a banner tomorrow. So let's see if these guys want to learn what it's like to win a trophy and get the itch to do that more in the future.

No need to get black out tonight, just a few cold MN beers.

In my opinion, the trophy should be at Mariucci tomorrow because PSU is off.

LaFontaine gave up 2 goals... 2 GOALS. The 1st one was a soft one, and the defense on #2 was nowhere to be found. This loss is on the offense for not getting 3 past Mann. If he only gives up 2 GOALS a game I would take that pretty much every game, just wasn't good enough tonight. It happens.

Tonight the Beavers and St. Cloud wins helped the Gophers pairwise. Tomorrow night is a must win. Then they need a good run or hopefully win the B1G tournament.

There’s nothing to be upset or ashamed of after the game tonight. They put it on Michigan for 40 minutes and Mann stood on his head. It’s disappointing, but an effort like that and we win a lot of games.

We played 2 outstanding periods tonight. 50 plus shots on goal. Should be enough to win.

Someone please give me a logical reason why #3 runs our power play? He Honestly didn’t want to shoot on the game tying goal ( complete hesitation). So frustrating to watch. So tentative!

Yup. There has been a 3 way tie once, in Hockey East a few years ago. As far as I know there's never been a 4 way tie for a conference. There was a chance to do it this weekend but it's gone.

The Gophers were co champions with SCSU in the last year of the WCHA

Not surprised at all we couldn’t take care of business on home ice (and get 2 points). Just feels like the program’s MO the last 5-6 years. When the stakes are raised we seem to fold

The guys throw 55 shots on goal and dominate the last 40 minutes. They were down 2-0 and kept battling and manage to tie the game. I may be disappointed in the score, but how can you not love the effort? If they win tonight, the record would be something like 10-3-3 since Christmas. I would take that ever year. I have really enjoyed this year watching them grow up, even with all the ups and downs.

E for Effort for sure. Can’t fault their effort whatsoever.

But don’t tell me about the labor, show me the baby. This program needs results. At home with a lot on the line...bury Michigan. We allowed them to get up 2-0 with a slow start. Was just hoping we’d come out and make a statement

Win tonight and we share the B1G conference title and get the #2 seed.
Lose and we could fall to #5 and go on the road.

We are 1-1-2-0 in our last 4 so I think due for the win.

All I know is I read on this board about games they won that they shouldn’t have. Last night they were the better team and tied. That’s how it goes sometimes. I guess unless they win every game 7-0, some people will never be happy. The fact is they have gotten better since January 1. Can they be more consistent? Absolutely! To me, if they can somehow sneak into the NCAAs while hanging a banner, that would be a successful step this year.

My takeaways from last night--
The crowd was active and loud after the 1st period. Really loud during the 5 min PP late in the game and OT.
When ( IF ) Nelson learns how to finish, he could be a sneaky scoring machine. He could have 10 goals this year based on his near misses. Love when he has the puck coming down the boards.
As someone else brought up, Ranta has disappeared lately. Maybe he is dinged up, but don't see the power skating from him lately
LaCombe continues to improve. Reminds me of Paul Martins progression late in his 1st year.
Wonder who is in goal tonight? LaFontaine's stats are now 2.76 GAA and 914% Save percentage. Moe's is 2.46 GAA and 915% Save percentage. Moe has not played since Feb 8th. He beat Michigan earlier this year.
Still puzzles me that tBob hasn't changed the players on the PP.
Saw Nate Condon at the game. Maybe he can come in and give a tutorial on how to score a short handed goal.
Have to give Nanne credit. He has taken and received a ton of big hits this year.
Let's get the win tonight and hang a banner.

Still have a shot at a banner. That's good. Might be good to have to play instead of sit the first weekend of the tournament. Come out and win it tonight and go into the playoffs angry and hungry.

T Boyd was there too so between those two they probably have more PP and PK goals than the entire roster

Back to a 5:00 PM game . . . may come out steaming but lose legs in the 3rd period again , , ,

Needed two wins to get within the top 10 of the PWR (with six possible conference autobids). So, looks as though it's win the B1G Championship game to get into the NCAAs . . . .

Meanwhile, interesting to compare the top 16 teams in the

PWR (Arizona State, Northeastern, Maine, and UMass Lowell do not appear in the KRACH)

KRACH (Western Michigan, St Cloud State, Notre Dame, and MIchigan do not appear in the PWR)

and SOS (especially SOS as old WCHA teams clean up and you can spot teams in the other rankings missing from the top 16 in SOS)

Go Gophers!

How easy to get tickets? It's been easy to get tickets to basically every home game for like five years. You just walk up and buy tickets.

Cheapest tickets were 30 for this series. You could have gotten those yesterday. Tonight only $40+ tickets remain if you need more than one ticket.

I'm with the majority in that it's a bummer to see the result of last night, but as instated in chat, if Don were still coaching, they would have folded at 2-0 and given up. The progression and growth is what has me thrilled with this team. The maturity that has been shown along the way is only going to pay off as they age, and string along mentors and models for the guys Bob continues to bring in.

Would love to see the guys make the NCAA and give it their all, but after the start of the season and that nightmare from Thanksgiving, I'm more than pleased with what I've seen in growth and can feel confident about the future, we are trending in the right direction. This has the same feel as the football program, get through a longer than like to admit growing pain period and then start to show cohesion, confidence, and skill as a program for success.

Mann cant stand on his head again tonight, go out there and fire at will on him again, win it, raise banner, and get ready to throw some haymakers in the Big10 tourney.

Maybe I will wear my #3 jersey tomorrow.....🤔🤔🤔

My brother & I were at the game asking why #3 is on PP as well. I would rather see #23 run it because he has a lot more skating ability and maneuverability in my opinion.

If you would have told me at the beginning of the season that we would be where we are right now, as far as PWR, I'd have said, "Yeah, might want to dial your expectations back a tad." I figured we'd be on the other side of the bubble at best. Frankly, we're playing with house money right now.

So let's go big or go home. ;)

If you'd told me just before Christmas that the Gophers were in the driver's seat for home ice in the first round, I'd have said it was unlikely. If you'd said that a win the last night of the season would get them a share of the conference title (and that a Shootout win the night before would have gotten the title outright) I'd have said you were nuts.

The fact that we go into tonight with a banner on the line, and are in pretty good position to make the NCAA tournament even without winning the B1G tourney is certainly an amazing turnaround from the first half of the year. And yes, at this point, there's a reasonable chance of making the NCAA tournament, even without the B1G tournament title. It might take making the championship game, but there's certainly a decent chance that rattling off 4 wins will keep the Gophers at 13 or better, which is a good bet to make the tourney.

Can't remember where I saw it, here or USCHO, but we could finish as high as 10 in the PWR, with a couple of other games going our way. I think 13 we are probably safe, 12 is safe, and 11 is guaranteed, as far as making the NCAAs.

Technically, only 10+ is guaranteed. Realistically, looking at the PWR this year, it looks like every conference has multiple good teams in the top 15 PWR, so the chances of more than a couple true upsets happening are pretty slim (certainly not impossible, just really unlikely). The AHA team will get the 16 seed, so it's a matter of the other 5 conferences, and, being honest, I could only see maybe 2 teams outside the current PWR top 15 winning anyway, so, get to 13 and you're probably safe, 12 or better and you're pretty much a lock.

Do Stucker's parents give money to the right people or something? It's painful
This

edit: the only reasoning I can think of that would explain it is that he has a hard shot and they feel some type of need to have a right handed shot there, hence why Nanne is the other option. That still doesn't adequately explain it imo but that's my only guess

I've gotta believe 3 wins from here on out gets them no worse than 13 or so in the pwr.

Win tonight, win the first round series, and i think they make the tourney.

If you only end up needing 2, I would buy the only two remaining 33 dollar tickets right now and just sit somewhere (section 10 or 16) when you get to the game. Right before you go you can check which rows haven't sold any tickets.

Otherwise, there is the $44 ticket sections (with fees) and you don't have to "steal" an empty seat. IF there are scalpers, sure you can get in for cheaper.
