Gophers enter the weekend in 5th place in the conference, but only 2 games out of 1st place, and with 2 games in hand against everyone but Michigan (currently 6th place)

Last weekend was fun to see. If they play like that the rest of the year, I'm okay with it no matter how it turns out for them. I just want to watch good hockey.

If they do finish the year strong, I'll be fired up for next season. :D

perfect timing, I am expanding my therapy practice into Wisconsin. When the Gophers beat the ever living snot out of the popcorn box wearing skunks my caseload will fill up immediately.

Any word on Reedy and how long he will miss? Will be interesting where he slots in when he comes back. I assume 3rd line and then move either Burke or Nelson down. My preference would be Burke down to 4th line , but that would mean Reedy or Nelson would have to play their off wing.

Reedy skated today, Motzko said he thinks that Reedy will be ready to go this weekend and won't know for sure until later in the week. Reedy was just working in with the Munson-Perbix-Marooney group today.

Last weekend was last weekend, nothing more...split on the road is what you'd think. Might not be what we need but it's what I'd expect

As some have said what I'm looking at is how we play, and that seems to have really turned around. What we did early in the season may be a hole too deep but I want a solid finish to have to build on for next year when I think it can really start changing

"Timing mishap
Granato said the Big Ten apologized for a timing error by off-ice officials that added what he said was another 42 seconds to the second period on Saturday. That was to the detriment of the BADgers, who were whistled for a penalty and allowed a 5-on-3 goal in the final 18 seconds of the period — time that shouldn’t have been left on the clock.

After Notre Dame scored with 3:35 remaining in the second period to take a 2-1 lead, the timekeeper at Compton Family Ice Arena didn’t start the clock for nearly three-quarters of a minute after the faceoff.

“The period would have been over 42 seconds earlier but because of a human error, there’s nothing they can do,” Granato said Monday. “They said ‘sorry.’”

Timing errors normally are corrected at the next whistle, when off-ice officials alert the referees and fix the clock. That didn’t happen Saturday, and the BADgers went into the third period trailing 3-1 after Cal Burke’s goal with 7.1 seconds left. They lost 5-2 after cutting the deficit to 3-2 in the opening minute of the third period."

I'm taking my son tonight to his 1st gopher game tonight. He's 4 and we live in Madison, but I'm doing my best to make sure he is a gopher fan. He can't wait to go and wear his gopher jersey to the game. Hoping for a big win tonight to solidify his status as a gopher fan.

Caufield: These next couple of weekends are going to be big for us. I don’t even think we’re doing it for standings or anything anymore. We’re doing it for us.

https://madison.com/wsj/sports/college/ ... e899b.html

Always get nervous when your squad's highly drafted players start talking like this. Even if it's unitentional, you wonder what they're thinking down the line.

I hope he is thinking, "I want to show Montreal that I am ready to join the big club immediately after we lose in the first round of the B1G playoffs so I can get out of this he!!hole." After K'Andre Miller is taking misconduct penalties in losses to the golden helmets, you better believe he has one skate out of the Kohl Center rink already too.

Hopefully we are focused and can put in same effort as we did against OSU! For a last place team sconnie isn’t easy to sweep, and still have scary talent. We’ll need solid goaltending!

It would be nice if they would have Gophers games on local tv. NCAA Hockey Miami (OH) vs. St. Cloud State is on channel 9.2 or Fox9+ tonight. I will most likely just listen on the radio or go to the bar to watch it. Looking forward to a Gophers sweep this weekend. Go Gophers!

Well, I think it is clear the team hasn't quite turn the corner. This has been so rough since the Gopher goal.

Come on Gophers!

If Wisconsin-Madison is the state's most prestigious university and the state itself is known as The Dairy State, does that mean UW is Bovine University?

If you mean are the Wisconsin fans expressing their desire to expand their love of barn yard animals to zebras, then yes

Apparently it hasn't been the only call that was missed though.

And honestly I would gladly trade that non-call to erase that bad call against Sheehy at the end of last year.

LaFontaine was fighting the pucks all night and giving up rebounds, so good on tBob for making the switch. The Brodzinski goal was a thing of beauty. Keep pushing

Well that ref is on the ice tonight.....

It doesn’t erase what happened last year though. Not even close.
