It must be difficult for him to be conversing with people when he clearly has far superior knowledge on every subject under the sun. For the life of me, I can’t figure out why I unblocked him. Won’t make that mistake again.

19 Fr./So. and 3 Sr. I realized they were young but seeing it right there....wow.

How does Bob get out of a cycle of having so many new Fr. coming in every 2-3 years? I realize that's a pretty loaded question given how many moving parts there are and the inevitable unknowns that come around every off-season but...
Currently under construction.

I think some of that age issue will resolve with Bob being here for 4 years and having recruited everyone. You'll always have early departures (hopefully, as that means top end talent), but I think two things will happen naturally the next couple of years:
1) Bob will recruit a mix of talent a bit different than what we've seen int he past - a few more likely to stick around 4 years (I think)
2) New coach typically means younger talent that fits the new system dominating the roster, not heavily true here, but I think there's some of that

How that impacts the cycle, I think it will even out as we 1) keep a few more people a litle long and 2) we're not filling whatever holes Bob sees based on his recruiting expectations

Not much he could do about it for this year being we had 8 Seniors + Pitlick and Robson. Hopefully in a couple of years he'll have it balanced out better. I don't recall Jan Brady being excessively young.

You put together a successful team that the players enjoy playing for and maybe the better ones stick around an extra year like Perunovich/Bjugstad/Haula/Boeser(probably could've went pro after 1 year)/Gaudreau. I think the model for the U of M is to find some blue chippers while also finding talented players that don't meet all of the NHL scout heuristics, Boston College was pretty good at that for a while and I don't think it's impossible for Motzko to figure out a similar model for success.

Allowing the high numbers was a no brainer by Bob. Welcome to the 21st century.
Lead us out of Loserville, Bob.
103 big four seasons with no finals appearance
Times advanced in playoffs last 15 seasons: Vikings 3, Wild 2, Twins 0, Wolves 0
1967 last football conference title, 1982 last basketball conference title, 2003 last hockey national championship

I can't say whether or not it's a "big" team and take the heights with a grain of salt, but only two guys under 5'11" that both probably won't play much seems pretty rare.

12 guys over 200lbs, that has to be bigger that most years. Surprised Wait is listed at 200

I'm not. He's 21 now, he came in about 170, added 15 lbs first summer and another 15 this past summer. Neither of his parents are little either.

Beyond pumped for the CC trip.

Went back and looked at non-MN, non-current Big Ten opponent/arena trips since the end of 2012-13 and this year's is the most appealing to me from a location perspective:
Philly
BC/NE twice
Alaska schools
Clarkson/SLU
UND (GF + Vegas)

I was at NU/BC Thanksgiving weekend 2016 and that's one of the most fun trips I've ever been on.

Not that it matters much, but why is Phillips immediately eligible with PSU? With two years of eligibility left I doubt it’s due to graduation.

Question:
Worst TV viewing experience: 1. Gold painted ice sheet. 2. Watching a game at Denver about 10 years ago?!?

I think at last count I have around 30 NFL jerseys, 20 hockey, and 2 baseball. Most are outdated/etc.I think my most prized one is a Testeverde TB creamsicle. :D Such a hideous beautiful jersey.

Dumb question: what is the tie to Casey and that jersey? That’s the joke I missed.

Agreed that those jerseys were hideous though.

Did anyone get an email in regards to tickets for the “premier” games going on sale to gopher score members yesterday? I thought yesterday was the day and I never received any update from the U.
I did recently update my email preferences to only get hockey emails so I wonder if that messed something up.

So far the new website is not great as far as reliability. I'm unable to check these tickets and I'd think for sure my score is high enough.

I haven't been able to check available seats for season tickets in weeks because I get an error message every time.

I also don't see my Gopher score anywhere on the website and my order history gives an error despite a 7 game mini pack order. Makes me feel like the order could be lost.

Okay so overall I'd say the site is crap.

According to this site it’s the 16th - 18th staged based on your score. Gen pop the 23rd.

Starting to see some more consistency to lines at the last couple skill sessions. Reedy has been back skating this week, but is still working his way back.

27 McLaughlin - 9 Walker - 21 Burke
58 Ranta - 39 Meyers - 7 McManus
17 Wait - 25 Perbix - 22 Brodzinski
11 Sorenson - 24 Nelson - 12 Marooney - 13 Munson - 19 Reedy

I'm seeing Ryan Johnson and Jackson LaCombe both working on their off side as defensemen. The only right shot D are Nanne and Stucker. We're seeing a pair of Zuhlsdof-Nanne together quite a bit.

Countdown to Puck Drop will be 1 to 3 with locker room tours, autographs, open skate and the team has a practice scheduled following the event.

Thanks for posting this. Hope Ranta can step up this year, looked like he had a pretty good international tournament over the summer. That would give us a solid top two lines. Where is Weber fitting in?

He's been around the rink but I haven't seen him on the ice yet. Probably will get a better idea later in the year.

He had an eye injury that he feared would impact his standing at the Air Force Academy.

The difference between how Don used Reedy vs Motzko is interesting, he was on the first like with Rem and CM as a freshman. Obviously he was injured last year so who knows what to expect this year. I'm not gonna make too much of practice line combos but it'll be interesting to see what he brings this year (same with McManus).
<GophDogFan> yep, so sad... you have a new moment, when your uncle gets mad because you got the best of him. the last straw was when i told him that UND's hockey program is like crystal pepsi: Nobody every liked it.
