Amphetamines. Weren't banned in baseball until 2006. They used to be out in the open in the clubhouse, and estimates of how many players used them range as high as 85%.

If drug use is going to be a bannable offense re: the Hall of Fame, you might as well bulldoze Cooperstown right now.

This is what I thought of when you said greenies:

That Bill Murray rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" was downright awful. Slipping in and out of Daffy Duck voice was a bad bad choice.

Russell spent that entire at-bat trying to crush one out of the park. Cost him 3-4 pitches that he fouled off that were mistakes.

The point is the rendition was absolutely terrible but your high opinion of who did it is clouding your judgement. I'm a huge Bill Murray fan too btw.

Have you not seen past 7th inning stretches at Wrigley? This wasn't even close to a bad performance/tacky performance overall.

Now they get Kluber tomorrow against Lackey, a clear favorite for Cleveland.

Ya know, I would be very okay with the Cubs winning (more for the little old ladies and guys who have waited their whole lives). But I'm starting to think the giant 25 foot long/4 foot tall Indians banner in my living room says otherwise.
I was rooting hard for the Indians in 2007 when they pooped 'em.

You have a what in your where? I want photos.

I posted a pic here a while back. It was one of the team banners that adorned the facade around the inside metrodome.
Someone here has the Cubs one. (That I got for them...)

I just see this series going 7 games. 2 great teams, 2 great managers. Btw Smoltz is a very good analyst.

Personally I think Joe Buck knows he is hated. And knows the only reason he has a job is because of his dad. So he'll play the role of the villian and have fun with it.

I know his dad made it. And it should have stayed that way. Jack, is the reason Joe schmoe has a job.

Happy to see Cleveland win last night. I'm really sick of all the fawning over the Cubs.

Even though Cleveland has a 2 games to 1 lead, I still think the Cubs will win the series. Hope I'm wrong.

He tried to use the "We'll see you tomorrow night!" call in a game a year or two ago, I forget which series it was.
I'm assuming that's what Cowgirl was referencing.

I didn't see anything in Game 1 to show that the Cubs have a chance against Kluber

Pretty sure it was the David Freese homerun. I hate Joe Buck and he has done or said a ton of things that have pissed me off. Paying tribute to his father is not one of them.

Buck obviously doesn't get it since there aren't a lot of national announcers that elicit the severe level of disdain that he does. You don't need to be a Vikings fan to see his calling Moss disgusting a moment in douchebaggery. Also he calls far, far more games that don't include a local team and he still managers to annoy me with nearly every spoken word. Before him it was Tim McCarver.

How dare he honors HIS father, he should've asked for everyone's permission first to use the Kirby home run call.

The fact that the guy can find a way to make himself a victim despite being handed a great life for no reason other than who his father is, pretty much says all that you need to know about Joe Buck.

I'd like Cleveland to win. Let that city have an awesome year.

Chicago wins enough titles in pro sports. The last MN pro title happened when I was two which doesn't even count, so I don't really care if the Cubs haven't won in a million years.
