So Detroit got 2 #1s, a #3 and a backup QB for a career average QB at the end of his career, plus they’re guaranteed those will be decent picks as the Rams won’t be better than .500 with Stafford at QB.

The end of his career? He's only 32. He's still probably got 4-5 quality years left in the tank and LA is clearly in win-now mode with the talent they have on defense. I may be higher on Stafford than others but IMO this is a significant upgrade and makes them favorites in the NFC West next year.

The other thing to factor in: Goff's contract was HIDEOUS. So they probably had to throw in added value to get any team to take it.

There’s no doubt that the key here is dumping Goff’s awful contract . McVay obviously thinks he can rehabilitate Stafford and maybe he can. Stafford has all the keys for a great QB except he makes the wrong decisions in important situations. It may work out well for LA in the short term but that’s a lot for give up. Who knows maybe Stafford has a career rejuvenation there.

I was looking, but missed that part. I presume those purchases must be BEFORE the game, so if KC wins, he's gotten a bunch of extra sales that people were likely to make at some time, but maybe not at HIS stores... so, he drops 3 Million as an insurance policy and basically writes the whole thing in to taxes as a 3 million dollar cost.

For anyone that thinks this is improper, please remember that every big jackpot event that happens with sports... the Field Goal from the 50 yard line... free-throw from the opposite circle... anything like that where the prize is of any real size... the organizers are working with an insurance company. They buy a 100,000 dollar policy to cover the 1 million payout or whatever. Which is why the rules on those things are so touchy. The insurance company actuaries are the ones who decide the odds based on very specific rules.

I think for pro football, Brady is the Goat. It is always hard to compare sports against each other especially in different era's.

I think on both the PI calls, that you can't say it was uncatchable because the hit was a good two steps before the ball got there, which is why they were called.

Given how things have been called in the NFL the last few seasons, I'm a bit surprised the smack to Mahome's helmet wasn't called just now, though. (Not that I think that particular hit should be a penalty, being very much incidental contact, but, that kind of contact does seem to get called)
