AB, NE Patriots here. We win Super Bowls. Here's how it's going to go. The GOAT will tell you what route to run and you will run it. After the play hand the ball to the ref. Open your mouth once, tweet, instagram whatever and you will be bagging groceries in Des Moines by week 4. We clear?

Re: NFL NEWS
Although I consider myself a half full, conspiracy theory guy, I don't buy it that AB had this all planned out. It was starting to go sideways in Pittsburgh, and even though he is a multi millionaire , I don't think he would purposely drop that much money to pull this off. You knew if anyone would sign him this year, it would be NE.
Re: NFL NEWS
I don’t buy the conspiracy here, when Brown became available for only money (no trade) then BB signed him. BB and Brady have created a culture there that can afford to take chances like this. The pats are in a no lose situation. One of 2 things will happen, he will play great and not rock the boat or he will
act like he has been and they will release him immediately. 9 million signing bonus to Kraft is like $50 to us. Well worth the risk.

The Pats can afford to take this gamble. I wouldn’t take it, AB is taking on water at a breakneck pace. These types of situations are usually indicative of serious mental health issues. If he shows up wearing fatigues and speaks of “ Going to War!”, keep him away from the kitchen knives.

It would be interesting if Brown orchestrated this to get out of Oakland and go to New England. He certainly signed quickly after getting released. Maybe this was his plan. By that I meant, they have multiple receivers who could implode at any time. BUT they did reign in Randy Moss so....
Assuming all are behaving, how do you game plan for receiving corps? Who's the 1,2,3 and 4 receiver? I think on any given week it could be totally flip flopped, because they can.

Re: NFL NEWS
They will stay in line because they want the ring. If they get in the spotlight of the SB they can parlay that into more money down the line. If they can hold it together for a season they have glory. Seeing as NE is in the SB every other year with or without them they also know they have zero power.

AB was an underdog when he came into the league. Then he gets paid, and he turns into a diva. He went after his teammate Ju Ju last year because he won the team MVP. I stayed away from him in all my fantasy leagues this year, and I normally don't root against people, but I hope he crashes and burns in NE.

I also didn’t understand why they went from an extra 15 minute quarter to a 10 minute OT. If another 5 minutes eliminates even 1 out of every 4 ties it’s worth it. This has to either be TV driven or they are actually fine with a few tie games.

Re: NFL NEWS
I'm going with "no"
Doesn't mean they might not be second on the list currently, but there's a pretty good gap between them.

Re: NFL NEWS
Packers and Patriots, in that order. One being more a homestate thing, and the other being they are in my team's division.

Re: NFL NEWS
Never really hated the Pats, myself. I completely understand why people do, but other than the camera thing with the Jets way back when, they've never really bothered me too much.

Re: NFL NEWS
I just hate 'em because they keep winning the division titles that OBVIOUSLY should belong to the Buffa--

I tried to say that with a straight face, and couldn't. Of course, it could be worse. We're not MIA or NYJ.

Re: NFL NEWS
It isnt like ties happen that often. Since 1974 (when sudden death was put in) there has been 25 ties total out of over 570 OT games.

They seem to be happening more often. Like multi pitcher no hitters. Haha

Re: NFL NEWS
Could easily be a statistical blip, but, from 2012-2016 (after the last OT rule change), there were 5 ties over 5 full seasons. So far, in one full season plus one week with the 10 minute OT, we've seen 3.Handyman wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10 1:23 pmIt isnt like ties happen that often. Ties are fine in the regular season. Wish the NHL still had them.

Re: NFL NEWS
Story came out this morning that the accuser offered him a 2 million dollar settlement and he rejected it. So now she's taking it to civil court (not criminal). She's meeting with the NFL tomorrow IIRC.Slap Shot wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10 9:08 pmOops!frozen4champs wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10 8:03 pmAntonio Brown accused of rape in lawsuit.

What a cluster F of a situation.
He must feel like he is going to be able to get cleared if a $2 million settlement was all it took to make it to away.
