Certainly going to be interesting to see if they're able to swing a trade for Devin Booker with #1 overall as the centerpiece.

Maybe this is the turn for 2020 because MN actually getting the #1 pick feels like winning the Powerball.

I wouldn’t call it winning the Powerball-like this year. No consensus stud and no sure way to see who might develop. Trading it for the Suns best player seems like a pipe-dream.

Wolves organization is a joke and I don't think too many people would miss them if they left under new ownership. Top players don't want to come here/stay here.

Haven’t watched more than 10 minutes of the NBA playoffs. The league has evolved into a JOKE. LaBron & his 2 buddies here & 2 buddies there will form a team every few years. As HARD as he tries, he will NEVER be MJ...by a country mile.

Minneapolis/LA Lakers gonna make it 17 titles and tie Boston. Closest thing a MN basketball team will get to a championship is the asterisks mentioning the titles that happened here. I'll take it.

Please, please, please, trade down.
Wiseman essentially quit on his team.
Ball & Edwards couldn't guard a chair.
We have already seen how things go when KAT doesn't get along with a player. Have Karl make the choice. 🤔

It sounds like they are trying to move down to 3 (trade with Charlotte) by getting them to believe Golden State will take Wiseman. If they can move down to 3 and get the leftover of Ball and Edwards while accumulating more stock to potentially move up to 6 (rumors I've seen had been that they were interested in moving back into the lottery with Atlanta - I'd seen rumors that they were looking at trading #17 and Jarrett Culver).
Getting out of this draft with Edwards/Ball at #3, another pick at 6 (maybe a guy like Okongwu to play alongside KAT down low) they should be very happy.

They'd end up with a talented and very young team.

I'm not all that excited about any of Edwards/Ball/Wiseman. I'm sure the Wolves would love to trade down, but it's almost impossible to do. Of the three, I guess Ball if I had to pick. My gut feeling is that it will be a replay of last year where they try to trade down, can't do it, then throw their hands up and take another shooting guard in Edwards that doesn't amount to much.

The guy I probably like the most is Tyrese Hailiburton, but if they can't trade down--and Hailburton has risen enough that there are fewer options to do so--I'm not sure they'll have the balls to go that off the board with their pick.

Haliburton is one of the names I've seen mentioned if they get back to #6 actually. But that would probably mean they're trading #1 for another post guy and then rolling with DLo, Beasley, Haliburton as their 3 guard rotation.

If the Wolves want to show they're a destination and not a journey they need to prove they're not afraid to pick #1 and just take Ball and run with it. Send a message, grab another key piece and build the damn thing. Unless they somehow receive an offer than can't refuse that makes much more sense get it done.

Ball really doesn't want to be bothered by playing D
Same with Edwards & their 2 " foundations" really aren't all that interested in. D.
Jordan, James, Magic, Jabbar, etc are or were outstanding offensive players. Playing tough, hardworking, honest D set them apart as great players.
With 5 people on the floor a good team can have maybe one not be working hard on D. 3? Not a chance.

I checked the ESPN draft tracker and thought the same thing. The NBA does the draft weird. It was originally the Wolves pick, it was traded to the Knicks, who then traded it to the Clippers. Oturu is going to join Amir Coffey in LA. I don’t get why they post it like that.

IIRC it's something to do with their salary cap structures.

Wolves leave the draft with Anthony Edwards (IMO the best option if they were planning to keep him, which obviously they were), Ricky Rubio, Leandro Bolmaro, and Jaden McDaniels.

McDaniels is a very intriguing pick. He's 6'9" with a 7' wing span. Had some brilliant flashes as a freshman in college. Needs to pack on 25-30lbs to be a real force in the post but with his wingspan he could be a quality post defender. He averaged 1.6 blocks per game in his one year in college.
Bolmaro is supposed to be a very solid wing defender and a very good playmaker offensively.
