Chip Scoggins was saying yesterday that our OL is rated by some people to be the best in the Big 10 after Ohio State. A very veteran group.

I love watching teams that just physically destroy at the lines. I hope the boys can pound that rock against Ohio St. and send a message.

The Gophers have some stiff competition for that distinction. If the Gopher offensive line can get to the level where Iowa and Wisconsin are at on a year in year out basis, the future will be bright.

Coach Fleck discussing Blaise Andries in August 2017:

Blaise Andries: July 2021.

I like what Blaise had to say and how he said it about transfer LB Jack Gibbens. :club:

That was funny. I have a feeling Jack is going to be very good based on how Blais reacted, when he thought of Jack’s name.

That was one of those telling moments where what Blaise said along with his body language really spoke volumes.

I’m just glad he was tackled. Any time they use the words non-contact knee injury it’s season ending. Hopefully he’s ok but ‘bent backwards’ doesn’t sound so good either.

Autman-Bell’s injury aside (hopefully it’s nothing serious) how are we predicted to do this year? It seems like most fans are pretty excited about this season and are I feel like I’m hearing positive things. Are we supposed to be at least decent?

Offensive line has 7 starting quality players returning including two likely draft picks, Ibrahim, Potts, and Wiley returning plus a couple freshmen that were/are very explosive.

Pass catchers are going to be important. We've got a lot of talent out wide but they're all inexperienced except CAB.

Defensively we'll see. Boye Mafe is a phenom. Oliver is back which should help the LB group and we added Jack Gibbens who has received high praise so far.

Our secondary should be solid as well based on the guys returning.

Obviously anything can happen but as of now I expect the team to compete for the Western division championship.

What does ticket availability look like right now for the OSU game? For some reason I am blocked from checking out tickets even when using my VPN.

Also how much is a student season pass for FB? My son is interested.

Thanks

For the students $99. Or add basketball for 175.

As for OSU last I heard it was down to about 2500 tickets left

That's about what it was when I was a student in the early 10's, good on them for not jacking prices up on the students.

Haven't been paying too close attention to the injury situation. Do we know if Autmen-Bell is playing tomorrow?

Reusse is up to his old tricks again. He basically makes it sound like OSU is beatable (I get no team is invincible but they are hella good) and if they do manage to beat OSU it's no reason to get excited.

If they do beat them, it is definitely a reason to get excited. Haven't won against Ohio State in 10 years, IIRC and they are coming off a NCAA Runner Up. They may be "down", but are still a top tier program with tons of talent.

Fleck just holding it tight to the vest. Beyond CAB, there is no one tested. I doubt he plays and if he doesn't, let him rest against Miami too.

I feel sad people give that guy the clicks.

I hear fOSU is starting a RS freshman at QB. If there is ever a time to play the Bucknutz right out of the gate, I guess this is the year. The Gophers need improvement on D from last season or the CAB injury won't matter.

Agreed. The D hopefully picks it up with more practice. Heard good things about the transfer at LB and some of the talent on the DL with the older kids and transfers.

The WR corp at OSU is going to be top notch, so even though a RS Freshman at QB, he won't need to be as tight if the DBs can't cover

I'm going to get excited anyway. I do long for the day that I wouldn't be excited about beating OSU. I think that is probably impossible. Even if we won the National Championship here I think I would still be excited about beating them.

OSU is only an 8 point favorite?

Edit: I thought it was too good to be true. I was grabbing my keys to drive to Iowa to place a bet when I checked the line.

I'll give you Michigan.

But nothing matches my level of Hatred for Wisconsin!!! Iowa is on the same 2nd tier level as UND (for me anyway). Then it is Michigan, SCSU and a few others.

Bucky :chainsaw: :chainsaw: :chainsaw:

Don't get me wrong, still excited for tonight and hoping for the best. I would just still much rather beat UW and/or than OSU. But hey... beating all 3 would be ... hahahaha... Delicious!

What's the return at -8? 30%?
With a teaser, it is usually paired with at least one other bet.

So say you want to bet the OSU vs Minnesota game along with Clemson vs Georgia AND the Twins game tonight.

You can tease them all together and take points off the spread to make it more likely to win your bet.

Payouts on teasers are greatly impacted by the number of teams/games in the teaser along with the spread change. The more games and the lower the tease, the better payout.

Usually a 2 team teaser with 4-6 points will be like -120 or -130 (bet 120 or 130 to win 100). Based on gg13's post, he probably took a 6pt teaser with I assume 2 teams minimum. If he took a 3 or 4 game teaser with a 6pt swing, he'd probably be getting somewhere in the +225 or +250 range (win $250 on a $100 bet)

The payout only comes if every part of the tease hits.

Tonight's game officially a sellout.

Did they do free tickets for freshman? Hoping the students show up too. The atmosphere should be electric.

I don't think freshmen got free tickets - I bought my son a seaon pass for $99. There was a rally last night for freshmen at The Bank.

My coworker's son is a Fr. at the "U" as well and was at the rally last night. She said his roommate has season tickets for $100 and her son was trying to get season tickets.

They’ve been doing that ever since they moved into the on campus Stadium. Bring all the freshman together and put them in a “M” at mid-field.

I did OSU -8 and the Under 74 on the Boise/UCF game (actual line is O/U 68). It's 10 to win 9.50-something, just under even money, maybe -115

Feel like I've been living under a rock. Why in the world are we playing Ohio State to begin the season? Shouldn't it be the Ohio Bobcats?

The color commentator is absolutely right. Maybe put the guy who just made a great TD catch out onto the field.
