You like that!!!!

What got lost in last season with the extremely poor defense the Vikings had was over the last 10 games last season Cousins threw 24 TDs and just 3 INTs.

So far this this season he has 5 TDs and zero INTs in 6.5 quarters.

29 to 3 is a Rodgers/Brady like stat!!!

Over this time Cousins has the most 2+ TD passing games and in more than half the games (7 of his last 11 games) he's had at least 3 TD passes.

It’s the Holy Spirit… ;-)

Cousins actually goes to the same church as I do. And it’s nice seeing people letting him be. I’ve never seen someone ask for an autograph or bug him because he’s an NFL player.

That was poor clock management at the end of the half. Acted like a 50 yard FG try was good enough for us. Then gave them plenty of time to get into FG range themselves.

The announcer that kept saying 'reciprocate' when he meant 'replicate' is turrible.

Sounds like there's as many Vikings fans in AZ as there was Gophers fans in CO.

Pick 6!

And that ladies and gentlemen is why the term "Minnesota Vikings" can be used both as a noun and an adjective.

So smart not calling a time out there. Players have been so conditioned to expect it they almost seem less focused since they figure the real shot is yet to come.

Missing that Kick is the definition of what’s wrong worth this team. One legacy is their kickers choking in the big moments since 1998. You can’t make this sh-t up!

Kirk came through? The offense scored 3 points in the 2nd half. I’ll credit him for getting them in position to win at the end but his 2nd half wasn’t awe inspiring.

I believe they were 1 for 9 on 3rd down conversions until the last drive.

The offense scores enough points to win if the kicker makes a chip shot, this was actually one of Kirks better games.

Listened to about a quarter of the Viking game today and the same of yesterday's Gopher game. There is no comparison between the two.....the Gopher broadcast is so professional.

Not seeing any blame on the D for giving up 30+ points. Kirk did fine. Kickers miss kicks. Danielle rocked, but the rest?

I knew the Vikings were toast when they immediately gave back a two-touchdown lead. A good team would have turned that early nice margin into a win. A team with a crappy defense gets walked and gives the lead back.

I haven't heard yet who Zimmer blamed for this loss.

Yeah he made a lot of good plays to get them to FG range and had a good game overall. Kyler Murray was unreal and Kirk kept right up with him. Can’t blame him for that one.

Kickers miss kicks but missing a game winning 40 yard FG (don’t remember the exact distance) in an indoor stadium is a pretty ridiculous way to lose.

Considering it would have been a tie game at that point if not for the missed extra point, makes it even more ridiculous.

Fair or not, Kirk will be judged on this drive.
Kirk came through tonight…then Joseph :censored: him, Zimmer & the rest of the team, plain & simple.

Not seeing any blame on the D for giving up 30+ points. Kirk did fine. Kickers miss kicks. Danielle rocked, but the rest?
Kickers miss kicks but missing a game winning 40 yard FG (don’t remember the exact distance) in an indoor stadium is a pretty ridiculous way to lose.
So is giving up 30+ points for a supposedly top D-minded team.

There's a team in CFB right now who never punts. Maybe we should be the first team in NFL history to never kick.

That’s not the point or issue Scooby, Kyler appears above average and LOSES if Vikes Kicker doesn’t choke. We’re not absolving Cousins for all his poor performances the past 3 years, we’re saying that in this particular game & especially the final drive, he did enough to win. The kicker who made a couple long kicks, yo miss a 37 yard kick is why they lost this particular game. Not Kirk this game.

Kyler has a little ways to go. He either burns out running like he does, or he becomes the next Russell Wilson.

Yeah, he did enough to win. But, he never goes for the jugular early when he has the chance.

As a Bears fan, I appreciate the deep running desire to blame the QB for everything. I've ridden that train to every stop and back. Cousins has not been the problem this season. Yesterday especially. You put up 30 points you should be able to win. You get your kicker to proximity of extra point range (indoors), you should be able to win.

Be careful what you wish for, I have a bag of used QBs I can send your way and one is a Super Bowl MVP.

The sack Danielle Hunter had on Kyler near the end of the game when Kyler tried to run around the end and Hunter grabbed his jersey and just said "Uhhhh no" to Murray and stopped him in his tracks with one arm while Murray was almost at full speed? That was ridiculous

Its a team game, I don't understand the rush to blame any one person for a loss like that game.

Extremely poor clock management at the end of the first half to allow the Cardinals to get back in FG range, is that the QB or Kickers fault? Giving up a huge play on 4th and 5 to allow Arizona to take the lead again late, is that the QB or Kickers fault? Several 3rd down plays where a pass is thrown behind the line to gain and either dropped or tackled immediately with no chance for a first down... Did the kicker do that?

There is plenty of blame to go around. Yeah, he could've made the kick and they would've won. Had he not hit two 52 yard FGs, they wouldn't have even been in that position. Drives stalled and they needed to rely on the kicker, and he got the points then. I get he also missed a PAT and FG to put them in the position they were in, be isn't the only one deserving some shade after that game.

It is the butterfly effect, or whatever it is called. You chance any one of those things earlier in the game and who knows what happens. It's not any one person's fault. The Vikings lost, because they did Vikings at key points in the game.

That's what QB's sign up for. No position in football affects the game more. No position gets paid more. Kirk gets a lot of money to play like a check down charlie game manager.

It's like any other sport. The mean number of wins is probably 6-8 and the standard deviation separates the playoff bound teams.

The Vikings make too many mistakes to win close games. Last week it was penalties and a fumble. This week it was kicking problems and shoddy defense (despite an INT return for a touchdown). Behind it all is a mediocre game-day coach who hasn't separated himself as a premier head coach in the league.

I think that's exactly what's missing from this discussion. It has been a trend with the Vikings for years. Vikings have lead in second half. Never score again or score very little. Blame the Defense or the kicker in the end.

These things happen and putting your focus there ignores the fact the offense spotted the defense a 17 point lead (should have been 18) that the defense gave away, had 0 turnovers, put up 419 yards, and put the team in position to win with a PAT distance FG. Indoors. Sadly the punting was not always great, the K left 4 points on the field, the clock management by the coaching was at times comical, and the defense gave up 474 yards.

I think offenses are going to be giving up a lot of yards playing against the Cardinals.Would have been nice to stop some more of the points but as it is the defense did make a few key stops. It wasn't a complete disaster on that side of the ball. Offense in the second half, however? Complete crapshow. Especially the non-existent running game.

iirc Cook got his (ankle?) pretty well banged up. JJ missed some easy balls and I did not like the fact they didn't try to move closer when they had plenty of time and a TO to do so.

This game reminds me why I don't go out of my way to watch Vikings games overseas and went I protest of my wife would make plans for us on Sundays when I was still in Minnesota.

Nobody is saying anything good about the defense. You’re reading into this something that isn’t there. The bad defense is so obvious I don’t feel the need to bother with it.

Cousins has a base salary of $21M and people seem to think since he had a good 1st half that it’s OK to be mediocre in the second half of a close game.

If you’re going to chew, up at a minimum, 1/9th if the entire salary cap then you have to expect holes elsewhere and be able to make up for it. He is not that guy.

I am not laying the loss on Kirk in any way, but he isn’t worth the cost. He is the opposite of clutch. He drove the field to put them in FG position, but only after a bleh 2nd half.

Cousins has a base salary....
His salary is immaterial to both losses. He helped the team be in position to win both games and is not responsible for either loss. The same can be said for several losses last season. Big picture. That is all that matters.

How about the holes made by the OL that allowed Cook to run for quite a few large gains on Sunday? It’s been a while since we’ve seen OL play like that.

I wouldn’t necessarily put a ton of alarm behind that statement since they only had one pick in the first two rounds and Darrisaw was injured prior. I would say it’s best that the Vikes have enough depth that late round rookie guys aren’t needing to play. If Darrisaw gets healthy he should be fine, but that’s no guarantee on both the health and ability front yet.

Our first round pick is injured, we didn't have a second round pick, our third round pick is a raw rookie QB.
Wyatt Davis is a backup G that plays on special teams, Nwangwu is on IR but would be a third string RB/kick return guy, Davidson is a backup TE that is currently on practice squad. Surratt is playing special teams because he's a backup LB. Jones is a DL behind Hunter, Griffen, Weatherly, Wonnum, Pierce, Tomlinson, and Richardson (he'd probably have seen a lot of snaps last year). Bynum is a backup safety behind two very good safeties. Robinson is on long term IR. Smith-Marsette has played sparingly on offense and is the primary kick returner. Twyman was shot this summer and is on Non-football injury list.

It's not hard to figure out why a bunch of 3rd-5th round picks aren't playing early in the year on a team that has quality players at most positions.

Not a single snap? For an 0-2 team that is 28th in yards allowed and has a barely serviceable OL? Sorry I'm not buying the depth argument. This was poor planning and drafting. Don't come to be after the fact and explain why you chose 11 guys and not one is worthy of cracking the 1st or 2nd team on either side of the ball.
