For how much Bud Grant had a reputation of being stoic on the sidelines, I think Burnsie was even more so.

Definitely a top five all time Minnesota sports character. He will be missed.

So they gave up Hughes to move from the 7th round to the 6th round in next year's draft.

No respect!

They'd already decided not to pick up his fifth year option, and trading him opens up a couple million in salary cap space for this season.

I hope he can stay healthy cuz he's got a lot of talent and seems like a good kid. Just couldn't stay on the field here.

1st round pick, correct? Knee injury and Buxtonitis?

Tore his ACL his rookie year in week 5 or 6. Then had a neck injury that made him miss the 2019 playoffs and all of last season.

When you’re MORE injury prone than Buxton, trading you for any draft pick & saving sone cap space is a solid move.

It's not like the Vikings blew it on the pick. The guy has had several serious injuries. What can you do?

Yeah, I get it. I just think you need to hit more often. Look at Gladney from last year. Big Whiff if he goes to jail. As it is he'll be sitting out a big part of the year.

He was actually playing pretty well down the stretch I thought. But obviously with his off-field douchebaggery I'd be pretty surprised if he plays this season (or even avoids jail time).

Reposting to the correct thread...

Considered the salary cap and contract guru in the NFL, Rob Brzezinski, seems to be working his magic again this season. The Vikings continue to slot in free agents and work with a significant salary cap reduction for this season.

Thought this was interesting as well.
No team has invested more Day 1 or Day 2 picks on the offensive line in the past four NFL Drafts than the Vikings.

The Defense is going to be much better just by default getting injured players back. With the additions made the depth looks to be in a good spot as well.

Vikes are not screwing around this off season. Sheldon Richardson is back and a very reasonable deal. And Danielle Hunter is signed and at Minnie camp.

Between Tomlinson, Richardson, and Pierce they should have a formidable defensive line wall. Allowing Hunter to rush QB. Should be fun to watch.

And a healthy Barr and Kendricks.

The D should be back after a season of being ravaged by injury.

I don’t know the details but if he was shot 4 times, someone wanted him dead. Does wrong place, wrong time mean he lost a game of hide and seek with someone who he needed to avoid?

Reports I've seen is that he was in a vehicle. Which is why his injuries don't require surgery.
