My only concern is if Vanek is ready to handle the dietary needs that Rossi is used to eating. After reading the Wheeler embedded article on Rossi, it seems like he's a disciplined kid. Vanek as we all know is a straw that stirs the drink.

So, there's some allegations floating around that Billy G was involved in keeping a sexual assault issue quiet with a coach when he was with the Pens AHL team.

Obviously it is all speculation right now and the Wild are hush on it, but if this is true, gotta imagine he's a goner

2. My gut tells me they will be in separate lines and then on the top PP.

Is the NHL committed to not having fans the entire season? It’s easy to play a game at 5pm local time with no fans. If they start allowing a couple thousand in to watch, they would probably want to make later times.

Outside of weekend games nearly everything is 6 or 7 pm local time. Just one weekday game earlier than 6 pm.

I was looking more at the games on the west coast that start at 5pm west coast time. The west coast games get the most complaints as puck drop isn’t until 9pm central.

I love the idea of 2 game series in the NHL.

Now if only Sinclair and YouTube TV would come to deal so I could watch more than 5% of our games this year...

Correct. There are only eight or so 7pm games on PT (9 CT). No 5 pm PT games.

Watching the Wild's scrimmage. They just had a penalty shot and they had a defensive player chase from the other blue line. Is that a new rule or are they just practicing chasing a break away?

Did they do it more than once?

Probably practicing breakaways at game speed for the goalies. Timing, ect. Which is much different than shootout breakaway pace.

They did it twice. The NHL should make it a rule change. Some the penalty shots are ridiculous.

Crap goal against with less than 2 seconds in the first. Pretty shaky goaltending there. In the second Dumba late covering his guy and then gets the assist for the Kings' second goal. Then they get one to bounce in from behind the net.

Wild not doing enough on offense, but boy what a bad start in the defensive zone.

Great OT. Great play by Kaprisov.

I liked what I saw especially in the 3rd. The combo of Fiala and Kaprisov is gonna be electric and Talbot was solid. So far so good.

Lapanta's dopey, rehearsed "Kirill the thrill is for rill" notwithstanding, that was quite an electric ending...poke check to self and off to the races. Looks like he biffed the puck right at the goal tender, but it went in.

The Wild won that third period by a good margin and deserved the win. Pretty rare to come back in the third from a 1-3 deficit, holding the other side to goose egg to boot.

I was texting with a buddy that 97 was going to be deadly in 3 on 3.
I didn't think it would be tonight after the long PP shift he had just had.
The early OT 4 on 3 PP with Parise in front with Spurgeon, Fiala and Kap was fun even tho they didn’t score.

Good to see the next generation of the Wild finally without 2 old centers and a fresh goaltending sitch. Throw in a 56 game season and this will be fun.

Also, as usual super solid game by Brodin, we are lucky to have him.

I knew the new division alignment was not kind to the Wild, but I didn't look that closely at it until just now. Why the frick are St. Louis and Minnesota in the West and not Calgary and Edmonton? How absurd and it's great the league decided to completely bend over 2 franchises.

Because all the Canadian teams are in their own division due to the travel restrictions between USA and Canada. Blame covid

I didn't get to watch... but the Wild won a game in 3ox3 OT, and they signed a veteran to a reasonable contract without a NMC/NTC ... maybe this is a new team :confused2:

I gave up after the 2nd period, as it was well past this old mans bedtime. I was pleasantly surprised that they won. I am not a fan of the Wilds plan on the PP. Having no true center to win face-offs on the #1 unit seems odd. When I was watching, I don't think the #1 PP unit won very many draws. I would add a center to the unit and then they can change him out with a defenseman if they want after the draw. It is just one game, so maybe it will work out just fine, but my 2 cents.

I went to bed when it was 3-1. Woke up this morning and saw video and physically recoiled at the Lapanta call. My niece would call it "cringe".

Now the question is, did he lose control of the puck and get lucky, or did he intentionally bank if off his skate without kicking it?

I think he got lucky the puck went in...but I am very encouraged by him basically jumping a lazy drop pass and taking it home. Very Datsyukian in his anticipation on that play.

That’s the type of puck luck...pure goal scorers have...and we haven’t had one of them since Gabby. It went in, nuff said

Haven't we been told for years that it's pronounced Kapri-ZOV? All I heard last night was LaPanta pronouncing it Ka-PREE-zov.

That's where I'm at. They're my #1 most hated company in corporate America right now.

I'd gladly give them like 10-15 bucks a month to give me a standalone FSN streaming service, if they'd like my money.

Until then, I'll be pirating streams.

Buy the phone or iPhone connector that goes into an hdmi. That’s what I used along with GE’s xfinity subscription. Works pretty well. Used it all summer to get Twins games at my cabin.

YouTube tv isn’t even that much less than xfinity anymore depending on what package from xfinity you get.

The price of YoutubeTV has definitely been going up, but I'm not going back to cable and their contracts, hardware fees, and miscellaneous other taxes and fees. I watched last night's game using NHL.tv and something called YonderTV that allows me to bypass the local blackout by modifying the DNS on my AppleTV.

I will have to look into that. My Buddy uses NHL.tv and signs in through his work VPN (out of state).

xfinity isn't an Option... MediaCOM, out here in the sticks, wants $120/month for a TV package that includes FSN and you HAVE to have a 2 year contract. Who is to say I don't sign that 2 year contract and they drop FSN too? That happened to me once already.

Not to mention the monthly "Rental" fees on their equipment, etc. Not ever going back to that. "Regional Sports Network fee" was previously on my DirecTV and Dish contracts, not included in their advertised price -- I imagine MediaCOM is the same. I am not paying $120/month for 128 channels I am not going to watch.

I was having issues with DirecTV, they said I needed to upgrade my equipment... They wouldn't just send it to me. I needed to pay a Tech $75 to come out an "install" it, new equipment had a higher rental fee (additional $2/month per piece), DVR became a monthly fee AND they wanted a new 2 year contract in order to get it. NOPE!

YouTubeTV suits our needs now, with the exception of FSN.

My vote is luck, but getting himself to the net wasn't luck.

I'm very surprised that didn't get reviewed. I don't think it was a kicking motion, but they didn't even mention they were looking at it so I assume they didn't.

I hear ya. I'm paying $110/month for a half a million channels, none of which is FSN. :ddown:

So happy I have cable and all the channels I need for Gopher hockey. The only one I miss and have contemplated upgrading for is NHL network but thus far Spectrum has served it’s purpose well and I’ve saved a lot vs when I had Dish. Of course I’m getting close to the end of my two year promo period so we’ll see what happens after that....

Same. I have Xfinity and get the NHL Network. They force a sports option for down reason. I dropped a different sports channel option and I lose things like nfl redzone and a bunch of non sports channels. Makes no sense.

I added nhl.tv to my streaming this year. I figured without the cost of my season tickets I could swing it. Very happy with quality of the streams of hockey games.

Are the wild looking at Pierre-Luc Dubois? He would certainly give us some much needed centre depth.

He would be what they need. The biggest issue though, do the Wild have enough assets that Columbus would want in return. My guess it would have to include Boldy, and are they willing to part with him. Plus from what I have read, PLD wants to go to a large market, and I'm not sure if MN qualifies as that.
