Gophers lose another. Transferred in last season, but was a redshirt senior
This is what Marcus Carr did last year. I don't expect him to get much draft hype.
I agree. Doesn't hurt to get your name out there and see what kind of response you get. I'm not a great NBA mind but my guess is there won't be any draft interest in him.

Yeah, he could always come back to us or transfer but doubt he goes anywhere exciting in the draft.

So, I admittedly don't follow NCAAB closely at all. But why are we so excited to get a transfer in from division 2 (Fox)? Did he just develop more than expected in college and is really that much better than D2? I see he was all-american so obviously good at that level. I also get he's a local kid. Just surprised as I figure if he was that good he'd have played D1 somewhere given how many D1 schools there are in BBall. Of course, he could have chosen to play D2 for fit with the school as well.

From recent history the B1G may be overrated.
If nothing else he maybe will be a rotational player.

It's a good pickup just based on his offer list and our lack of bodies. He obviously isn't going to score like he did at Northern State, but if he can be like a more polished and skilled version of Omersa then that would be good enough.

There is an interesting development in regards to our yet-to-be-announced third assistant coach, Jamie McNeilly. We know he is the uncle of Aggie freshman Cashius McNeilly who entered the transfer portal, but now the Aggies leading scorer and rebounder Emanuel Miller has entered as well. All three are originally from Toronto. Hmmmmmm

Gopher Basketball signs another D2 transfer. This team is going to be rough for awhile. Johnson is going to need 5 years just to not be the B1G punching bag.

I don’t get it. Only 1 returning player. I expected a handful of transfers but not this.

I assume he's referring to Parker Fox, who committed a couple months ago. Gopher basketball twitter just tweeted out a couple Welcome Home tweets about him today.

Incoming transfers are
Parker Fox (Northern State D2)
Peyton Willis (Charleston)
Jamison Battle (George Washington)
Sean Sutherlin (UNH)
Elyijah Stephenson (Lafayette)
Luke Loewe (William and Mary)

Carr, Mitchell, Johnson, and Omersa have not announced where they are going, Mutaf signed with a European pro team, and Gach hasn't decided where he's going (not sure if he's actually in the transfer portal yet).
Sounds like Freeman is transferring to Pacific, Liam Robbins is going to Vandy, Kalscheur to Iowa State, Tre Williams to Oregon State, and Mashburn Jr. to New Mexico.

If I'm not mistaken, Carr announced he was entering the NBA draft.

Pssst: Parker Fox, the 6-8 high-leaping incoming Gophers basketball transfer from Mahtomedi who is explosive at the rim, has suffered a serious knee injury that makes it unlikely he’ll play this year. Parker, who’ll have two seasons of eligibility with Minnesota, injured anterior and posterior ligaments.

Yeah, big ol' yikes. Stephen F. Austin had a decent team for a small conference, but this guy wasn't even a starter. He only played like 14 minutes per game.
