Michigan and Ohio St game canceled. Let’s see the maneuvering the B1G will do to get Ohio St a game this weekend or get them into the championship game without the number of qualified games.

Won’t they still play on the B1G championship? Or do you need 6 games for the conference championship?

The original rule was you need 6 games to qualify for the conference championship game. Ohio St will only have played 5 if they don’t play this weekend. The Big Ten brass is having a meeting tomorrow to discuss changing the rules for Ohio St.

I wonder if the CFB Playoffs would take them without winning the B1G?
Does the TV CFB NC $$$ get split up to all of the BCS conferences?

I'm fine with it. I look at it this way:
OSU missed 3 games (played 5 of the required 6) but only canceled 1 due to their situation (had 2 canceled on them)
OSU, at 5-0, would have been at worst 5-1 this weekend and still the East champs
OSU is the only B1G school with a shot at the CFP and if they miss that because they didn't play in a championship game which they missed because other teams had to cancel regular games... that would seem foolish.

Also, unless something has changed, bowl money is pooled across the B1G schools. Now, in a year with no fans, maybe that money isn't nearly as good but it has to be better out of the CFP games then regular lower bowls (not to mention if OSU wins a semi they get another game to play in).

I know Indiana would hate this, but in the world of what's right and best for all? I say let OSU play.

Certainly not a OSU fan, and normally lean toward following rules as they're written, but, when it plays out like this, it would be pretty ridiculous. This whole season is being figured out as it goes, so, making this particular adjustment certainly makes sense.

I agree for all the reasons cited, but I wonder if I would feel the same way if our Gophers were in Indiana's position.

Even if you count the last game as a forfeit OSU would be on the championship because they beat Indiana. At some point there has to be logic even if I was in Indiana’s position.

I was just looking at Army football's website. I counted 164 players on their roster. I don't really follow college football, but is that normal? That seems like an absurd number of players.

Iowa wide receiver is wide open and does a front flip into the end zone on a touchdown. Twists his ankle on the landing. Limps off the field and directly to the locker room. Genius.

Stinkeye WR celebrates a late TD against Wisconsin by flipping into the end zone. Grabs his ankles and limps tot the injury tent.

What a dumb way to miss the B1G championship.

I'd guess more than 120 is pretty unusual, but West Point requires every cadet participate in a varsity or intramural sport, so it's not that surprising that their roster is larger than most.

I'd have to check, but I'd guess Navy and Air Force likely do as well. Physical activity and teamwork, perfect combo for them.

Did a quick check, looks like Gophers are at 114, and Alabama is over 130. So, 164 is certainly on the high side, but, with the requirements at the academy, it makes sense.

It's a little less enjoyable because it's Iowa, but it's still enjoyable to watch the BADgers lose.

Florida stops LSU on third down and forces a punt late in the 4th of a tie game....but wait. Florida player, after the play, picked up the shoe of a LSU player, it had come off during the tackle, and throws it (per the ref!) 20 yards downfield.

Fifteen yard personal foul penalty, first down, and several plays later LSU kicks a FG to ta a three point lead with 23 seconds left.
Not sure I've ever seen anything as stupid as this.

EDIT - FL kicker misses FG as time expires so LSU wins.

Add in that it’s so foggy in Gainesville that they can’t use the sideline cameras and are showing the whole game using the wire mounted camera above the offense. Whole thing was odd.

LSU kicker still had to make a bomb 57 yarder with 23 seconds left. Florida had a chance for the tie with a 51 yarder and couldn't do it.

They’ve been itching for a reason to dump Gus for awhile. He’s one of six coaches to get 3 wins against Saban. This may backfire. Amazing the pockets donors in Alabama have.

The College Football Playoff is getting a bit tiresome. It’s Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State almost every year. This year it’s no different. It’s just interesting to watch the same teams every year with the same jackbag coaches.

They really should go to 8 teams. I've generally been against the expansion of playoffs in sports (particularly baseball and in the NFL) but it makes 0 sense to me to exclude half of the teams in D1 from a chance at the title because they don't play in the ACC/Big Ten/Big XII/Pac-12/SEC is dumb.

Go to 8. Any 2-loss or better Power 5 conference champ team gets spot (meaning they'd be 11-2 at worst), top rated non-P5 team gets auto bid, and two at-large teams. If more than 1 non-P5 team ends undefeated and ranked in the top 10-12, they're in the CFP (like this year with Cincy and Coastal).

If a team goes 9-3 and wins their conference championship they are eligible for at-large depending on final ranking but that conference loses their auto-bid and it becomes another at-large spot.

So theoretically this year (if everyone played the same number of games and don't lose their fake added games)
(1) Bama (13-0) vs (8) Coastal Carolina (in as they are #9 and 13-0)
(2) Clemson (12-1) vs (7) OU (Big XII champ 11-2)
(3) OSU (13-0) vs (6) Cincy (#6 and 13-0)
(4) Notre Dame (12-1) vs (5) Texas A&M (11-1)

Is it perfect? No. But it provides smaller schools a chance to be rewarded for a perfect season. In this scenario, Coastal Carolina going undefeated would knock Indiana out of the CFP with Indiana being 11-1 but not a conference champ so they miss out.

I’d question OSU at 3 given their schedule too. Unfortunately, no one was going to just flip Clemson and ND and have them play a 3rd time.

There’s a lot of I don’t care in this with the same top 3 per usual. If it’s Clemson v Bama again I won’t even watch.

IN got screwed as 3 loss teams make the NY6.
Harkens back to when MN would drop two bowl spots in the early 2000’s.

Really feels like OSU is the only team outside the B1G acknowledge.

Wicked brawl WAY after the Tulsa - Miss St bowl game, one Tulsa player helped off the field, a MSSU played kicked one in the face mask who was on the ground. Gonna be consequences.

I was trying to think of what consequences fit. Mike Leech interview made it worse. He is an irresponsible clown (he said something to the effect of "there was a football game and some guys got hit. Big surprise"). There were punches and stomping.

In additional to individual suspensions, Both teams need to be not-Bowl eligible for 1-2 years, for lack of institutional control. Leech needs a giant fine or fired. These players are representatives of their college and this is a privilege.

They’re not giving up bowl games but I could see players suspended for their first game next year. There was some nasty $h!t going down.

I do not expect the individual programs to offer to give up bowl games, this needs to come from the conferences/NCAA that they are not putting up with this nonsense. Several players were seniors -- I guess during COVID they may still have eligibility -- but otherwise they would not be impacted by suspensions. Although, criminal charges could certainly be considered.

The lack of institutional control was further supported by the statements made by Tulsa coach and his message of fighting -- I guess it doesn't stop at playing the game but includes assault and battery. What do you expect from someone who was plucked from the stench of Art Briles/Kenneth Starr era Baylor? If I were the Tulsa AD, I would say, "Mr. Montgomery, the great state of Oklahoma pays up to $490 per week of unemployment, I suggest you familiarize with the application process."

Not sure if you are aware that they moved it because of Covid this year. No fans/parents allowed in CA, so moved it to Texas.

At this point I just want Ohio St to win so someone can ask Dabo if Clemson should be ranked 12 after their loss to the #11 team (in his eyes).

At half it is tOSU 35 & Clemson 14. Good thing that Clemson didn't have to face a team Dabo thinks was more deserving or it might be more than a 21 pt deficit.

The fact that Fields was that good after that bone crunching hit (and that the LB isn't paralyzed) is insane.
