I bet Zimmer goes 3 runs up the middle, punts, and we lose in OT. Cause you have to play it safe. Heaven forbid a 1-5 team goes for the win.
Im so bored with conservative teams clinging to leads. :bored:

WTF..... going for 2 by GB?

Edit. Good if it works.
It’s math. Down by 14 if you score a TD, you have better odds of winning if you go for 2 than taking the 1.
Also a factor: Mason Crosby has been battling injury and the wind is nuts.

Rewatching the last minute of the game...

On the play where Erin clocks the ball, the left foot of #83 for the mold and gold is clearly offside. Should have been 5 yards and a 10 sec runoff. Didnt affect the outcome, but a clear miss by the zebras.

Yes it is but probably better known as the home town of one Carl Gerbschmidt.

I think Menards is technically in Eau Claire, but it is right on that border with Elk Mound.

3 punts in 4th qtr by the Vikings, but they built a lead & hung on for the Victory. Epic performance by Dalvin Cook 👍Sweet to end game on a strip sack fumble recovery by Vikings with ARog being the victim. As far as 2020 is concerned, that game was our Super Bowl Homeboy :biggrin2:

For me, as I was watching, the game was a little reminiscent of the Gophers' game two days before. A totally dominant running back finding huge holes, aided by great blocking, for big runs most of the game...until the 4th quarter when both Minnesota teams were protecting what seemed to be pretty comfortable leads. Then things started to change as the holes closed and the running game started to struggle. A combination of an opponents' defense defending better, knowing that our teams' play selection was designed to take time off the clock, and our dominant running back(s) tiring and not being able to break free like they routinely did during the first three quarters.

Of course the big difference in the two games was the Vikings D rising up at the very end, making the big play that they needed to put the game away, something the Gophers' D was sadly unable to do. Similar scripts in many ways, but radically different endings.

The sad thing is, the Vikings could very feasibly win 4 of their next 5 games with their upcoming schedule. Meaning they could be 6-6 through 12 weeks.
Detroit
@ Chicago
Dallas
Carolina
Jacksonville

Then @ Tampa
Chicago
@ New Orleans
@ Detroit

If the team plays like they did yesterday, this team likely finishes with 6 wins. Which probably means the 11-15 pick range.

Matthew Stafford goes on the Covid list. Will miss this Sunday’s game against the Vikings. If it’s played at all. Not helping the Vikings case to keep losing games.

I would definitely prefer to have Stafford over Cousins at QB but man Stafford is guaranteed 1 bad INT per game.

Also, that was a sad excuse for a block by Boone

I could have scored a TD on that play. Detroit’s D was so non-existent that Cook didn’t have to cut, was untouched and Ham didn’t even to block anybody.

25 in for 33 but it would be interesting to see 33 break an AP record with him (AP) watching.

You know it's 2020 when Cousins wins a MNF game.

You like that!!!

The Vikings now have beaten the Packers, Lions and Bears in consecutive weeks. Can we hang a November 2020 NFC North Championship banner?

3-1 in the division. This could be a key factor going forward.

Nobody would have predicted consecutive wins over GB, Detroit & Chicago 3 weeks ago. One game at a time, any given Sunday.

I think it was Bud who had a quote along the lines of, "It isn't who you are playing. It is when youare playing who you are playing." Vikings are a tough out right now.
Bears have a very very good front 7 & that makes for one strong D. Akiem Hicks, Mack, & Smith are all elite talents. Hicks getting dinged did enable the V run game to get going a little & move the sticks when they had bad field position.
Zimmer has his D coming around. The young line is getting pressure. Kendricks is very very good & Wilson has really played better than Barr was the last year.
I watched the young CB # 20 make a strong play in man on a screen pass in the 2nd half where he avoided being jammed up & came around to make the tackle on a screen to the Bear's right. The D is good enough to stay competitive IF the Vs are not playing from to far behind.
The offense the same can be said about in re: playing from behind. Get 2 scores up on them & it get after #8. Ugly! I like the WRs & Irv Jr. The OL had problems last night but that is the toughest front 7 they will face until they play them again.
Special teams? That's a mess. A hot, steaming mess.
I'll be watching them again. I watch as a FB wonk though.

It's entirely possible this team could finish 10-6 and make the playoffs. It's also entirely possible they could finish with 6 wins.

After they beat Green Bay I posted on Facebook that they're gonna end up 11-5.
Three straight extremely winnable home games. Then a trip to Tampa (probable loss, but....), home against Chicago, @ New Orleans (with the Brees injury news, I assume he'll be back but we'll find out). Then @ Detroit to end it.
Low end they're probably finishing with 8 wins as long as the key players stay healthy.

It all depends on which Vikings team shows up.

If the team that beat the Pukers in Lamebeau shows up, they could end up 11-5.
If the team that sh*t the bed against Atlanta shows up, they'll end up 4-12.

What they've done with the defense has been nothing short of extraordinary even if they've done it against some weaker offenses. Look at the players getting key playing time on D and it's nearly comical on paper. The special teams are a joke and the O line still leaves much to be desired (especially considering Cousins' limitations mobility wise) but they're not dead in the water. I wouldn't pick them as a favorite for anything significant, but they are well past the point of tanking and there aren't many dominant teams in the NFC. It's too bad they didn't address the OL more the past few seasons because with Cook, Thielen, Jefferson and Smith particularly the offense could be something to contend with.

I don't think Brees comes back for a while, fractured rib and punctured lung, ugh thats gonna be sore for some time and could impact his comfort throwing. He takes a few solid shots and that really starts to add up

Are the refs going to call Wilson for leading with the helmet at some point today or just let him headhunt? First on Cousins and then on Thielen.
