You were going to win if Washington won or lost by three and they lost by four? Vegas is scary good

Maryland's uniforms are hideous, but I wish they had a hockey team because if they wore the same helmet heads would splode.
Currently under construction.

I love the helmet, but I think the MD flag is awesome. The rest of the uniform is gross, agreed.

Saw an old pic a while ago of their club hockey team where the goalie pads was done like that, looked awesome

TN just tied it up at 7 in 'bama in Q1.
They should go ahead and declare moral victory now. Just saying....they may have poked the elephant.

Those pads are awesome. Change out the yellow jersey for red with black and yellow accents and that's a solid start to a uniform! Better than what CC wore last weekend

I already commented on it jerk ;)

I honestly didn't care I bet it on a lark and cause Oregon annoys me :)

Sports betting is only for making me care about games I normally ignore. Though having lived in Seattle on the UDub campus I do like that team a bit.

SJU about to beat future D1 UST for the second year in a row. Think there is one year left in the rivalry.
but, but, but they're too good for that league...lol
As a Johnnie and at the game today, I'll say:

Don't buy into the narrative fed by UST. UST is a large undergraduate and graduate institution closer in academic focus to Marquette, Creighton, or St. Cloud State. The rest of this MIAC schools are undergraduate liberal arts schools whose academic focus is more akin to Williams, Grinnell, and Ripon.

With UST winning the conference's all sports trophies for men every year for the past 8 years and women for the past 15, it's not just about football. UST is using it's resources for athletics well beyond everyone else. Glenn Caruso's football team is the straw that breaks the camel's back though-its one thing to be good and know it, another to flaunt it.

Finally, it's becoming more apparent that the MIAC expulsion is a way to gain sympathy for a UST waiver directly into D-I, and was engineered to play out that way so the MIAC schools see UST depart and UST gets to go where they want to be. I don't think the MIAC expected the blowback to be national however.

Yeah UST pretending they got persecuted is a joke. Hell one rumor I heard was they wanted this to happen so they didn't look like dicks when they chose to move up. They don't belong in that conference anyways.

The first GameDay at the U, if it ever happens, is not going to be a probably one third empty game against Maryland.

.0000001% chance that happens. LSU-Alabama is that day.

As for Maryland...I believe there is less than 7k tickets left if I read Ghole right and the weather is going to be nice so attendance should be fine.

They don't care on how many are at the game, just all the students in front of the set. I would bet more students would stand outside and be on TV and then go back to their dorms then go to the game.

Wisconsin getting rolled by tOSU is hardly a shock. Purdue getting punched in the face by the Illini at home is pretty shocking though. Brohm should have taken the Louisville job when he had the chance.

Plenty of help from the Star Tribune and MinnPost with the poor UST being too successful narrative that I don't understand. The commenters on those articles and on social amplified the message because that's what people do I guess.

GA Southern is 5-3 with two losses to top 15 teams this season. And won 10 games last year IIRC. They were never a cupcake of cupcakes like The Citadel or some of the other garbage teams i see get scheduled.

The playoff rankings are released for the first time on Tuesday. They usually vary from the AP poll and coach’s poll just to prove they’re “smarter.” I’m curious if they’ll keep LSU and Bama #1 & #2 just to promote that matchup this week.

His picture was linked to an article on espn.com too. :ahhh:

FSU paid Oregon $4.3 million to hire him (his buyout from Oregon, and the remainder of what Oregon owed USF). They now owe him roughly $18 million for the remainder of his contract, after the $5 mil paid to him last year.

They let him coach 21 games.

Talk about a quick trigger. Especially considering he took over a borderline dumpster fire.

So FSU took a flier on a guy who had short stint of success at Southern Florida and 1 year at Oregon, with someone else’s recruits. They had no idea what kind of a recruiter he would be and didn’t give him a chance to coach his own recruits.

Edit: Rivals shows 11/19 recruits were 4 star athletes.

Yeah, I am not sure what they expected in year 2 and a big price to pay to go and get someone else.

Can the BIG10 do the humane thing and relegate Rutgers? They're so pathetic. Such a bad addition in so many ways. I'm sure New Yorkers love watching them play football...

James Gandolfini is the only thing I can think of. I always thought Maryland brought some nice elements to the BIG, but it would have made more sense pair them with a university that brought more to the athletic/academic table. Maybe they are a wold class academic school, but I have just never heard of them in that light.

Maryland gives us access to Washington DC, as College Park is a DC Suburb. It allows us the B1G to have connections with big grant-makers in the District to keep the flow of research dollars coming. Together with the tie to Johns Hopkins, it is a very smart addition to the conference, even though their football team has been mediocre at best.

Rutgers was all about NYC TV and closing off the recruiting market, as NJ does produce a fair amount of football talent. Very few of those recruits come this far west, however, but Penn State, Ohio State and Michigan feed off a pretty significant pipeline of good football players. Having the B1G play in their backyard is big for recruiting. The hope was that Rutgers could parlay the conference step up and keep some kids home to play against OSU or PSU, but they cannot get their act together.

Just had to laugh that Nate Stanley was not on the Davey O'Brien finalist list after being on the preseason watch list. While Tanner Morgan of Minnesota and Brock Purdy of Iowa State made the list. I thought it was ridiculous to have Stanley on the preseason list and how many pundits think/thought of him as a NFL prospect. He has played to his level this season while Morgan and Purdy have exceeded expectations playing on two teams who are in much different places than most people thought they would be at this point in the season. Minnesota undefeated and in control of their post-season destiny and Iowa State mired in the middle of a meh Big 12.

Anyway, I'm just glad that Stanley didn't get a token vote because he isn't even close to worthy of any award.

Saban inexplicably plays Tua against a garbage team when he could barely move after the LSU game. Then, up 35-7 keeps him in "to practice running the two minute offense".
Tua gets hurt and carted off the field.

Woah. With no Tua that will hurt their odds of getting into the playoff even if they run the table.

Suddenly a one loss to OSU Gopher team would be ahead of them.
