Not really Vikings related but NFL schedule related: the 40ish second mark of this clip had me laughing.

That definitely benefits the Vikings. I know it has lost its luster a bit, but I'd rather not see the team IN GB in the winter months.

When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the country you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.

Yeah, let’s play in a dome stadium in September and on $h!teee, loose painted mud in December because it’s so “cool” playing on the so called frozen tundra. 😉🤮

The quirk I found interesting is that the Vikings play all three division opponents on the road before any of them play here.

Garrett Bradbury seems to be the hot pick in the mocks right now and getting the best center in the draft is AOK with me.

Am I the only dummy who didn't realize that Marty Wexler III is not a real person? I googled him yesterday when Dan mentioned that he was in prison during last year's interview and I found nothing. I feel like an idiot

It took a couple years before I figured it out. When they talked about having trained pit bulls chasing players to show their in game speed a few years back that was the hint.

It's been years since I've heard him on the radio. I only vaguely remember him talking about running in an arc and measuring dong length. Considering the idiotic questions that actually get asked during the draft run up, neither seemed too far fetched.

Many scouts have said he might even be a better guard at the pro level. Would be nice to have that versatility.

I also hope they trade back into the late first, and get a TE. Then cut Rudolph for cap space.

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline told ESPN 99.1 that he has heard the Minnesota Vikings are trying to trade up to select Washington State T Andre Dillard.

The Vikings are a name that we've heard attached to offensive line throughout out the draft -- and for good reason, this was not a good unit in 2018 -- and if they view Dillard as the top tackle in this class, it shouldn't shock anyone if they did what they needed to acquire him. They pick 18th, but one thing to keep an eye on is that there are several teams that need tackles like the Texans, Dolphins and (potentially) Bengals they may need to get ahead of. We'll be curious to see where the former Cougar goes on Thursday, for sure.

Why didn't you say you wanted him captain hindsight?
Because unlike you I will admit I know next to nothing about any of these players. (I will always say take a center, but I played center so I am biased) When I say everyone I mean the people who get paid to actually dissect the team not us rubes who are know nothings.

The only one lamenting this pick was PA and he was only doing it because he had been touting a different guy. Wait...are you PA?

Hell Charch, Leber and Bersich were basically pimpslapping PA for suggesting they take someone else before the pick.

Going in to today there were like 4 guys everyone said the Vikes could take at 18 and do a happy dance. 2 most likely wouldnt be there and this was the guy they hoped would find his way to the pick.

What 4 guys are you talking about?

Because I posted Bradbury's name here when he was all over the mocks, but they also didn't have Dillard there for us.

Lord knows this team needs OL. More than just one - hopefully some more ‘surprises’ down draft too.

McShay had Dillard going in the 20s...

I honestly cant remember because they are players I never watched play. I bet Beauner has a better clue to be honest. (Bradbury was one)

Honestly I could care less they drafted OL and to me that is what matters.

The 4 on KFAN i heard most this week and last week were Bradbury, Taylor, Hockensen (long shot) and Ed Oliver (super longshot).
The essential thinking was if Bradbury and Taylor were gone before MN picked it could mean Oliver or Hockensen slid.

Everyone pretty much assumed Williams would be gone.
I rarely heard anybody mention Dillard.

But no way to know then if they all thought Dillard would be gone or not and therefore didn't mention him. Like any draft now we wait. Just went to the Champs from a couple years ago who traded up for him.

Regardless, our window is open at least one more year, and after the ridiculous Minnesota special last year, a small formulation change may be all that's needed to get back up instead of a big change like a rookie on the blind side. The Vikings are the only pro team in town that warrants some real optimism. There will be a buzz in the fall and that's fun.

Yes...I have to put effort into remembering that kind of crap and I just didnt. (and havent for quite some time) Even when I heard guys who played in the Big Ten AGAINST THE GOPHERS I scratched my head. (Haskins and a couple others not withstanding) I just dont care enough to remember that stuff anymore and I get no perverse joy out of pretending to be a draft expert when discussing it with other fans.

What I remember a lot of the "experts" (term used loosely) thinking was key for the Vikes was flexibility and the ability to play in the zone blocking scheme. Apparently this guy is pretty good at that.

As Beauner said Dillard was rarely mentioned unless it was talking about trading back a few picks. His being picked at 22 is on point with projections as earlier today McShay had him at 23. (only know that because I saw it on a replay of something like an hour ago) Seeing as trades werent bringing in lots of picks no need to do that when a guy rated higher was right there.

Rated higher and is a better fit for the need (interior line).

Gotta wonder if the Vikings are on the horn trying to move Rhodes or Waynes here to move back into the first.

I think they got to be shopping Rudolph as well...but who knows. My guess is they arent ignoring offers for quite a few players.

I would have hoped Waynes was gone already and they got some picks out of it. They can't afford him next year. I would think they may want Rudolph for this season if they're going to try to go for it all.

I like what Zimmer said about the pick last night on the radio. Apparently he stood in there with the Clemson D-Line and held his own. 3 of that D-Line apparently had been selected before him.

The Vikings window to make a playoff run is NOW this year and next, after that it’s back to being Detroit for awhile 😉

Not sure how they were set up better headed into last year.

Oline was set back right out of the gate, No Berger or Easton from the year prior and Elflein was screwed with the injury in the last game against the Eagles.

New OC from outside the team, Soprano passes away and new QB.

NFL rosters turnover drastically over a 2-3 period. Can't even compare. The name of the game in the NFL is drafting well, that is what will determine where a team is in the next 3 years.

After being the worst team in baseball for the last decade the Twins have a little more "prove it" to do than a nice little start. Although I agree the future sure looks brighter than the past but that also isn't saying anything at all.

I'm referring to the same timeframe. At this exact timeframe last year they were better set up. I know what happened. Thanks for the history lesson.

Your welcome.

There are zero games in April, May, June, July, August. I am hoping they are set up better come September 1, with personnel and health at this point they should be.

Not sure how they were set up better headed into last year.

Oline was set back right out of the gate, No Berger or Easton from the year prior and Elflein was screwed with the injury in the last game against the Eagles.

New OC from outside the team, Soprano passes away and new QB.
I'm referring to the same timeframe. At this exact timeframe last year they were better set up. I know what happened. Thanks for the history lesson.
Your welcome.

There are zero games in April, May, June, July, August. I am hoping they are set up better come September 1, with personnel and health at this point they should be.
With this towns love for major injuries to sports stars I have my doubts.
