Cleveland finishes the sweep. After losing twice 13-0 to the Orioles, they have gone 11-2, and the 2 loses were to the Twins.
However, as when people were upset about our record for teams over .500, the Indians are 15-21 against teams over .500.
Cleveland now plays KC who has won 4 straight but did get swept by the Indians earlier this month.

Eddie!!!
Sano works a great AB for a walk, Oakland goes to the bullpen, Rocco pinch hits for Cave and Rosario shafts on the first pitch for the go-ahead HR.
Re: Minnesota Twins 2014-2020: Here's Your Damn Thread
Rogers has been one of the best relievers in baseball... Oak gets a hit w/ RISP while we are 0-5. The offense gets off the hook so easy?
So, when our offense is down it's not their pitching?
Potato, potato.
I'll say it again. I want more pitching.
I'm not saying we can't use pitching help, but pitching help can't drive in runs and get clutch hits. The offense has turned into Solo HR or nothing.
If we get pitching help they offense better return to the mean or it won't matter at all.

I agree we need some arms, but also agree that if the lineup doesn't get going again it won't matter in regards to wins and losses. At least Cleveland finally lost.

I'm not that concerned about Rogers blown save. He have been really good this year, and closers will blown a game now and again. The move that has be baffled was having Littell pitch. The bullpen does need some upgrading.

I think it's more that the offense is what it is at this point. I don't really see a position where it would make sense for them to make a move. Pitching, on the other hand, has a number of areas where they could improve with a deadline deal.

Yet another bases loaded double play. Twins have had more than enough chances to win this series and just cannot put it together.

Trevor May comes in with a 2 run lead.
5 pitch walk. Double.
Maybe he'll pull a miracle here and not give up both runs.
Edit: good start. Blows a fastball by Olson (after Olson missed a go-ahead HR by about 5 feet foul).

Took the family to the game today on the Northstar light rail. Since the middle innings moved at a snail's pace, we had to leave in the top of the 8th to catch the train back home. Good news: we missed Trevor May's meltdown, Bad news: we missed the 9th inning comeback.

Blame the pitching and bullpen all you want but the offense has been stranding a lot of guys lately.
It ebbs and flows. It has just coincided with the stretch of playing some really good teams.

The Twins also seem to have leads in most games just to piss them away. Yes, they’ve also had chances to get more runs and have hit poorly with men in scoring position, but the pitchers aren’t holding or stealing games.
They aren’t wining low scoring games.

Was today the first walk-off win of the season? Or at least the first at home?

You can't technically get a walkoff win on the road
But if I recall correctly this was the second walkoff win.
Haha yeah you’re right. I have vacation brain and haven’t really seen much of the Twins in the past week apart from blowing bases loaded bottom of the ninths.
Glad we got the win!

I just saw the home run now on Fox Sports North (two minute after your post). Greyeagle must live in the future.
Or you're living in the past? Hmmmm.....
Apparently for me it's not Fox North Live it's Fox North 2 minute delay.

Why did there have to be one out when that ball was hit? That could have been another third play. Apparently the Yankees like to hit the ball right at Arraez near third base when they have the bases loaded.

Holy crap I haven't seen catcher's interference in a long time.
Does Cruz get an RBI for that?

Based on the ESPN box score it looks like he does. He has two RBIs tonight so far (hopefully more to come). I suppose in some ways it's not that different then a bases loaded walk/hit batsmen in both cases the batter didn't put the ball in play to drive in the run but still gets an RBI. I agree it's a lot weirder. If you are struggling to hit the ball instead hit the catcher's glove to drive in a run.

[COMMENT REDACTED. NOTHING TO SEE HERE]
Re: Minnesota Twins 2014-2020: Here's Your Damn Thread
Alright, in this game someone that can strike people out would be awfully nice. Bats aren't the problem so far.
I agree. As a side note though' 5 solo HRs... I mean just by odds you'd think at least 1 or 2 would have someone on base. Its uncanny, I think I heard something like 13 of our last 15 HRs have been solo HRs coming into tonight. I could be way off though, because I cannot find where I read that. But solo back-to-back jacks are just as good as a 2-run HR. And hitting a solo HR is much better than hitting a single or double and ending up a LOB. I just find it kind of crazy.
Re: Minnesota Twins 2014-2020: Here's Your Damn Thread
You can probably count on one hand the number of moves Twins management/ownership made during the great run of division titles under Gardy and the few good seasons at Target Field. This is my biggest issue with Twins ownership. This team deserves some commit from ownership to make a trade and add some payroll but I wouldn't be holding my breath it will happen.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014-2020: Here's Your Damn Thread

I believe it technically goes down as an E2 but the batter does not get counted as an "out" like a normal error against the stats. It does not hurt his OBP or batting average, so I guess they'd score it as an RBI like they would with a bases loaded walk/HBP.
