I think it was eating Doritos, but a few days later I had a sore spot in my upper palate close to my teeth. For a few weeks I had little bone shards break off and work their way out of a little hole that developed. By the time I was able to get into the dental specialist the last of it had fallen out and he shrugs and is like “well if it happens again let me know” but basically seemed to indicate something weird things like that just happen.

Yes. I'm hoping as there are more shots in arms, the numbers will go up.

I am hoping the limited tickets doesn't drive the secondary market crazy, but we will see.

Supply and demand. I don't think you'll get into a Twins game with 10K allowed for the price you could before.

That looks sharp. I have yet to go to a Saints game in the new stadium. I hope I can rectify that this year.

New Saints stadium is sweet.
We have tix to a game in July of this season. Limited availability right now given capacity constraints and have to buy tix in blocks of 2, 3, or 4 (pre-determined blocks) to preserve social distancing.

He hit .129 this spring. That poor performance, combined with service time clock issues, makes it a pretty easy decision for Minnesota. I bet he'll be up in early May.

Can't disagree with him starting in STP. I was just hoping he would have a great spring and replace Rosario.

Berrios gives up bombs to the first 2 Red Sox players. They hadn’t even showed the Twins defensive players yet. I think I’ll watch something else.

Should I have concern with the spring training record? Anyone looking good? Bad?

Spring training records largely mean nothing. Hell the Twins were using training staff members as pinch runners in games 🤣

Pitchers are working on pitches and building pitch counts and stamina.
Most of the starters looked pretty good. Berrios upped his velo a bit. Dobnak tinkered with the release on his slider, which was already a very good pitch, and it was talked about by multiple MLB reporters for how nasty it was. Maeda tinkered with his repertoire and was largely great again.
Biggest story IMO is Lewis Thorpe worked his ass off all offseason, regained the velo he lost by (admittedly) being lazy in 2020. If he's going to be a functional pitcher that gives the Twins 7 viable SPs with Maeda, Berrios, Pineda, Happ, and Shoemaker as the likely opening day rotation with Dobnak likely working in relief and spot starting, and Thorpe probably being the first SP out of AAA if needed. Canterino looked like a viable SP (though he's probably 1-2 years out from a full MLB season).
Derek Law looks like he'll be a really good addition to the bullpen. Alcala too (though he debuted last year).

Offensively it's hard to really judge. So many of the hitters in spring training are just working on mechanical things that they sometimes look terrible. Larnach, on the other hand, was absolutely phenomenal most of the spring.

It's hard to judge their stats because they could be going against A ball guys later in the game, etc. It's more about do their pitches look sharp, are their swings on plane, timing good, etc.

For those who haven't followed along on the Dobnak news this spring, and why many are very high on him, this stat is kinda mindblowing. Dobnak threw 46 innings last season. The next fewest innings on that list was Plesac at 55.
Everyone else threw 65+ innings. 3 of them are considered arguably the 3 best in the game. Lamet wasn't far behind those 3 either.
And by all accounts, the slider is even nastier now.

Garlick is the type of guy who made the roster based on his spring training performance. He hit .300 with 5 HRs. He's played 42 games in his MLB career and never come close to replecating those numbers so I'm assuming once his bat cools down he'll be down.
I'm personally disappointed they took Garlick over Rooker, as Rooker looked like he belonged when he got a chance last year before a bean ball ended his season. Hopefully he earns his way back up soon (and isn't called up due to injury).

Was kinda surprised they didn't keep Derek Law up given his ST performance (8 IP, 3 hits, 3 walks, 13 Ks, 0 runs) but I'm sure the fact that he's not on the 40-man roster was a major factor.

Didn’t Sano hit one there up near the mascot’s slide a couple years ago?

Hit batsman w an 0-2 count, throw to the wrong base, dropped can of corn. Other than that it was a solid inning. Oof.

Its 2021, if I gave a crap about an NBA score (I don't), I'd look it up on my phone while I am watching.

Pull Berrios after 84, and he's throwing a very special game? That's BS.

Ouch! CB Buckner took one right off the throat/jaw. Man that could have been a lot worse.

Now a Brewer trainer who was helping Buckner collapses on the field......weird happenings....Hope he's ok.

EDIT - he seems to be ok and it looks like Buckner will finish the game behind the plate.

They weren't going to let him go the entire game anyways. He would have required to finish the 7th and 8th innings in like ten pitches to have any chance to go 9, if they even let him try finish the 9th.
It's his first start and he probably hasn't thrown more than 80 pitches since last October.

There aren't many managers in baseball that would allow the foundation of their pitching staff over extend himself in start #1. The ones who would are dumb.

If he had given up a couple hits and/or walks, ok, sure. In THIS situation...let him skip his next start if you have to.

It was a very very good pitch. 96mph cutter low and away on the paint is about as you can get. Buxton put a great swing on it.

1) he has given up a baserunner (HBP in the fifth inning).
2) still no.
