To put into perspective how great the play Bregman made was to end the inning. He was playing deep at 3B because of Sano's exit velocity numbers. He manages to charge in and barehand the ball on the run and release the throw with enough on it to get Sano by about the with of a baseball seam at 1B.

Great slide by Herr Kepler!

Interesting to see Sano's fleet-of-footness.

My favorite part of the playoffs is that I didn't have to hear Dick Bremer scream "SANO WITH A DOUBLE PLAY" when this happened:

Both teams have been extremely patient at the plate today. Maeda already almost at 80 pitches through 3.2 innings and Greinke had 30 in the first inning.

Maeda coasts through the 5th.

Would be nice if the offense could scratch a couple more out this inning.

The ump had a very consistent strike zone until the past 2 innings. The Twins aren't doing themselves any favors but good grief keep the strike zone the same the whole game.

I love that ESPN isn’t pulling any punches on calling out Houston for being stinkin cheaters. I’d guess the league would prefer that wasn’t discussed at all much less showing angry quotes from players about it and year-to-year stats about how much lower their averages are this year.

Houston gets an endcap blooper followed by a broken bat blooper to start the 9th. Romo trying to wiggle off the hook.

And Polanco throws one offline trying to hurry the throw for no reason when Romo should have been out of the inning.

My prediction of the Twins getting swept on Gleeman's Twitter poll is starting to look like I'm not as crazy as people would have thought.

When you can't hit and give away outs to a playoff team you're not going to win games.

An epic choke by Polanco did nothing to help. We should be tied going into the bottom of the 9th right now.

If you can’t make a routine fielding play, with the pressure on, give the Astros 4 outs in the 9th, you deserve to lose. 17 playoff loses in a row, several like this where Twins kick it to the curb. So frustrating.

Sounds like everyone has given up. Or forgotten the season isn’t over yet. :confused2:
We haven’t given up. They may have lost anyway with how silent their bats were. But to screw up a routine throw a routine play & it results in a 4 run 4 out inning for Astros in the 9th inning, it’s understandable that Twin fans were glum postgame.

I thought Adalberto Mondesi did a few years ago?

He pinch hit for a pitcher in the world series.
Kirilloff is getting the start. I'm guessing that's what the tweet I read meant. First player to make his MLB debut by getting a start in the playoffs.

Buxton is the Rick Finney (former Vikings RB) equivalent for the Twins, the Glass Man version 2.0  (not specifically today but during his entire career)

Jeffers is hot and could get tossed if he keeps yapping.

That would be a shame. 😀

Berrios dominant through 3.2 innings, walks back to back guys, then gives up a 140ft roller through the infield to give Houston the lead.

Cruz with a double to tie the game.
Took a perfect throw, relay, and tag to get Arraezz at the plate with the go ahead run.

The relay throw was actually not great (it was strong as hell cuz Correia has a hose, but it was off the line a little). Arraez took too wide of a turn around 3B and cost himself.

Ump show takes over. Terrible strike call on ball 4. Eddie strikes out a couple pitches later and gets tossed.

When Springer got rung up earlier he went right after the ump and got away with screaming at him all the way back to the dugout but Rosario gets tossed.

That's a BS toss. Houston guy goes crazy at bat and in the dugout and nothing happens.
MLB umps remain the biggest pains in the asses in pro sports.

Barring an unforeseen comeback, that was probably Rosario's last moment as a Twin.
