Sano just doesn't have the bat speed to hit guys with high 90s stuff. He could stand there all night and never catch up to one.
He was doing fine last week against the heat.

Doesn’t have the bat speed? :confused2:
When did Sano hit a HR off a high 90's fastball last week? I looked it up and pitch speed for Sano's 3 home runs were 91, 78, and 84 mph

Sucks to lose to a lesser team.

But then at this point, they're all less than the Twins.

Sano looked like he was trying to launch one, all we needed was a single.

That's the team I hate losing to the most for obvious reasons.
Lead us out of Loserville, Bob.
104 big four seasons with no finals appearance
Times advanced in playoffs last 15 seasons: Vikings 3, Wild 2, Twins 0, Wolves 0
1967 last football conference title, 1982 last basketball conference title, 2003 last hockey national championship

Bragging right are always on the line. If the Twins have a good season but the Brewers make it further that would be infuriating to me.

Pineda to the 10-day IL with knee tendonitis.

Twins call up Devin Smeltzer, acquired in the Dozier trade.
Smeltzer will start tonight.

The loss is attributable to the bullpen failure, not the guys who came up short against 100 mph.

They lost a close game, big deal. Unfortunately the reflex reaction of some...is to toy with going all in GPL (like after losing to St Lawrence)

If a media person had made rhis statement, it makes Common's PST bit.
Cubs are the #1 NL team in this AL city and I'd guess any non NL city in the US.
Cards I'd say are the #2 NL team here & #3 is anybody's guess.

There used to be a rivalry, which rapidly died after they moved to NL in 1998. At this point, I don't see them as a rival, just the easiest NL away trip Twins fans can make.

On TV it seemed like there was a decent number of Brewers' fans in the crowd last night.

Wisconsin has crazy good fan support but for some reason I never hear anybody talking about the Brewers.

This has been mapped out strangely enough. Cubs and Yanks - Relatively unsurprising to me at least. Love the dividing lines illustrated by this interactive map. You'll notice that the A's and the Mets have no territory.

I'm sure, because you're going to get people in western Wisconsin that are going to be fans of the Wisconsin team, even if it's on the other side of the state, and it's easier for them to get to a Twins home game that it is Milwuakee for a game.

Exactly. No one cares about the Brewers. It is cute when people call it a "border battle" because I never hear anyone go "cant wait til we get that matchup with the Brew Crew!".

If this isn’t hyperbole and the Brewers having a better season than the Twins actually infuriates you, it is probably time for you to get some help.

Jack Morris is crying over the story of Smeltzer overcoming childhood cancer to play in this first MLB game.

Bremer, the professional he is covers for Jack each time his voice starts cracking. Tough guy showing his soft side.

Great story. Manny interviewed the parents. I couldn’t imagine what a proud moment it must be for a parent to watch their kid experience their first pro (major league) game.

If ever there was a time for a curtain call. Crowd chanting his name and he delivers. Keep yelling his name until he comes back out.

Great night of baseball, great pitchers dual, and the home team prevails after a brilliant performance by the rookie. Watching with my Brewers fan fiancé, who treated me to the game for date night even after telling him "you know the Brewers are gonna lose tonight, right?"...was the cherry on top. :biggrin2:

I didn't ask for a reason. I asked why it was necessary. And it was more of a rhetorical question trying to make a point that it was NOT necessary. Nor should it be an "option". I could go on but enough hijacking the Twins thread. Maybe I'll move it to the "things that stick in my craw" thread.

Fine. He said it wasn't necessary and you could make the same comments. No worries. *shrug*

If you’re hating on the Trop itself you’ve never been there. The stadium itself is fine for baseball. They have solid food and a good setup for baseball other than the stupid catwalks hanging from the roof. There’s no way in hell you’re going to an outdoor game there in summer...it’s hot as balls. The stadium itself is nice and they even have tailgating if you want to roast in the sun. The problem is there is no one there even if they are good. Driving out to the end of the St.Pete peninsula just plain sucks for a large chunk of the population.

Correct. Tampa Bay is not a city. So don’t get caught up if Tampa Bay Devil Rays play in St Pete.

I've been there twice for baseball. It sucks. Out of the 29 major league ballparks I've been to it ranks at 29 for me.

What a terrible place is a pub with no beer.

None of their teams play in Tampa Bay but that doesn’t stop them from using the name.
You mean in the actual bay...like...water?

The Lightning arena is in downtown and the Bucs stadium is northwest of downtown
Correct. Tampa Bay is not a city. So don’t get caught up if Tampa Bay Devil Rays play in St Pete.
Technically speaking the Tampa Bay Devil Rays don't play anywhere anymore cuz they don't exist. 😉

Dick and Bert unaware the Rogers would get the win, not the save.
