He's made $55M+ and will be $59M by the end of next season. By all accounts, he's an extremely smart guy. I would guess he's done well from a business standpoint as well.

I'm amusing myself thinking of how Lamoriello and Trotz would respond if Dad tried at the NHL level some of the stuff he's done on Kieffer's behalf at lower levels.

One of Backes' best friends from college is a bank executive here in Mankato, it's also where Backes stays whenever he is in town. Anyway, my boss plays men's league with that banker and my boss has had the chance to hang with Backes on several occasions. It sounds like from their conversations that Backes is doing and will be fine in the money department. Backes and his wife devote a great amount of time to their charity which benefits animal charities and shelters. I imagine that will take up the lion's share of his time when he does pull the plug.

Brady Skjei is on the trading block. Carolina is a possible landing spot.

Duluth native and Whioux alum Derek Forbort traded to the Flames

Edit-- Skjei reportedly traded to Canes

Skjei was moved because the Rangers need to dump cash after resigning Krieder. Also, the emergence of Fox and Lindgren helped make the trade possible. Hope Brady helps out the Canes. Haula was in the dog house in Carolina, so not shocked at that move. Haula has a rep of being disgruntled and he has now been moved by MN and Carolina because of it. There are rumblings he could go back to Vegas in the off season. Wish them both well.

Leon Bristedt leads the SHL in points for U25 players. That's pretty solid and it sounds like there is at least some NHL team interest.

Also, he might win the award for hottest wife/gf of any Gopher player ever... Thank you Sweden.

If you are into the Swedes, you can similarly search out Kevin Fiala’s gf. I probably don’t need to explain how I stumbled upon that. 😆

You’re welcome. ;)

And sorry this really isn’t the right thread for this but I’m just playing along.

This should go in the market place, but I think it would get more attention here. Ken Gernander, game worn, Binghamton Rangers, signed, St. Patrick's Day jersey. https://binghamton.craigslist.org/clt/d ... 19441.html.

Watching FSN's unscripted with Wheeler and Okposo. Really a great interview, and Okposo hinted that if he could do it all over again, that he would have not left the way he did. Said he took a lot of heat from that decision for a while. I will admit that it took me years to let that go as a fan, but I have moved on.

Here is a small clip from the show with Wheeler talking about the Final 5 goal .

I'll say it a million times. The nicest guy that deserved an epic career, derailed by a constant stream of bad injuries.

At least he's already earned $21MM playing hockey so he should be set for life in whatever career.

The new version of the odd couple--
Back in Minnesota, like most in the business world, he is working from home, over the phone, helping with retirement planning and investments. Schierhorn lives with Casey Mittelstadt and Tyler Sheehy, two former Gophers who still play hockey professionally. He said that the surest sign that it was the right time to hang up the goalie pads is the feeling — or lack thereof — he gets when his roommates head to the rink

Would love to see simulated NHL games on the PS or XBOX with rosters made up entirely of players from the same college.

And with Robson a Gophers roster would actually have a goalie.
Currently under construction.

Wheeler nominated for King Clancy Award, which is for leadership qualities. Wonder what Finley thinks about it?

He might not be skilled at fighting, but all respect to Wheeler's hair:

I wonder if there's a rule in the Guentzel household about diving like a soccer player? He's had a couple of those tonight

My buddies didn't want to go to a game even though you can easily socially distance...
