Not sure if this is the place but Aaron Ness taken off the ice on a stretcher. Lost an edge and went into boards headfirst. Pretty ugly. Apparently he's okay.
That happened Friday. As far as I’ve heard he was released from the hospital the next day but the nature of his injuries were not disclosed.

He's been arrested for that in Minnesota at least twice, including once during his playing days. He probably needs help; I hope he gets it.

But Boyd might now have a different way into the lineup to start the season. With center Evgeny Kuznetsov suspended the first three games for “inappropriate conduct” after testing positive for cocaine at the world championships in May, Washington will be temporarily shorthanded up the middle. Lars Eller will almost certainly move up to the second line, meaning the Capitals need a short-term solution for their third trio. Consider Boyd the favorite.

The Blues played Adam Wilcox in goal after their prospect Husso. He was part of a combined shutout. Nice to see him still hanging around.

I'm some what surprised that the Canadians kept Suzuki over Poehling. Did not watch any of their preseason, so maybe Ryan had a bad camp.

Gotta love Nate Schmidt. Was never an “elite prospect” but made his way to playing major minutes in the NHL by busting his butt and being a good teammate.

None of these 3 player assignments is the least bit shocking. Good kids but average hockey players (in college).

Most productive Minnesotans debuting in the last 30 years:
1. Boeser (.83 PPG) - Young and likely to go up
2. Wheeler (.81 PPG) - Will be interesting to see which way it goes the next few years
T3. Guentzel (.78 PPG) - Young and likely to go up
T3. Parise (.78 PPG) - Likely going downwards
5. Oshie (.71 PPG) - Similar to Wheeler. Could go either way

Mittelstadt is our best hope to pick up the Gopher slack from Wheeler/Kessel/Vanek getting up there in age. Hopefully by next year he can produce at these levels. Other than him we'll see how Walker and Brink pan out in terms of NHL potential.

I know the guy has basically been a recluse for quite some time so this is not necessarily surprising from an outsider's view. Hope he gets some help.

Casey Mittelstadt putting on another clinic, looking good for another 9-10 minutes and his 11th consecutive scoreless tilt.
