Most of those with us last year couldn’t go this year. It was a struggle to get enough to buy group tickets but we got ‘er done! Totally worth it because we could buy two weeks earlier and get better seats together. It’s way more fun with a large group there. We can be louder and more annoying to the locals. Hope they are ready again for that all important question that Mel has...!

If I had known then what I know now, I might have joined this trip and gotten the whole week off. I'll be in Amherst on the 13th anyway, possibly the 12th if I don't want to drive 8 hours in a day. ;)

Certainly not complaining.

And yes, I hope Mel has to ask that question a lot again this year :biggrin2:

Just leaving Grand Forks with 5 of us (2 under 5) heading for bucky's house. I hope my kids don't drive us insane. Anyone have any information on where to go before the game or semi family and Gopher friendly pregame places?

Pregame is usually the Red Shed. It’s just a bar but pretty innocent before game time.

Another option is “Dotty’s Dumpling Dowry” which despite the name is a place people go for burgers. Also near the stadium is the “Nitty Gritty” for burger type food. Dottys is the better food.

But if you’re looking for Gopher fans, it’s the Red Shed.

For those who will be in Madison, if you like high end craft cocktails, go to “The Merchant.” It’s up on Capital Square. You can walk it but I usually take the hotel shuttle.

I highly recommend the whiskey sour. But they have many great choices. It’ll make the 4 hour drive worth the trouble.

I don't suppose that it matters much, but I'll be driving down on Friday with three of my kids.
For those of you going, Dottys is really good, but get there early. It's always packed.

I'm in Wisconsin, just not in Madison.

That counts, right?

No issues.
There were 3 troopers running speed on 94. Be careful.

All were in separate areas.

Yes. But only because our car battery died while it sat at the hotel ramp all weekend.

Once we get jumped we’ll find out what’s happening on the streets.

We do. But of course we weren’t backed into the spot, and guess how you open trunks (where the cables were) with electronics! Thankfully the doors opened and the back seat folds down so I got to crawl into the trunk and pull the ripcord.
We had just enough cable to reach the other vehicle; we also couldn’t push the car back because the gears wouldn’t shift into neutral without the electronics.....

So in reference to the earlier convo on this board, this is why it is a good idea to carry cables...and back into parking spots when it’s cold and your car will be sitting for awhile.

Many years later but I still vividly recall a drunk BADger fan vomiting all over the floor in the bathroom right behind me as I was standing at the urinal. YUCK.

I remember a certain Gopher fans airing out the Red Shed with a giant fart. I have never seen so many people head for the door at once.

That suite is still unused by the Wild. Even the Hazmat team wouldn't and will not go into that suite... lol.

My all time favorite puking the bathroom story would be several years ago in the Dome. It was a Vikings or Gophers game and guys were hip to hip and several deep in the restroom. And the Dome have the urinal trough from one end to the other. Some young grade school comes running in shoves his head between two guys hips and starts puking. One can only imagine how much pi$$ was splattered on his head as he had his head in the trough.
