What’s your favorite snack?

If I’m being healthy it’s apple slices with almond butter. If I’m not, it’s Cheetos :dup:

If you really want to go off the rails the jalapeno doritos and the medium salsa con queso they sell everywhere is a dangerous combination. Seems like the jalapeno doritos are gone from Target now which is ridiculous cuz they were the best flavor by far.

My new work schedule (anywhere within a 4PM to 4AM range) and the societal shutdown has allowed me to focus more on reading again. Have re-read "The Outsider" and "Doctor Sleep" by Stephen King and Jules Verne's "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" & "The Mysterious Island" over the past couple weeks.

Mine is probably Red Velvet Oreos. Dot’s Pretzels and the spicier Takis aren’t far behind

For healthier snacks I really like Zone and Cliff Bars. Usually the straight chocolate ones

My favorite is plain old vanilla bean. The Haagen Dazs and Breyers natural vanilla bean are the best.
But I will eat anything - unless it is chocolate based or has chocolate syrup in it.
I can also eat a lot of it. It is routine to have a pint for dinner, and another for dessert.

For snacks, most anything sweet/salty will work. However, ice cream is my biggest kryptonite. We have gelato on sale at the store this week, so on our break this evening we'll be stocking up.

Favorite snack is chip and dip. Old Dutch Rip-L chips and a family recipe dip.

Cream cheese beaten smooth with a hint of milk, grated onion (with juice) and garlic power.

It’s a favorite wherever I bring it. Give it a try!

I saw a couple of Dot’s Pretzels votes for snacks. The story of those is a pretty neat one. They are made in Velva ND which is about 30 minutes from Minot. One day traveling back to Fargo from there, I decided to see their “headquarters”. My Mom is a nut job about them, she likes dipping them in honey mustard jelly and I was gonna send her a picture.

I went to the address on their website and couldn’t see anything, no sign, no cars etc. After a trip around the block, I finally saw a little 12” sign on a man door heading into what I had assumed was a mechanics garage. That was a few years back, I have to assume they have expanded given how many different places I see them.

They also have a new Southwest flavor that is pretty good, so for those that like a little heat, it’s the best of both worlds.

Also, my favorite is cream cheese melted and mixed with Hormel no bean chili and eaten with tortilla chips. I always bring it to parties and people look at it and move past (looks like baby $h!t) and when I tell them to try it, my crock pot ends up being the only empty one at the end of the night.

Are you a morning lark or a night owl?

I’ve always been a night owl, even as a baby. My mother said she fell asleep holding me during Jack Parr and I’d still be wide eyed and smiling.

Left to my own devices, Night Owl. Had a period of time where I had been laid off from my job, and, without needing to be awake to deal with work/etc, found that my sleep schedule had shifted to go to bed around 3-4AM, waking up at 10 or 11. Not sleeping my life away, just... offset from everyone else.

Thanks to Uncle Sam's Canoe Club, I'm an early bird. I routinely wake up between 5:30 and 6:00 every morning, even without an alarm clock.

“Uncle Sam’s Canoe Club” made me laugh out loud!

I guess I am a night owl. Used to be able to stay up all night and function just fine the next day. Once I hit 40, that ended. Now I fall asleep around midnight. Any later and I feel like hell the next day.

Morning Lark. When life was normal, and I wasn't working from home, I would get up three days a week at 4:50 to run, otherwise it was more like 5:30. Up to a few years ago, I would stay up until 10:30 or 11. Now it's pretty much 10:00.

I was never in the military, but I would have no problem with the schedule. I love to sleep, but I don't need as much as most people.

In high school I used to work 5 am to 1 pm. Sometimes I would party until the wee hours and drive straight to work. In college, I worked overnights at a gas station. That was tough because I would go to the bar after class, then Gopher hockey games and then work a midnight to 8 am shift. I suffered through that brutal schedule to allow me to go to hockey games. It also let me study at work when nobody would come to the store between 12 and 5 am outside of a few people needing smokes and Mountain Dew after the bar.

These days I go to bed early and wake up around 6 am. But I can get up, and often do, at 4 am with no problem.

While I don't think it is the best Bond film, it does have one of my favorite scenes of the classic (pre-Brosnan and Craig). I love the boat chase on the river that ends up with him hang gliding off the boat.

Regarding today's question I am absolutely a morning person. I wake up and I am ready to go. My wife and I don't talk much in the morning as she is absolutely NOT a morning person.

When I first retired I adhered to my work schedule, which was a pretty rigid 10:30pm to bed to 6:00am out of bed. Now, 10 years later, it's "whenever I'm sleepy" to "whenever I'm no longer sleepy" (except golf mornings two days a week, when I revert to my former work schedule).

Works for me!

Yes I remember that very scene. Unfortunately after that the movie is mostly ugly yellow henchman uniforms and a pink floyd laser show.

Night owl. And I love to sleep in - I logged 12 hours both nights this past weekend. My work schedule is geared toward later and changes every day so that is a little challenging. If I had to get up early I would do fine if I stuck to a schedule, but I need 8 hours of sleep. 9 is my sweet spot I think. I’ve definitely caught up on sleep since the cancellation of social activity.

Happy Frozen Four week everyone. Should have been a two day work week for me. :(

Night owl. My first main 40-hour job was an 8-5 gig, in Golden Valley. I lived in Burnsville at the time. Needless to say, it wasn't prime for my circadian rhythm I was in bed by 10ish, up at 6am. .My current job is a 9-5:30 (on a normal day; and shorter lunch) and I live about 7 minutes away. Much better. In bed about midnight, up around 7:30ish.
In my younger days, I'd crash anywhere from 2am-4am on the weekends, still by up by 9am the next day. Can't really do that anymore, the latest I stay up is usually 1am or so on weekends. Still up by 8am, mayyyyyyyyyyyybe 9am at the latest.

When I was probably 10 or 11, my two brothers and I played kickball in our living room with an exercise ball. It hit my moms shelf full of glass and porcelain elephants. I would say there were 12 elephants at about six inches tall at most. Shattered them. We spent the rest of the day super gluing all the pieces back together. Luckily the shelf was dusty so we were able to place them back in the same spots they were. My mom did not know they were shattered until about 15 years later when she took down the shelf. Statue of limitations was up on that and we got away with it.

At the least. I'm personally in favor of not even being investigated, much less indicted and tried, and the less said of convicted, the better, thank you.

One of my favorite childhood tales: my younger brother and I liked to play “circus” in the basement. Circus consisted of only two acts, acrobatics, which was me laying on my back balancing my brother on my upraised feet then tossing him across the room. Act two was knife throwing! Using darts. He’d stand against the wall and I’d threw darts at him. Once the dart stuck in his thigh. I walked over, yanked the dart out, said very calmly “no telling”. My mom finally heard the story 30 years later when we fessed up.
Gruss von Krampus!! 👹
