Got a new piece of power equipment today at my building. Unfortunately, it has the speed governor, the acceleration mode (easy, medium, hard) set on "easy," and the "height over-ride" button still active. Those are the settings for the main building, due to narrower aisles/more people/etc.

Called the tech in, to make it fit for my building.
Him: So, what needs to be done?
Me: Unleash the beast. Take off ALL limits to this machine.
Him: (chuckles) Yeah, I can do that.

New hockey skates! Got some Bauers on sale at Westwood Sports in AV. They are sooooo light compared to the 20 year old Bauers I have. Can’t wait to test them out Monday. I might be able to keep up now!

They have videos from every year doing it. My kids love watching them. The poor people in the corners where they get hung up around the nets on top of the glass!

It's almost time for "A Murray Christmas" (Netflix thing, pure awesomeness) and "A Christmas Story" marathon. About a week to go. Traditions, yo. ;)

This is something my wife deals with, and has for years. It's a real thing and tough to share with others. Kudos for being willing to share your story to hopefuly impact and help others. It took me a long time to get my head around it as an "outsider" trying to play a support role.

I went bowling for a work party today and forgot how much I enjoy it. I used to bowl in a league until it stopped being fun due to the grind of a 30 week season.

I hadn’t bowled since last Christmas and shot 245 in the second of my two games. That was fun too

When I bowled, I usually rolled a 150~. However, I cannot roll a curveball*. I roll straight-ball. I think my best game was 205 or something.

*Although what is really fun is take a 6 lb ball, use your ring and pinky fingers into the finger holes, and curve the hell out of the ball.

That’s exactly what the third game turned in to. Hook it as much as possible. Thankfully the lanes didn’t have a radar gun or we would have been trying to throw as hard as possible.

I love the tire inflators that all Kwik-Trips offer for free. You just punch in what you want the pressure to be in your tire and it will inflate and check pressure until it hits the number you put in.

No, it's not that hard to just use a compressor and to keep checking with your own tire gauge but is sure is easier when it does it for you.

My wife and I would love to use Kwik-Trip for our gas but they just aren't as commonplace as Holidays are. We rarely will use Speedway as they have gone WAY downhill. I think Holiday has gone down a bit too since they were bought by a national company but definitely not as bad as Speedway.

I agree with all of this but Speedway does at least have the same tire compressors....at a charge. I seek them out, especially when it’s cold out. Now that I know Kwik Trip has them for free I will start going to the new Kwik Trip by our house.

Kwik Truos are excellent. Right up there with Bills Superette. I hear HyVee is great as well.

The New Hope HyVee is pretty good. The Robbinsdale HyVee is terrible.

Edit: Sorry. I now realize you're talking about the HyVee gas stations. Haven't used those.

I echo the thoughts on Speedway. The one by my place used to be a Circle K, and even though the same company, the overall experiences there leave a LOT to be desired (although they are slightly cheaper on car washes).

Kwik Trip is the way to go for gas stations. Holiday is 2nd (luckily for me, I have one a block from my residence, and one about 3 blocks from my workplace).

Ah, ok. Too bad SA was locally owned right?

I don't remember if it was SA or Holiday but it seemed like every person in line took 10 minutes to transact. They built a Kwik Trip right near my house at 610/Noble and I was surprised how something so simple a concept as a convenience store could produce such different results. I loved that place for speed and what they offered.

I travel all over the state of MN and ND. Holiday is my most frequented gas station. I have their unlimited wash package which is a pretty good deal and most available gas station for washing and for the places I travel, including on the way to the lake (Park Rapids/Walker). That being said, if there is a Kwik Trip, I will stop there always over anyplace else. I have their rewards, but the only time I get to one is St Cloud and south or Duluth. Otherwise I haven't seen one any further north or west than those locations. Casey's is also big in Fargo and those seem to be ok. I don't stop anywhere else than those 3 places though, there is A LOT of inconsistency between locally owned/operated other brands (Cenex, Speedway/SA.

I will say, there is a Petro Serve USA in Valley City ND that probably trumps every gas station I have ever been to. They are more like a truck stop, but they have anything and everything you could possibly want. That being said, the Petro Serves in Fargo are just above a convenience store you might find on the corner of Crenshaw and Slauson in LA....

Marathon owns both SA and Speedway, and just rebranded all SA stores to the Speedway name.

When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the country you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.

Costco has the cheapest gas, all the time. But one negative in winter: no capability to clean your windows.

Sam's club usually as cheap or cheaper and squeegees, but longer lines and fewer pumps.

I have to admit, I'm a little impressed that a few Pump N' Munch locations are still going.

How much cheaper is the gas than other gas stations? I can’t imagine it is enough to make it worth my time to deal with lines and chaos.

I think both Sam's and Costco are around 25 to 30 cents per gallon cheaper? The Sam's in Shakopee is $2.28/gallon for regular and $2.68/gallon for premium currently. Costco EP is the same.

Costco seem more orderly than Sam's. Usually they have you going all in one direction, but people seem to go in all different directions at Sam's.

I filled up on Wednesday at Costco and it was $2.58 for premium. Plus you get 4% of what you pay towards your annual reward.

My wife and I have trouble digesting gluten so we use a gluten free mix for pancakes, biscuits, etc. Kind of a gluten free Bisquick equivalent. Not great, but ok for most uses. Happened to have buttermilk I'm the fridge from another recipe. I made pancakes using the buttermilk instead of water as the recipe calls. OMG, sooo much better than usual, fluffy, crispy outside. I may have to keep more buttermilk around.

I'll have to try the buttermilk as I am always disappointed in my pancakes. Kind of dense and not fluffy.

The mix, like Bisquick, has dry milk solids in it so the recipe calls for water.

I rarely have buttermilk on hand but several years ago I found dried cultured buttermilk and it is surprisingly good! It comes in a resealable container and was pretty cheap. It’s great in my bread machine.

Thanks, everyone. Exciting stuff! The new Mom has been going to Gopher games with me since she was a tiny toddler. When we'd get there and make our way to our seats, and the band was just setting up with the bass drums on the top row, we'd stop because one of the guys would let her pound away for a few seconds, and she'd get this huge grin on her face. Gopher fan for life! :D
