Re: Committed Recruits Update Thread

What is the deal with Condon. His numbers are not jumping out at me. He did finish at a +16 good for 5th, Birkholz was a -3 on the same team. In 58 games he had 20 PIM. Birkholz had 52 PIM in 55 games. Now obviously Birkholz has more of an upside. Going by numbers alone. He seems like a guy that mo...

Re: Committed Recruits Update Thread

There's no way Condon won't be joining the team next season. What a dumb sentence by Roman. Well, if my math is correct. 6 players from last year are gone: Scott, Grant, D, Fr Dorr, Michael, F, Fr Stoa, Ryan(C), F, Jr Fisher, Drew, F, So Anderson, R.J., D, Sr Bostrom, Justin, F, Sr Lucia was carryi...

Re: Committed Recruits Update Thread

Has anyone heard anything about Leddy getting injured last night? I can't confirm anything and don't want to start any rumors, but I have heard that he was involved in a knee on knee hit. I have no other details other than to say that the NHL scout who was there to watch him was very impressed. Ple...

Re: Committed Recruits Update Thread

Bottom line is there are too many busts or studs. The studs are gone after two years or less and the busts eat up precious space for way too long.

Do the men still even play this tournament? All I ever see when I flip on ESPN is crappy women's matches. All the good mens matches (especially the second week) have started at 2:30 am. Time difference. What you have been watching are the afternoon matches. Federer rolls Roddick in the Semi's 6-2, ...

The guy they need is already on the roster. Apparently the coaching staff doesn't think he's ready to play.

Count me among the folks that like Patrick's articles and on the radio. You don't have to always agree with someone to enjoy their work.

Que David Stern: "With the First Pick in the 2009 NBA Draft the Minnesota Timberwolves Select..." Is it too early to be talking about the draft? If McHale is still around, we would have already traded the pick anyway. Are you kidding? The Wolves could have 99 out of 100 ping pong balls an...

Re: Opponent Recruiting

The recruiting situations going at UW are definitely hurting them in the perception department. For instance, I know of one high quality MN prospect that is shying away from UW (after some initial interest in them) because of the decommits, etc. that have been going on. Fair or not, the negative pe...

Re: Committed Recruits Update Thread

I think people should be careful about getting too locked into specific classes with a recruit. It is likely not as clear cut for every player. There is going to be some flexibility with some recruits on when they will enter college based on potential pro departures, etc. They are up front about th...

Good news on Gardiner - here's hoping he turns out more like Justin McHugh than Rico Pagel. btw - regarding the concept of 'over-recruitment- - is there any concern that Lucia is reaching that stage? I know he's had to deal with a lot of unforeseen departures lately, but with having to sit a handfu...

I just feel bad for the kid. Can't finish the football playoffs, can't play on the Hornets hockey team that looked poised to win it all this winter, and can't play baseball in the Spring. And it's his senior year. That sucks.

It's crack now. That has a huge stigma attached to it. Personally I don't think it should make any difference but it does as far as the law is concerned.

Bottom line for me on the trade is that Tampa Bay has done in one year what the Twins have not been able to do for the past 7 or so years they've been competitive. Make the World Series.

Tampa Bay looks just like those Twins teams looked. Except they made it.

Some neutral food for thought on Roddick.... Roddick has for the most part played at a time when tennis has been dominated by one of the best (if not the best) players of all time and it's hard to compete against that. Between the time Sampras won his 1st to his 12th Slam (the same# as Federer) 10 ...
