I think they should have played since this is a small amount of spectators, basically just parents. It's not like they have to sit shoulder to shoulder. Love the Gopher women. Super disappointed today but I think they’ll have this opportunity again next year.

Wisconsin D was great, they kept out timing off the whole game. Our forwards could have shot the puck a little earlier too but that’s some pretty easy hindsight.

I think there are many good coaches and parents involved. But each level really needs a leader/director that's a hockey guy, is really "gung ho", and a bit innovative. Sometimes in small associations there are gaps where a few years of kids just don't have that person to lead.

Well, there is a hierarchy even in Mites. We didn't have any set teams (save for a couple of jamborees) but the kids were always grouped by skating level in practice. So in a way there was A, B, and C.

Team Minnesota took second place at the Brick Invitational tournament yesterday. They had a whole week of pool play, won their division and beat the Toronto Buldogs in the semifinals before losing to the B.C. Junior Canucks in the championship.

Today I showed up at the Coon Rapids Ice Center for my very first stint as a floater for our required volunteer time. I don't follow new recruits much, at least not until the end of the summer. But year after year I wonder the same thing. Why isn't there ever a star on the Gophers team that's from Canada? I guess this is what you would call a regular update. No big deal. I'd rather see them lower ticket prices though. I guess I would go to a game even without a big tv hanging over the ice. Wouldn't you?

The Hanowski commitment jumped out at me. Around here it was thought the Hanowski's would play at St. Cloud with Festler.
