Re: Simple Pleasures...

I filled up on Wednesday at Costco and it was $2.58 for premium. Plus you get 4% of what you pay towards your annual reward.

Sam's club usually as cheap or cheaper and squeegees, but longer lines and fewer pumps.
Have to admit, no experience with Sam's.

Re: Gophers -- Other Sports

I am certainly no volleyball expert - not even close - but it seems to me the Gophers' front is a super strong point while their back court is a weakness. They also don't serve particularly well.

Is this an accurate assessment?

Costco has the cheapest gas, all the time. But one negative in winter: no capability to clean your windows.

Re: 2019-2020 Wild Season

Yes...where IKEA is now. I miss Met Center too, some great hockey memories. I saw a Gophers vs Wisconsin game there, a New Years Eve game against Chicago where 5 players from each team were ejected and also the clinching game 6 in ‘91 against Chicago. Good stuff... Also Gophers vs. the North Stars....

Re: Gophers -- Other Sports

Lately the Gophers seem to play better from behind, when their backs are against the wall.

Kwik Trip is the best gas station by miles.
But do they offer premium gas (with ethanol) for a decent price?

Re: Women's hockey

Darwitz may have been exaggerating just a bit, but since I've been following women's hockey, for roughly 20 years now, Krissy Wendell is without a doubt the most talented woman forward that I've had the pleasure of watching play the game.

Re: Gopher Football 2019

Have there been any formal announcements as to which Gophers will sit out the bowl game in order to avoid possible injury?

From the StarTribune's "Puck Drop" blog: "Six Minnesotans, including three Gophers recruits, are competing for the U.S. junior select team in the World Junior A Challenge in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, and have helped the U.S. to a 5-0 start. Re: World Juniors 2020

From the Star Tribune's Puck Drop: "That “Big Ten stinks’’ narrative in college hockey just took a hit. Of the 23 college players on the 28-player preliminary roster for the U.S. team that will compete in the World Junior Championship, 11 are from the Big Ten, six from Hockey East, four from the NCH...
