I want Frank Mazzacco and Wally Shaver back on the broadcast full time personally, but that isn't going to happen.

Thanks for the responses guys. All valid points. Honestly, I never thought planting a tree would be a big deal. If anything, I thought the neighbors might appreciate the tree. Shows what I know... As much as we want a fence, the $12k price tag (460 lineal feet) we have received from 2 different pla...

Article about Jaxon Nelson http://www.argusleader.com/story/sports/minor-league/stampede/2017/04/06/jaxon-nelson-has-come-long-ways-short-time/100106316/ Great story showing how stats alone should not be how we judge recruits, especially in the USHL. I don't think he'll be the next Bjugstad at the ...

Re: Women's hockey

Is it possible that UND is using this as a way to spur some sort of endowment to save the program? SCSU nearly dropped football a few years ago until they got a fee increase from students to fund it. UMN almost dropped mens golf and gymnastics a while back until they were subject to endowment effort...

Nate Wells with perhaps the best zinger yet:

I question how they will work through Title IX if they do that, but it can be done in view of Title IX.

But there is nothing good about that rumor if true.

Re: Jobs / Unemployed / Networking Thread

Kind of a legal question here: Back in December, several groups in my company (my group included in this) were informed that our company was doing restructuring and that some or all of our positions would be eliminated here and relocated to a new shared services center in Latin America. We were tol...

Re: Gophers -- Other Sports

Given that the media was saying that Robinson was trying to work out a severance package, I would assume they had reached a stalemate and Robinson wouldn't budge any further. So they U called his bluff. In a situation like that, the U would only do that if they believed their downside risk was less ...

To be sure, there are no doubt some good advisors that truly have a player's well-being and development at heart in their provision of advice. There are emotional development pieces that are critical to not rush the process that need to be built also, as the goal should be to develop a good person w...

but right now way too many kids are being sold a bill of goods about their odds of success at the next level by either their dads or their family advisors. I can understand a father's blind spot in this area. Especially if it is the first time he's gone through such a situation. It is the advisors ...

If you have a little more time and can get a little further south than Midtown, you MUST check out McSorley's for a beer-- or two. Best bar I have ever been to anywhere.

Perhaps this should be in the Pet Peeves thread, but I really dislike the Twins radio broadcast, and it has nothing to do with the team on the field. Neither Gladden nor Provus can storytell game action worth salt on the table, and spend more time talking about useless statistics instead of being th...

My $.02: - I loved watching Newton having fun throughout the regular season, but was disappointed in how he finished it. What really struck me wasn't his maturity (which I believe wasn't up to snuff, but he's still young so it will improve ), but how he said, "I don't know what you want me to ...

My $.02: - Denver's defense was darn good, but Carolina's offense was terrible. O-line struggled with the blitz-- especially where it was coming from, and instead of spreading out to better see the schemes, they pack it in and allow the Broncos to continue their disguise. - Carolina ran read option ...

I don't think there is anything wrong with the Rx commercials. Many of these commercials are discussing medications for treatments that people don't want to talk to their doctor about because they're embarrassed (constipation, erectile distinction, irritable bowel syndrome, toenail fungus, etc). Tough call, Tiggsy-- this is as much parenting as it is coaching, and there is no instructional manual for either one, unfortunately. Re: Gopher Basketball 2014-2019: The Quest for the Quint

The radio today said his buyout is $7.5 MILLION. It sure is easy for the U to negotiate with other people's money. This is Tim Brewster all over again. Hire somebody woefully underqualified and think that if you pay him like a big-time coach, that means he'll be a big-time coach. It's no big deal. ...
