Buxton...unreal. It is very enjoyable seeing the reactions of hitters who are not used to playing against him when he makes a play like that (and makes it look like a lazy fly ball). Out of the box that guy is thinking easy double, maybe triple. He starts rounding 1B and sees Buxton is goin...

Re: Vikings 2019 season

Never thought I’d say it but Cousins came up big at the end of that game. That throw to Thielen was a dime. The coaches tried to give the game to New Orleans in the 4th quarter but managed to avoid a complete collapse and pull out the win.

Re: Vikings 2019 season

Sounds like a pretty weak vote of confidence without contract extensions. I’m still amazed at how many kicks at the can they are willing to give Spielman. He’s been here 14 years with zero Super Bowl appearances? I get he wasn’t completely in charge of personnel the entire time, but still. Don’t thi...

Re: Gopher Football 2019

Tyler Johnson was the Outback Bowl MVP. I think a case could easily be made that Tanner Morgan should have been named Co-MVP. Never seen a better performance by a Gopher quarterback. :dup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50w15Az09ps I think Tanner flies under the radar a lot. He doesn’t have a big ...

Re: Gopher Football 2019

What a huge win. I thought holding them to a FG after the bad turnover by Tanner was huge. Then bouncing back after the kickoff return was big, it felt like the game could have gotten away from us quickly at that point. But this team has been resilient all season long. I was a little concerned about...

Jack Ramsey? Um, what? :confused2:
Yeah, I know it wasn’t the best decade in Gopher hockey history but Ramsey doesn’t even belong anywhere near the discussion of an All-Decade team.

What was it called before it was The Happy Gnome? The name is escaping me.

Re: Doug Woog RIP

When I was in high school we scrimmaged against Wooger’s South Saint Paul teams. No refs, coaches on the ice with whistles. He certainly had a lot to say. He was a character. RIP, Coach.

Re: 2019-2020 Gopher Hockey Season Thread

I think we saw last year he is very good overall. He just hasn't showed the same much this year. I agree. Troy Riddle good. Just my opinion, but, at this point, I don't see him as an NHL player. I think of him as Schroeder, nothing more Unlike Schroeder he actually gives consistent effort and seems...

Re: Simple Pleasures...

It took 30 years of life but today made me see clearly. Getting stressed about MN sports is not worth it. The curse of Loserville that I attribute to Gary Anderson's miss is tough to shake. We'll see if I can stick with it but let's try this for 2020: -Not watch any regular season Gopher football g...

Re: Gopher Football 2019

I don’t care about Game Day at all but publicity for the program is all good IMO. Plus people can quit whining about them not coming here. Win-win situation. Very solid win today. Obviously had some mistakes but I never really felt like the outcome was in doubt. What a magical season this has been. ...
