Going by stats alone, Aaron Broten deserves a spot over Vanek, and I would argue Millen and even Butsy Erickson do too. I also like Harrer and Olimb, a couple of my personal favorites, but it's hard to place them in the top 6. That's why you can't go by stats alone when the points were racked up wa...

Hard for me to put a 2-year guy on an all-century team. Vanek was a legend here and a difference maker for a national title, but.... For me it's a no brainer he's a Gopher legend and no forward comes close since Bonin. The fact that he cemented his status in just two years makes it even more impres...

Re: 2020-2021 Gopher Hockey Season Thread - Year 100 of Pride On Ice

Speaking of this article I'm really excited about the team next year but especially the defense. Would love to see a fun, offensive defenseman. As others have commented I feel like we haven't had that since Mike Reilly. Other than Jake Bischoff his senior year No one on the current roster moves the...

This is not true. For the last three weeks, the Minnesota daily increase has been running around 9% per day (has averaged 9% per day). Of course you can say anything that is not linear is exponential. But for me the most standard version of exponential is 2 ^ x. In a free for all one person infects...

Ok so I guess I will go a bit further into this music thing. I didn’t get into music until after HS. Prior to moving to Madison, I only “listened” to rap. My Dad was a big “oldies” guy and we had a fantastic station in EGF for that. 100.3. S’good. Went to college, got into a lot of different music....

I noticed during the UND game that Frank was having a bit of trouble distinguishing between Oshie (#7) and Toews (#9). Watching really made me appreciate what a gift Frank and Wooger were in the broadcast booth; we got to listen to them week after week for years, and it was such wonderful play call...

Leopold was really smart to shoot that puck off the goal and into traffic. It caused the goal tender to move way out of his set position while the puck fell straight down. The goalie's feet were all over the place on that play. It was also sweet revenge that Schutte, who decided to show boat early i...

If you don't mind sharing, what industries do you guys work in? I work in analytics for Polaris. Just talked with a Polaris engineer who told me the check book is closed. Talked with another engineer of an axle mfr who said he's on furlough, as sales dropped 80%....they are a supplier to the camper...

A few things that stuck out to me: - Talent on the Gophers squad - have we been anywhere near that since? I'm not sure we've had anything close to a Johnson or Goligoski on the blue line - Talent on the green side...how they did not win a title with Toews, Ohsie, Chorney, and Porter is beyond me - ...

Derry Girls on Netflix is flipping fantastic. Some wonderful craic!! The show takes place in Derry (Londonderry for some ;) ) Northern Ireland toward the end of "The Troubles" in the 90s and it's extremely well written and acted. The show may have the best nun character I've seen since 'the penguin...

Stick salute is at 54% now. But don't stay home Lucia Bros!
I noticed that this past season they hit the ice several times before a final stick salute. Isn't this what the ladies do?

The stick salute went from elegantly simple and classic to over baked and second rate.

Just curious, when this is all over with and we are back to "normal", what, if anything, are you going to do differently? Personally, 1. Not going to hoard by any means but will make sure we have a least one multipack of TP on hand 2. Again, not going to hoard, but there are some pretty common cann...

Hi All - Let's try this again and please do your best to keep political opinion out of the discussion - yours and others. To paraphrase a Supreme Court Justice about another touchy subject (porn)....."I can't define it but I know it when I see it." Obviously there is a directly link between this cr...

I wonder if the Bulldogs fans would have been upset two years ago when the computer models would have had them sitting at home? :) Sorry, can't have it both ways.

This death toll is getting ominus. They say in Italy 7,000 out of 70,000 corona virus patients have died. 10% is no buono. Globally the rate is about 4.4%. How about that sneaky good season from Reedy?

I expect he gets a C next year.
Good example of a guy who gets better during his college hockey career. He won't have an NHL career, so milk the college experience for all it's worth.

What makes this one a bugger is that it's a "novel" virus, the likes of which has not been seen. As I understand it, the end game is everyone is infected and recovers (or dies), and those who had it will have immunity next time to it or to similar viruses. If a vaccine is created, the folks who don...
