With the forecast of rain throughout the next week or so, my window for planting corn is closing. May 31st is the last date that my crop insurance will cover my crop at my selected rate. If it...

Re: B1G Tourney: Round 2: Golden Domers

A has the authority. However, he can take into account the others' view. There have been a couple calls in the past that some of us fans have asked about, the refs explained what they saw, and some times we nodded and said "ah, ok, we get that." If the two are equal and one makes call - other expla...

Re: B1G Tourney: Round 2: Golden Domers

I get that "bad calls happen." But some are so avoidable. In a game like basketball, it might cost 2 points in a 150 point game. I understand that they don't want to review everything, and they review a lot. In hockey, it might cost 1 in a 3 goal game. It's a big deal and I gaurantee that all 3 ref...

Ref A vs B, then there is linesmen, and they give their input, if they have any.
Does one have ultimate authority? Meaning if A and B disagree ... A just says I am boss - calling it my way. Or what?

I have always wondered about that.

Having talked with (now former) WCHA and B1G officials, they discuss. And there is an hierarchy. That being said, this call was inexcusable. Total bullsh*.

Re: B1G Tourney: Round 2: Golden Domers

I don't understand how there are two head officials on the ice and something like this can happen. In all other sports, officials/refs/umpires huddle to discuss calls when one official sees it differently than the initial call and they almost always correct the mistake. Why does that never happen i...

Re: B1G Tourney: Round 2: Golden Domers

It just seems so simple to me to fix these situations. All 4 officials huddle for 30 seconds. 3 of the 4 will tell the 1 he's an idiot and blew the call. Call is "picked up." Drop the puck at appropriate face off location and game continues. If nothing decisive comes from the referred huddle, call ...

Notre Dame is playing us near perfect (from their perspective) and we are tied. Certainly could go either way but you have to feel good about our chances - this team has come so far from where they were in November. However this goes today - a lot to feel optimistic about.

Re: Women's hockey

So only 2 western teams made the final 8. Is that unusual? Not unusual since 2012. The last two years there was three but from 2013-16 there was only two. Every year the other WCHA teams have to play Minnesota and Wisconsin 4 regular season games each plus in the WCHA tourney. Most years that gives...

Michigan plays great defense and the Gophers couldn't hit open shots in the first half.
Legs? I am thinking it’s half Michigan good half our guys are shot. Thoughts?
