I don't remember a lot about that game, but I do remember RMU played spirited enough for us to applaud them as they were leaving the rink.
I just remember their band doing a "defense, defense" cheer. Never heard that at a hockey game before. We must have had good puck possession!

Re: FS North Gophers hockey classic

I always found it amusing that it was 5-2 Gophers after one and we were the team that switched our goalie. Turned out to be big because Weber became the starter next game against Michigan and I doubt we win without him in there.

Re: FS North Gophers hockey classic

The issue with the Wheeler game is that I think UND ended our season the next weekend where they never really let us touch the puck in OT. I always have that in the back of my mind when I see that goal.

I wonder if more players than normal will return since there is no April hockey to be played anywhere so no chance to dip the toe into pro hockey.

5500 seems like a big number for a club team. Do club teams generally draw that well or is there minor league team of some sort in Athens, too?
Could Atlanta get much more than 5,500 for the NHL teams?

Was it Scott Bell that always posted a picture of Herb Brooks with a fish on Twitter when ever we got a commitment? Never more appropriate than now.

This is the worst team I can remember. I am not sure who our good players are. I know who they are supposed to be but it is ugly.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014-2020: Here's Your Damn Thread

I would say why bother getting a 30+ old pitcher with so many innings in here for $100 million. So we can lose to the Yankees or Astros with a little more dignity? I must have missed where the Yankees and Astros won the title last year... If you arent trying to win what is the point of having a tea...

Re: Gophers vs. hawks. Thanksgiving showdown

That 2004 game was one of the best I ever attended and there was so much talent on the ice for both teams it was crazy. Almost every Gophers goal was a dirty goal that game. I agree 100%. I had often thought that it was the game that I saw that had the most talent in it and I am not sure what the n...

There are games where the price point of $1 would not fill it. There is no interest anymore. It looks like great seats are available for Saturday for $40.

Re: 2019-2020 Gopher Hockey Season Thread

A big part of playing the rivals for me is wanting to beat their top players. I doubt I will develop animosity towards Caulfield when he is likely to play four to six games against the Gophers in his life. There is no I want to beat Jason Blake or Zach Parise or whomever else. Once that is gone, it ...

Re: 2019-2020 Gopher Hockey Season Thread

Conferences changed, the sport has changed, people's viewing habits/going to games have changed and none of it for the better. To be honest, I am not excited that I have tickets to six games in the next fourteen days even with the fact the four of the six games are against the storied rivals.

Re: 2019-2020 Gopher Hockey Season Thread

Assuming Lafontaine gets the start Friday, you have to play him again Saturday if he gets a win or tie against the natty champs, right? If the Gophers lose, do you really throw Moe out there at a crazy Amsoil? Play Moe on Saturday. It is a non conference game after all. I kind of think if we are to...

I agree with the above statements and that it could have been ended at Toy Story 3 Also I did not find TS4 as hilarious as the reviews indicated I might. My four year old liked it and I guess that is all that matters.

I didn't say they did. They are both little and ripped up the USHL, though. I was calling out the coincidence. Both from Plymouth and USHL Player of the Year. We may get one at 20 instead of 18, though I'm still holding out hope we get him at 19. While I'd love to see Rem here next year I'm hoping ...
