Re: Gopher Basketball 2014-2019: The Quest for the Quint

Holmgren's only Crystal Ball prediction on 247 is for Minnesota, so their list kind of makes it look like he's committed.

Who is the fellow up at UNoDak who runs Monte Carlo simulations for predicting the places of teams for the final 16 NCAA Div I Men's Hockey?
Jim Dahl: https://blog.collegehockeyranked.com/

He doesn't start running them until mid-January though.

Re: Buckeyes Dec 6-7

Kloos senior year squad was good but there wasn’t a ton of offensive skill at the blue line which kinda limited their ceiling. That team finished 4th in the country. Not sure a ceiling can get much higher. The problem was that their reward for it was to go play a game in front of 25 people in Detro...

Looking at the their top 10 players list and it’s amazing the amount of basketball talent this state produces now.
How many kids used to make the top 10 players list?

I don't know. Everything about Wheeler says he should be great, except for what he's actually done on the mound. I know it makes Beauner go stiff, but if you need a Rapsodo machine to tell that a guy is great, he probably isn't. $23+M a year for a guy whose numbers aren't any better than Jake Odoriz...

7. The played college and professionally in the same city. I mean, if we want to be technical about it, Vern Mikkelsen went to college at Hamline, but played pro ball all the way over in Minneapolis. I believe they're all Hall of Famers at the professional level as well. I thought they might all be...

Have the Twins signed any exciting free agent pitchers yet?
Twins are one of the teams that have shown the most interest in Zach Wheeler. Somebody already offered him $100M though, so I wouldn't get my hopes up.

19ish is what I had heard too. Tonight's win is a good resume boost come tourney time. Beating Clemson at home isn't likely to help much. Unless they go on a tear, that's a Quadrant 3 win. At this point, the math to get to 19 wins is almost impossible. They've only got eight games left on the sched...

Bonus quiz answers before next week's quiz: Bonus quiz, since this week's quiz was so easy: 1. In 2003, Dick Ebersol paid $50,000 at a charity auction for the right to be given what piece of information? Ebersol paid $50,000 to be told by Carly Simon who the song "You're So Vain" is about. And then ...

Love bringing Adrianza back. Perfect for his role as a utility player. Twins also signed Blaine Hardy, which, *fart noise*. Big decision by this evening is whether or not they want to bring back C.J. Cron. I'd pass. 25 home runs and a league average OPS+ shouldn't be that hard to replace. Stat nerds...

If he goes back to the USHL does he have to return to his last team he played for ( SF Stampede) or can he pick where he wants to go? Also, any idea where he is going? BCHL? The article just said he is going back to juniors, but not where. USHL teams have a separate protected list for former player...
