And if anyone was watching pretty much everyone was leaving putts short to start. And Miller kept going on and on about how Tiger wasn't adjusting, has been bad at it throughout his career, etc. I was just wondering how bad Tiger could be at it since he has won 11 more majors than anybody else out there that day. And again, just found it humorous coming from a guy that most golfers wouldn't give a 6 inch putt to.
A lot of ex-athletes have their skills diminish at some point in their career. Joe Morgan wasn't a great hitter in the end. Should he have never been critical of anybody's hitting then? All QBs have had bad games, etc... does this mean ex-QBs shouldn't criticize from the broadcast both when a current QB screws up? I guess I don't see why it matters whether Miller was a good putter or not. It's his job to analyze such things from the booth and he called it accurately on Woods.
i play it alot, one of my favorites, all the par 3 play a club longer than what you think. #4 tough tee shot, need to play there a few times and you can score well, alot of holes you can cut strokes if you know where to play too.Beauner wrote:Playing at Logger's Trail in Stillwater tomorrow.
Anybody ever play it before? Any tips?

Interesting, Tiger has won on three courses that he has won on before.

Yeah, but it's sort of getting hard for him to win on a course he hasn't won on before.

I thought it was super frustrating - you lose a ball on basically every hole if you don't hit it straight. Nice layout / nice conditions IIRC, but I wouldn't play there again.

We only played the back 9. His partner had some shady deal going on or something & we were able to get on in the evening. I shot like crap every other hole just because I was sort of in awe. For some reason I just crushed 2 shots in a row and it just happened to hit it in the right spot! This was back in 2007 I think they've done some major changes to the course since then.

I've always thought that if I ever get to play Augusta (or any of the other "major" courses) I'd play it from the same tees the professionals play - just to see what it's like.
How were the greens?

He started with a 1-over 73 on Thursday, but came back with a 64 and a 65 on Friday and Saturday. For a guy who normally struggles with links style golf and struggles in the wind because he relies so heavily on spinning his shots, this is a good sign for his British Open prospects. I don't think he'll have a chance to win at the Open, but maybe he can at least put up a couple decent rounds.

Bushwood Gopher wrote:Not the weather that was forecast. No wind at all for the morning groups, and probably as easy as the course will play all week. Adam Scott was 7 under on the 18th tee--a birdie would've given him the lowest round in major championship history. He pulled his iron into the fescue and wound up making a bogey for 6 under 64.

Would it have been the first 62, but at -8 one stroke less than the record? I hope the wind picks up because it was relatively boring viewing this morning IMO. Tiger was really fortunate to come away with bogey on 15. After I saw where his second landed I thought he was staring down a huge number. I didn't think he had a chance to hit the green from there.

I love it. I finally have something to watch while suffering from insomnia. Two amazing rounds by Snedeker, not a bogey on his card. He keeps putting the way he is and he will be tough to beat.

Not even sure how that's possible at a course as heavily bunkered as this one is, to go 36 holes without making a single bogey. Ridiculously good golf. Though I have a feeling tomorrow things are going to be a lot different for Mr. Snedeker. Everyone said the same thing about Louis Oosthuizen when he won, too, so I guess we'll see.
Regardless of what the OWGR say or if he wins/doesn't win this tournament, Tiger is the best player in golf again. That should be a sobering reality to the rest of the field.

Yep. Thankfully G Mac squashed what would have been the inevitable Steve Williams/Tiger nonsense from the media.

Common Man asked a reporter for GolfWorld Magazine that is out covering the tournament about that. His response was something like "That would be a dream pairing."

No surprise. I'd like to ask the scribes just what exactly they think would happen in that scenario. Would they expect fisticuffs to ensue? Stevie to take a photographer's camera and hurl it at Tiger in his downswing? They wouldn't say a word to each other for 18 holes and then would shake hands after walking off the 18th green. Now there's a story!

Umm, I don't think so. This is going to a playoff or Els might win this outright. Unless you were being sarcastic.

Adam Scott choked that one away like a Fighting Sioux hockey team. Bogeying the last 4 holes to lose it.
Els wins the British Open.
