Ok, since apparently no one else has posted this yet:

Star Tribune Sunday Sports section has a rather large feature story that addresses the U of M coaches salaries.

Up, up and away: Gophers coaches' salaries are on the rise
http://www.startribune.com/sports/gophe ... 51295.html
Be sure to check out the 3 accompanying charts outlining the salaries and the increases since 2003-2004.

http://www.startribune.com/sports/gophe ... 59325.html
http://www.startribune.com/sports/gophe ... 51275.html
http://www.startribune.com/sports/gophe ... 51465.html

All I will say is, IMO Maturi should have been fired based on Pam Borton's deal alone - she had total compensation of
almost $600k while the women's hoops program posted a deficit of $2,000,000 in 2010-2011. :shocking: :ahhh:

That summarizes my feelings on this perfectly. My favorite part of his plan, and he's serious, he wants to decrease the retirement age to 60 with full pension. lulz.

Maybe when he figures out how to pull that off in France, we can elect him here. Sixty with a full pension sounds nice. I will take mine with a side of all expenses paid health care and a retirement home in the Keys. Make it happen!Image

I wouldn't be shocked to see Germany go back to the DM within the next few years. I'm sure they are sick and tired of letting countries like Greece destroy their currency.

They lost $2MM and she's being paid $600 K. You aren't going to make money on womens hoops. Why shell out that much for a coach? I could see $200 K on the high end.

WBB is inevitably going to operate at a loss at the U. Do we get someone who would settle for $200k and put an even lower revenue-generating team on the hardwood or get a $596k coach to lead the kind of team we have now?

Not to mention that the US has the privilege of having the dollar as the reserve currency of the world. If that were to change or if countries start trading in other currencies out side of the dollar look out the dollar will have as about much value as toilet paper.

Everyone has to be protected from everything.

Although horrific and very sad when they happen house fires are very very rare, usually happening in much older homes as new homes are built with better materials that are more fire resistant. Sprinkler systems in houses will cause more damages to houses when they accidentally go off & cost more in repair and upkeep then they every will in putting out an actual fire.

Haha, actually wouldn't surprise me. I saw on Kare11 last week they were saying people should where helmets in the event of a severe weather warning (not necessarily a bad idea especially for kids). However, the way they were talking about it I was thinking it won't be long before this becomes law.

I wasn't referring to yours specifically, just the idea that the Government keeps having to impose new code after new code just to keep us safe, including from ourselves. And the fireworks thing that Dayton just vetoed is one I'm still kind of upset about.

Mechanic at Chevy dealer tells his boss he needs one weekend off a month for reserve duty. Dealership fires him.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/05/07/bu ... n-lawsuit/

Regardless of whether this is legal or not, this is certainly not good publicity for the car dealership, especially such a classic american brand like Chevrolet.

As Europe Turns, Part 3:

Russian security forces arrest citizens for protesting Putin

All of this would be just fascinating if it weren't so damn terrifying.

I wasn't referring to yours specifically, just the idea that the Government keeps having to impose new code after new code just to keep us safe, including from ourselves. And the fireworks thing that Dayton just vetoed is one I'm still kind of upset about.

I thought I would clarify after Kelly's comment. Although it would be entertaining to see people running around during a storm with helmets on.

What the article meant to say is that Meow the cat finally died after suffering injuries sustained from being thrown out a 3rd-story apartment complex window immediately following Minnesota's meltdown against Denver back in February.

Screw that. The moment people started looking at government as a surrogate parent rather than a body elected to be a good steward of tax money and provide for defense, infrastructure, and emergency services is the moment we totally lost the plot.

Wow, normally I'm on police officers sides of things. But this is downright ridiculous. They better get life in prison, and while they're in there I hope somebody cracks their skulls open.

actually I'd think steel toed shoes....I was heading out last night to deliver my latest batch of cabinets and an ambulance wandered up my hill...after I got back I asked a neighbor what happened and he tells me the guy mowing the lawn for the other neighbor (who is out of town) cut some toes off....sounds like a bizzare cross of Fratting and Kristo!

I think it is. Besides, with a fire, you lose everything. Fine. Life would absolutely suck.

With a sprinkler, there's a good chance they'll say clean it up and good luck selling it with massive water damage in the future. Thanks but no thanks.
