There really ought to be a Jim Rome like approach here ("have a take and do not suck")...especially for some of the newbies.

I do think the mods had too short a leash on that thread though because it could have been pretty epic. :)

Past experience indicates that threads like that usually go total sh*tshow after a quick burst of brilliance. It's best it died before it made the turn.

I'm not sure where to put this.

My nephews sons heart stopped up in anchorage yesterday. It was assumed a 10%nchance of survival if he didn't get to Seattle. While still in critical condition, Children's Miracle Network flew a team up to anchorage and then flew Liam and both parents to Seattle for free.

It's more than a simple pleasure. It's a miracle. That charity went straight to my A list.

Btw. He has been upgraded to 30% chance of survival.

Watching college baseball in the Dome during a thunderstorm. All for 5 bucks. Got there around 230pm and watched the Gophers get a walk-off win vs. Cal Poly, then watched Augustana play St. Clown in a double header. The thunderstorm hit early on in the 2nd game and it was really cool to hear the thunder and see the lightning through the new roof (and have it not collapse). At one point, it was so windy that the foul pole down the left field line shifted enough to knock the panel covering the wall off, exposing the cement wall.
Unfortunately Augie lost the first game and wasted a 6-run rally in the top of the 7th by allowing 4 runs in bottom 7 to force a "Halted game" to be finished in May because of time limits. :anger:

Get to go back tomorrow morning to watch the bro start (my first time getting to watch a collegiate start for him)

Seeing the joy of a soon to be two year old when she wakes up from her nap and finds a "Cozy Coupe" car sitting on the deck.

Pet peeve: Little Tykes for making a car with so many parts and having a horrid set of directions and groups of parts that make putting together said car a real chore.

Downloaded something called Simple Sentences for my desktop. I like minimalistic wallpapers (only have a couple icons on my desktop). You can have it tell you anything about your computer or the weather/time/etc. I don't know why, but they make me smile

"You have new emails, yo!"

"It is 2:20 in the afternoon on the 21st day of March, 2012

1. Watching your car go throught the car wash
2. The scenery at the City Pages Wine Tasting event last night. My wife and I volunteered at it. If you're a single person, especially a guy, you should make a point to attend. I was expecting a more pretentious crowd, but it was actually a pretty fun, young, single crowd.

I should clarify. We didn't volunteer to taste wine. We volunteered to pour the wine at a wine tasting event

There will be another one this fall, probably late September.

A Condon, when used properly, is 99% effective.

Epic weekend trip to Fredericksburg (TX) with the wife, a stay in an old German cabin, great food, great beer...stumbling across a fave band playing in a bar there...

...and then capping the weekend with the Gophers punching their ticket to the Frozen Four.

Quite possibly one of the best weekends of my life. :dup:

If'n you do, may I politely request a nut-free version? I'm not expecting anything, but it'd be a bummer if you actually went to all that trouble and then I couldn't eat it. I'd have to feed you to the crabs, and nobody wants that.
