What time was the show on? Is there a podcast link for the show? I couldn't find one.

The normal 6:00. It was only on through the U's website (free). I don't know if there is a podcast anywhere.

When did he say this? I listened to the whole show online and didn't hear that. Did he say it off air?

Thanks, Scotsmac. That's right, it was with Sid (I listened to that podcast yesterday, too. I guess that's where I got confused).

He can't talk about recruits that haven't signed a letter of intent and Louie won't do that until next November (at the earliest).

I've heard that he's very excited to play in the NHL.

I am very excited to retire, but it isn't going to happen for another 30 years.

At least you'll probably get to retire.
I'll probably die at work.

IMO, the Gophers should never bring in another goalie that doesn't have at least two years of junior hockey experience.

Sure is, I thought he was the best player in the game tonight. Are the Gophs going after him?

Who did they bring in with little experience?

Davey J. wrote:I was trying to watch Jack Glover of Benilde as close as I could (on TV)...I believe it was Hammy who mentioned he was getting a lot of attention recently. I can see the size and the skill...looks like a good skater, his head is always up, but he looked REALLY lazy out there. Maybe he played 30 minutes and needed to conserve his energy, but there just didn't seem to be any urgency in his game. There was one play where Edina had a chance in front of the net and Glover just did a pirouette in front of the crease. He didn't even move his stick to try to break up the pass or the shot. Just made me scratch my head!

Does anyone know if Ryan Collins even played last night for Benilde did not see him at all on the ice? I think he was an interesting choice by USA Hockey.

Haven't heard anything specific on these players, but I'm sure the staff knows about these kids. I did get down to one of their games this winter and Norman (Maplewood), Slattery (Roseville), Marcel Godbout (a Michigan State recruit from Detroit), Ryan Tait (Santa Clarita, California) and Brett Boeing (Barrington, Illinois) look like players with a likely D-1 future to me. NoDak recruit Charlie Pelnik did not play in the game I saw. As far as opinions on Chase Phelps, I was very impressed with his hands. I'd like to see him a few more times.
The "USA Hockey" national championships were this past weekend. Shattuck's U-16 lost in the quarterfinals of the midget minor division to the L.A. Junior Kings. The Long Island Royals wound up winning the championship.
In the bantam division, Shattuck's Tier 1 team lost in the semifinals to the St. Louis Jr. Blues team (led by Matthew Tkachuk, son of former NHL star Keith). St.Louis lost to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Jr. Knights in the final. (STORY)
Shattuck's Prep team won the major midget championship, beating the L.A. Junior Kings in the final. (STORY)
