I was flipping though the channels and landed on it right when they were showing the "Mouse Plague" Holy Crap!!! That shot of a virtual SEA of mice pouring over that field was enough to cause nightmares. It looked like a scene out of a horror movie. Didn't help when I woke up this morning and front page of the Strib has a story on more mice invading houses this winter.Zwak wrote:Did anyone watch Infested last night on Animal Planet. Basically a show about mass animal infestations, mostly in people's homes. I couldn't turn it off.

I wonder if it was the "Palin caused the Arizona shooting" bs that cost him his job. If MSNBC starts reporting real news in that hour, I might have to start watching!!

They used to serve a purpose. Now? Bah. Not "meh." BAH. It's sad when I get more unbiased general (not panda-bear-in-a-zoo) news from the various boards I'm on, and most of which have to do with sports. Actually, that's more than sad. It's horrendous.

I sure as hell hope not.

Yes I can. I'm not a Fox fan.
Any other crappy assumptions Keith?

Great commercial...but really, VW?
Showing off technology that my wife's three year old Durango and my four year old Grand Cherokee already has?
No my question was serious, how much did they pay Lucas to use his concept? (Especially for a feature that is not new as several people pointed out) He is quite well known for being very litigous in dealing w/ people who use SW images or the idea so I"m sure VW paid through the nose for this. The Darth Vader character, the music, the lightsaber sound at the end, they paid for all of it as George owns copyright on everything dealing w/ SW. And as a side note; the look on the moms face as she slides over the sandwich is hilarious. No smile, just that look of "how'd I end up w/ such a weird kid"?Kelly Red wrote:Early release of Super Bowl Volkswagen ad...how much did they pay George Lucus for this![]()

Oh, then you haven't seen the part where Dexter's sister.....Great series...everybody I know seems to be hooked on it...I like Season 1, 4 and 5 the best.
Snowcool08 wrote:I just finished the final season of Friday Night Lights. If you have time and want to watch a great TV show, I would highly suggest this. You can find seasons 1-4 on Netflix instant watch so it's not necessary to buy the DVD's or anything. The series is loaded great moments and great acting, especially from Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton. Just a great all around TV show.
He tells us about all of the systems that he had lost which contradicts his last statement about the greatness of the A380.. I wonder if he's ever flown a well engineered jet or would even know one if he saw it? Part of the engineering process is imagining what can go wrong and making those problems non fatal before they happen.. Like they used to say, if anything can go wrong, IT WILL!!
I don't know about the new B787 as it's a new design (a little scary to me) but the old Boeings wouldn't leave you hanging like with an unpowered system. Boeing's electrical systems are excellent as there is always power available to the "essential" buses. The Boeing 777 had backups for for the backups and sometimes even a fourth power source.

Saw him on Leno when he was really just starting to become known and finally saw him a few years ago and he is the absolute best.
I DVR'd "Happy Thoughts" last night and have yet to watch it.

I'm a big fan of Tosh.0, though I always thought Tosh's stand up was pedestrian. I'll have to check out Happy Thoughts to see if my opinion changes.

It's definitely one of those shows where it takes a season to find it's rhythm. When it starts to get going in the second season, there hasn't been much better on TV. Enjoy.

Thanks. That was the vibe I got. I know one GPL'er mentioned that they were dressing up as Donald Draper for Halloween, so it has to be good.

That was me good sir.It is a fantastic show. And as Snowcool mentions, it only gets better with each episode. Enjoy!

Snowcool08 wrote:AMC and "Mad Men" creator Matt Weiner finally reached a deal that will put the show back on the air for at least 2 more seasons. This is great news for one of the two best TV shows out there, Breaking Bad being the other. The only bad part is that there's no way they're going to get the show ready for it's usual time slot of August-October. It might have to be January until we see it or even later.

Am 2/3 into the first season, and I LOVE it. Main plot is that it's set in Providence RI, Irish working class neighborhood, and one brother is a politician while the other is mobbed up.
To my surprise, they use the mob to touch up the politics side, rather than the other way around. HEAVY on the politics, but it works.

It's interesting that episode one had a different Rocky. The new and improved Rocky showed up on episode 2.

Question for the tv folk: if I were to watch a series, would I choose Sons Of Anarchy or The Shield? I'm only choosing one until I am finished with the series (or current, as the case may be, as I think SOA is still going on). I prefer to only watch 2 series at a time (and with Breaking Bad's new season coming up, that is 1).
Go.

The Shield. Shawn Ryan is a good writer and you can actually finish the series. SOA is still going on, it finished it's 3rd season late last year and will still go for a couple of season. Unless you like watching a show that's currently on and waiting week to week, The Shield should be your pick.

Waiting is no issue, but timing is. What time is SOA normally showing? That would probably be key...

SOA is shown at 9 on Thursdays I believe. I could be wrong on that though. Honestly, just get a DVR or the equivalent of whatever your TV service you get. I never watch anything live and it is well worth the $10 a month.
