So I'm guessing the other thread fell into disrepair and Jup deleted it which is fine.

Did anyone watch the Cleveland Show tonight? I'll be shocked if this show gets beyond it's original purchase. It's worse than Family Guy, which used to be funny. Seth McFarlane is one of the most overrated writers on earth.

Also, Community, the new show on NBC is pretty good. Joel McHale is absolutely hilarious. Plus it doesn't hurt to have CHevy Chase.

That Family Guy episode was awful. They had a whole summer to think up new material and that's the best they can come up with!? With as little free time as I have to sit down and watch TV, I don't really follow a specific show week-by-week, but I have a feeling that won't be a problem this year...

Kent Hrbek has severed ties to the "Kent Hrbek Outdoors" show. Wall to Wall media bought the show two years ago. Herbie said it wasn't an amicable seperation.

I watched about 5 minutes of the Cleveland Show. What little I saw was awful enough for me to change the channel. I had to record Family Guy since I was getting the kid ready for bed, but from what I read here it's probably not worth my time to sit down and watch it.

Sad part is, as bad as the episode was, it was one of the funnier ones in a while. Which isn't saying much. I missed American Dad (the best of the three shows) because I couldn't take Seth McFarlane anymore.

I only saw the first few of Family Guy (recorded the rest) but I thought it was good. I made up my mind before not to watch Cleveland - it just looked bad.

I thought Modern Family was outstanding, although it might go the way of Arrested Development as it's probably not for the stupid masses.

FSN doesn't want to rush into anything. They have their HD switch over set for 2029.

The other stations will switch to SHD (Super HD) in 2021 so they are only goign to be 2 generations behind for 8 years... ;)

What did any of you fellow sci-fi junkies think of V?

I was a huge fan of the original miniseries/show in the 80's. The new one tonight was ok. I think it will be hard pressed to be as good as the original but we'll see.

Although I've been watching almost every single show talked about so far, my vote for bets shows so far goes with The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, and Community. It's good to see some decent comedies come back in the recent years. The medical dramas were getting really boring.

Couldn't agree more. It would be very easy for this show to become stale as the premise is the same each week, but the writing keeps it fresh.

30 Rock is the (intentionally) funniest show on TV right now, IMO

I watched that show for a while but ended up hating it. I don't remember why but I just didn't mesh with it I guess.

The writing on house is fantastic. Plus the character development is some of the best I've ever seen.

So far this season is good, I love the writing....I wish my doctor could be that brutally honest!

Love Modern Family, am counting the days until Lost resumes, but my current favorite show? Shhhh, lean in so I can whisper....Sons of Anarchy. Arggg, I can't believe I admitted that I'm hooked on a show about a CA biker gang! I'm female, slightly mid-aged, normal in all relative aspects. I should be watching Desperate Housewives, The Good Wife, Ugly Betty, but noooooooo, give me biker gangs, father/son issues over power, cheap porn flick production as gang income.

The odd thing is about that show is that the original British version he is actually a very nice guy and a great motivator and manager. He cusses all the time still and can really be an arse when someone is not listening or giving him crap, but the US version basically makes him out to be an arse all the time.

Lost's final season starting next week. I really don't like the show as much as I did the 1st couple seasons... but I have to know what's going on! Talk about keeping people hooked...

The odd thing is about that show is that the original British version he is actually a very nice guy and a great motivator and manager. He cusses all the time still and can really be an arse when someone is not listening or giving him crap, but the US version basically makes him out to be an arse all the time.

I haven't seen the US version of the show...I'm watching it on BBC America. He doesn't come across as anything but passionate on the UK version. I am liking this show - it's the first time I've watched it.

Reading this thread is like watching or Listening to Rosen on KFAN or CCO at 5PM. I swear that guy must spend hours watching films. If he spent half that time going out to practices or games rather than taking his reports off line, he'd be a decent sportscaster once again. His coverage of hockey is terrible. He must be getting tired of his main job. WCCO is lucky the competition is weak. The woman on fox 9 does better than Rosen IMHO

Kitchen Nightmares (BBC version) is great, but I think The F Word is a better show.

Last week they had a special on BBC America..."Top Gear" meets "The F Word." It was great. Here's a clip (not for the squeamish...and I'd suggest turning the sound way down if you're at work).

Wow, I just finished season 4 of Dexter. I think it would be an understatement to say season 5 needs to be out now.

I almost gave up on the series after a lackluster 2nd season and struggling through the first 2 episodes of season 3 on DVD, but someone told me season 4 was getting very good so I caught up and watched it. By far the best season and John Lithgow plays a great nemesis for Dexter. I have no idea where season 5 will go but I know it'll be very interesting.

Season 2 was ok. But yes, this season easily ranks up there with the first season.

Breaking Bad is amazing. The writing is up there with Dexter. Dexter has that quirky charm but Breaking Bad is far darker (if that's possible). Excellent show.

An American version of Top Gear will begin showing on the History Channel this fall.

Yes, it’s true. The History channel and BBC Worldwide announced today that work has begun on an American version of TopGear, with US presenters fronting the new show.

The first series of ten episodes will air on History next fall (an American-only season not dissimilar to ‘autumn’, we believe), though exact dates are yet to be finalised. It will be hosted by Tanner Foust, Adam Ferrara and Rutledge Wood.

This version will likely be awful. 99% of what makes the UK version awesome is the three hosts. You can't replicate that.

 I agree the American version will probably be terrible. I love this show and am addicted! Last week I asked my roommate how long it would be until the American version comes out. You knew it was inevitable. Yep...the 3 hosts make that show! And of course you can't forget about the Stig!

I just started watching Top Gear. Absolutely fabulous. And I agree, no way they can replicate as even though the cars are fantastic the hosts truly make the show. The episode of them trekking across Bolivia in vehicles they purchased sight unseen is tremendous.

I wish more people felt that way. I've really enjoyed the show, but it's looking like a guarantee that it will be canceled after this season.

It's a really cool idea, though not always executed as well as it could have been. Plus, the extremely long winter break probably killed a lot of the following. Tonight's show should be pretty crazy though. I'm looking forward to it.

FlashForward is the new Lost. It could get as big as Lost if they just gave it time. It's mostly the same writers and has a very similar feel to it. They'd better not cancel.

I've gotta catch up on Fringe too, that's another great show.

The UK version I always forget that it's on until I catch the last 10 minutes of the show. You are right that the American version will fall WAAAYY short on hosts compared to the UK, but who really doesn't find those Brits witty?

Mark me down as a big fan as well. It will be interesting to see which direction the show goes. For the first 7 or 8 episodes it was average. The last half dozen or so have been very entertaining! It turned into a good show when Al Gough did you know what.

I always wanted to watch the show, but it's on the same time as the NBC comedies so I never got around to it. I will definitely have to buy the DVD of the show when it comes out then.

So this series "The Story of Us" had me all excited. Not at all what I thought it would be though. The great historians featured so far: Gulianni, Donald Trump, Aaron Corkin (or something like that; a screenwriter), and Professor Gates of beer summit fame.

What a letdown...

Edit: Add Mayor Bloomberg to that list now...
And the co-founder of wikipedia...

This show just oozes respectability

Glad to see Lost finally kicked it into gear this week after a couple weeks of set-up episodes.

Flash Forward rules.

Patrick Warburton is the funniest man on TV (other than Peter Griffin). He should get an Emmy for "Rules of Engagement".

Well it's a good that Lost kicked it in to gear, but now we have to wait an extra week for the next episode and that drives me crazy.

I've watched every episode of Rules of Engagement and this season is by far the best. Patrick Warburton has just gotten funnier and I really like the addition of David Spade's assistant.

If anyone is looking for a good comedy to watch, Party Down is starting it's 2nd season on Starz and it is very entertaining. You can also catch up with the 1st season and watch 2nd season episodes after they are aired on Netflix.

Party Down is great, although they are missing Jane Lynch. Should still be good.

The X Factor wrote:FlashForward is the new Lost. It could get as big as Lost if they just gave it time. It's mostly the same writers and has a very similar feel to it. They'd better not cancel.

I've gotta catch up on Fringe too, that's another great show.

FYI, caught up on Fringe and I think it is a better and more intriguing show overall than FlashForward. JJ Abrams produced, Joshua Jackson / Anna Torv / John Noble are solid in their roles. Lots going on in the show that still hasn't been revealed yet. I'm really looking forward to part 1 of the season finale this thursday at 8

Whoa... NBC cancels Law & Order... :(

Also, I completely missed this but apparently this is the final season of 24.

Sounds like FlashForward has also been canceled. I see some on here like it. After the break I couldnt get back into the show. Also the main people that made LOST dont have anything to do with Flashforward.

That's great news, NBC was still on the fence earlier in the week.

For those with families... "Modern Family" is fantastic. Great cast and writing.

Ed O'Neill is quite possibly the greatest actor of all time. (I'm only half joking. I love Ed O'Neill.)
