I finally got around to adding the 2003 championship video to YouTube. The quality is light years better than what someone else had posted a long time ago. So please check it out on the video page or on YouTube. Clicking the HQ button should give you the best version available. But even the low-res version is much better than anything you will find out there.... I have a slightly better version of the 2002 video that I can post. It's not a ton better, but it does seem to have less pixelation. I will try to get that up this weekend.

As much fun as '02 was, I really like watch 2003. Seeing Vanek work is magic is something special. I can remember running into the house to watch OT in the game against the ugly helmets. Then turning to the others in the room when Vanek scored and saying, "did that really go in? Seriously?"

I have a picture of Martin's diving save as well. Ah, the memories.

I absolutely love the play between Vanek and Waibel on Waibel's goal, and the fact that it was Matt DeMarchi (the stay-at-home defensman's stay-at-home defenseman) who drove the net on Vanek's goal. (Both in the Championship Game)

Both those teams were something to watch.

Personally I got a bigger chill from the 2002 video. That was the first year I started watching gopher hockey. It was straight up one of the most amazing games I have ever watched. I still get goosebumps. Brings a tear to my eye watching that empty net celebration.

The goal by vanek is the 2003 game was beyond incredible though.

perhaps this is just my "arrogance" as a gopher fan but when I watch those videos, everything seems "right in the universe" at a lack of a better phrase. I love it. I can't wait until we see our gophs in the title game again.

Dx, I agree completely. My point was that 2002 was great, but 2003 has it's own feel. I was at the 2002 game and nothing, I mean nothing, will ever compare. Watching '02 literally brings tears to my eyes.
