Parking/Eating by the "X"

Postby Chris83 » Wed 11/04/09 9:13 pm

Hi All,

My wife and I have tickets to the Wild game tomorrow night; any suggestions on decent places to park not TOO far away? We were also thinking about grabbing some dinner beforehand at perhaps Cossetta's or Tom Reid's as well. Anyone have suggestions on anywhere else.

Thanks!!!

There is a lot of surface parking right by the X. I don't have a "secret spot" that is cheap, but IMO the convenience is worth paying for. There is a lot on Kellog just East of the X that I use during the Final Five. It's probably $10 for a weeknight game.

As far as food... I LOVE Cosetta's, but I also like the Grand 7, on the corner of (get this) Grand and 7th. McGovern's is good, the Liffey is nice. Eagle St. is always packed on event nights because of its proximity to the X. Just my 2 cents. Anywhere on 7th is pretty good

I need to find the name of the bar from my buddy but there's a bar just down the street that we've gone to after a few games. Fantastic patio during warm fall nights or late spring games.

Cossestta's is almost always packed the night of a Wild game. Up on Selby is a Russian/Eastern European place called Moscow on the Hill. It is excellent.

The parking lot behind the DQ? Great place to park. Whenever I go to the X, that's where I park (every time for the last 4-5 years or so).

I'm guessing you are talking about mcgoverns. not sure if the patio is still open at this time of the year, but if it is I highly recommend it.

If you are coming in from the South Metro, I have found that it is really easy to do it via Sheppard Rd and park in the surface lots on Chestnut St or the Science Museum ramp. Leaving is really easy as you just jump back on Sheppard and you are otta there. As far as eating, Cassetta's pizza is tough to beat pre game, but as was mentioned, the lines will be LONG if you are not there early. TR's is a great place to grab a beer. If the lines are long at Cassetta's, McGovern's has some pretty decent food. Enjoy the game.

When I went in January I went to McGoverns before the game, it was busy but it seemed like people were in and out enough to get a seat. The food was pretty good and considering how busy it was they handled the crowd good.
Go HAWKS!!! I am going to get flamed if we lose
